We arrived at Vero's pizza around 4:30. We were greeted quickly and sat inside.when we arrived there were three tables full of customers outside And one table of customers inside. We sat inside and we were welcomed by the server within a minute or two. We placed our drink order and ordered cheese garlic bread. When the server came back with the drink order he took our food order. After waiting for 30 minutes we asked how much longer it would be. Our waiter he said it would be another 5 minutes. After waiting again for more that 5 minutes we asked again. In the mean time the restaurant started filling up. Other customers came in and were being served their food. We had ordered a thin crust pizza so it shouldn't take a long time. Around 6:00 the manager came out and told us is would only be another 30 minutes or so. We were beyond frustrated after repeatedly asking about our order only to be told they had not made the pizza yet. All of the Customers that arrived after us were enjoying their orders. There was no apology given we were just told we'd have to wait another 30 minutes to get our pizza since it wasn't made yet. We felt that After waiting a least an hour we were done. We were given a bill for the cheesey bread and beverages. We were charged $21 for an order for the bread and one beer and one ice tea. read more

So where to start. The positive is they do make a good pizza but that is where it ended. Got there at 6:30. Put in our drink order. Also order appetizer the calamari. The rest of our group ordered an appetizer. Drinks came out pretty quick but app did not show up for another 35 minutes. We had also put our order in along with the rest of the people we were with. Their appetizers came out about 10 minutes after ours. During the process the server spilled beer on one of our friends. Our calamari was overcooked and like eating a mouth full of salt. Was not edible. Sent it back. One of our friends noticed a big cockroach climbing the wall next to the kitchen. Pizza took over an hour and ten minutes to come out but unfortunately for us our pizza and a friends never made it out. 10 minutes later their pizza came out. At that time they informed us it would be another 15 minutes for ours to come out. So total time to get our pizza was 1 hour and 40 minutes. When it made it out it was not the pizza we ordered. We ordered the butter crust and it came out as a thin crust. Not once was there an apology from the server or the manager. No one came out to try and make the situation better. We chased down the owner and he offered a lot of excuses. He compensated the meals but that was not what we were looking for. You are a business owner you should be out with your customers trying to make things right. Would never consider going back. An awful experience! read more

I was always a big fan of buddyz pizza and was very excited when they put a new location in at Williamsfield and Val Vista. We have a bunch of great pizza options in the neighborhood but I keep coming back to Vero because they're butter crust is simply better than everything else out there. Wow, my daughter and I stopped by to try their Chicago style pizza, and it was love at first bite. We got a small (10 inch) Wrigley Field and it was amazing. We also tried their gravy cheese bread as an appetizer and it was a surprising twist on the usual garlic bread. We ended up taking half the pie home. Very inconsistent. When they first opened this location we were pumped. We could barely choke the deep dish down. The dough was so salty - tasted nothing like what we had purchased from Buddyz or the QC location. We've tried the wings twice. First time good - second time not so much. We saw this new business while driving by looking for a place to eat. The manager (Mickey) happened to be outside and invited us in. We had several conversations with him while we were here. This is now one of our favorite go-to places in Gilbert. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, and excellent service. And the prices are great!
