This place is pure nostalgia with extra cheese! I've been coming here for over 30 years now (I'm aging myself, I know), and every time I walk through the door, it's like stepping into a time machine... one that runs on pepperoni, retro arcade sounds (especially that NBA JAM machine), and those cheap, swirly ice cream cones. Since it's reopening, the pizza is kinda how I remember it... hot, cheesy, and satisfying in that perfect old-school way. And the fact that you can still grab a cheap cone as your walking out the door without breaking the bank, is still amazing. Great prices, great vibes. Now, it's not without a couple small things on my wish list: I'd love to see fried wings instead of the baked ones (more crunch = more love), and maybe a few more TVs so you don't miss a game while you're soaking in the retro atmosphere. But honestly, those are minor in the grand scheme of it all. It's dough has a yeasty flavor and a crunch bottom while still being chewy, the pizza sauce is tomato paste heavy, and the cheese is light. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza with extra sauce to go. Crust was a little undercooked and doughy but the sauce and topping was decent. It was also very inexpensive so it scored good on flavor. Ate 2 slices last night and I was disappointed initially, but I crisped up a couple of slices in an oven this morning for 2 min at 500 degrees and it turned out perfect and a little crunchy. I think they have good food ingredients and good flavor profile- they just don't worry about quality of finished product of pizza going out the door. I think I'd still do it again tho. read more

I noticed I wrote a review 10 years ago and wanted to update my review, because after all these years this place still hits! 7.95 for a large pepperoni pizza. We love this place and now that we live closer, we usually take out at least 4-5 times a month. My daughter loves to have this for dinner and take it in her lunch the next day. Driving down Main Street looking at all the modern buildings popping up and lo and behold....husband sees a nice A Frame building marked PIZZA MART. In we went! We got a large pepperoni pizza for about $6 that turned out to be the very type of pizza we had been craving. The entire crust was perfectly baked, the mozzarella cheese was gooey, and sauce was well proportioned with the other components. Also ordered medium wings (10piece) which were very tasty and well made. You can order sodas and drinks by the pitcher which is handy for bigger families. There is also a salad bar for $5. Wanted to try their ice cream but was down for the evening....will have to get it next time! Inside are booths fitting 4 and huge tables for larger parties. In the back there is a row of arcade games. Which really brings in the nostalgia. So I am an Arizona native and Pizza Mart's used to be all over the place, was pleasantly surprised to know there was still one in Mesa. Anytime we're out in the East Valley we always stop in and enjoy the food immensely. We always sit in the front area and don't sit back by where the games are but we did today and was totally grossed out. The ac vents and the filters were beyond filthy and don't look like they have been cleaned in years. It makes you question if that is in plain view what are the conditions not in plain view look like? What does the inside of the refrigerator look like? Is food left out on non cleaned surfaces? Instead of tending to the customers need which ever poorly trained employee that was on the cash register on Wednesday at 4:25 pm not only stated the obvious .( sign posted about 30 cent fee ) and began to become more rude . I have very mixed reviews of this place. My co-workers raved about this place, so I thought I'd try it out. The cleanliness of the restaurant is definitely lacking. You can see visible dust on filters and walls, also on the picture frames and the empty cups they have on top of shelves by the bar area are dusty and greasy... there are a bunch of handwritten signs on all over, basically giving salad bar instructions. they make it very clear ALL OVER the place that ranch costs extra! It's crazy how a tiny cup of ranch cost almost as much a whole ice cream cone... weird, but OK. The pizza is mediocre and not the best. It's OK at best. The wings were great! Nice and meaty and saucy!! But for 33$ for 2 of us to have just ok pizza isn't something I'd hurry and go back to. read more

The dough isn't too thin or too thick it's perfect with that crunchy crust. I personally love my tomato sauce a little sweet! I live near Pizza Mart and had never been. I have a family with 4 children. We spent the Saturday afternoon playing at the park and the kids wanted pizza for dinner. I figured we would try Pizza Mart our. This place is straight 80s/90s nostalgia. Like a time warp... in the best kinda way. From the menus sign and decor to the old arcade games. I felt like I was in Back to the Future... a flash back to my 90s childhood. We ordered 2 large pizza, wings, pitcher of soda, and 6 ice cream cones (only .50 for each cone) only cost us $35. While waiting for the food we put some money in the ancient token machine and played some arcade games. What a great time. The food arrived and it was much better than what I was expecting. The pizza was good. I really liked the crust. Nothing out of this world but I enjoyed it. My kids killed their whole pie. The wings were also good. Yes, we will be back. I was riding Valley Metro Rail on the way home and the train kept passing by this place. I was really having a hankering for a pizza, so I got off at the Stapley station and it literally is just right across the street from the station. I walked on in, and the service is very nice, and I can safely say that this was the best combination pizza I ever had. Adults may not so much. The bathrooms are a little 3rd-worldly. But that's not food so I'm not docking them a star for that. But make sure your kids go at home first! This review is solely for the pizza, which is the best around for the money. It's nice and hot with a good balance of cheese to sauce, with a nicely browned and crunchy, thin crust. The service, however, was a totally different story. The older blonde woman at the register did not acknowledge our presence AT ALL when we walked in, and never cracked a smile the entire time we were in the restaurant. The two younger men, maybe teenagers or a little older, who were cooking, were scowling lads who watched us like we were going to rob the place!
