Ordered take out. Dropped $61 on 2 entree's and salad. Food wasn't even worth half what I paid. Small portions and you can get the same quality food at any hole in the wall pizza joint. Tried the Eggplant grinder last night......Eggplant is everything to me.......Consistency, roll, cheese amount......crispiness to mush percentage etc...... I enjoyed the eggpalnt grinder very much ! The roll was AMAZING. Fresh and delicious , the eggplant was tasty and cooked nicely and the sauce......well the sauce was REALLY good which rounded out the whole experience....I usually don't eat a full grinder ......but last night......I took my time and ate the whole thing over a 2 hour span enjoying every bite....Im looking forward to my next dish.....If it tastes as good as this.....then 5 stars it is ! Stepping foot into the restaurant transforms you, First you are greeted with smiling staff who actually take the time to greet you. The decor has obviously been done with love for everything Italian-so cool, mod. Last night I was able to enjoy the outdoor patio area, (thank you Dee) where each table is so beautifully set. Sorry to go on about the atmosphere, but it is mood changing. Every waitstaff who passes your table makes eye contact in case you need them and the best part? if you don't indicate so, they leave you alone with your conversation-that is an art. THE FOOD!!! the menu is so articulately worded it makes your mouth water. We had apps and entree and it was outstanding, perfect. I can't believe I have never been, how did I miss this place or not hear about this place? Oh, it gets better- we walked over to the live music after dinner for some amazing blues, harmonica. Not impressed at all with the pizza. 19.99 for a large cheese pizza is crazy. The cheaper pizza does not come with mozz. Without mozz, it's not a pizza. We will go back to Jerry's. It's a better pizza at a more reasonable price. read more

Several times GOOD, Too Many Times NOT GOOD. No consistency and too many issues. Quality ingredients, but often poorly executed.

Had high hopes, but not a good experience for us. Called ahead to confirm there were gluten free options, then when we arrived, made sure to let the server know of husband's celiac and requirement for gluten free choices. After all of the precautions, there was a mistake in the kitchen with reading the meal ticket, and he was served a meal with regular breadcrumbs and gluten. It made him sick. We left very disappointed and couldn't believe they did not take the dietary need seriously. Gluten is like poison to someone who has celiac. If it had been an allergy, he would have ended up in the hospital. Staff did little to acknowledge the seriousness or to make things right. Very bad experience. read more

Tonight my wife and I dined at Vero Cocina for the first time. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and were given prompt and friendly service. The food was very very good. It was easy to tell that the ingredients were fresh and the quality was exceptional. The decor and atmosphere was very relaxing and tasteful, yet comfortable and relaxed. We met the owners and found them to be very personable and into what they are doing. I only wish we could give extra stars I don't believe 5 is enough! We have found a new favorite place! read more

Dave the bartender turned a bad experience into a good one. We were seated promptly in the lounge for dinner with a party of 4 on a Saturday night (had a 7 PM reservation), waiting for our friend's band to perform. Unfortunately, after being seated we were left sitting there with no waitress tending to us, we were not even offered water. We waited and waited after every waitress on duty passed our table multiple times. As we were about to walk out, Dave heard our complaints from behind the bar and came to the rescue by taking our order and serving us our meals from start to finish, amidst having a very busy bar crowd that he was tending to. He acknowledged the situation and apologized profusely. Thanks to Dave for making it a pleasant experience. The owner should take this issue up with his waitresses. Never once did a waitress even come by our table. Dave took away every dirty plate we had too. The only reason we would ever go back is if we had Dave as our server. read more

I grew up in the New Haven area, and this pizza is so much better. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. The staff were all very friendly, and made us feel very comfortable. My husband and I usually will travel quite a distance to our favorite restaurants, and now the best pizza around is only a mile away. read more

My party of three and myself visited Vero this evening and the food was phenomenal, as well as our waitress. We tried the mashed potatoes and bacon pizza, pasta carbonara and the chicken Marsala. All dishes were great along with our drinks. I would recommend anyone to visit this gem of a restaurant. The chef and owner have done a great job to create a wonderful atmosphere with great food. Everything we heard is true. Remenissant of the old Italian restaurants of my youth. Best bread ever. I will have to refuse the second helping. We were in the mood for pizza when it came we could not believe the size. Some local places are shrinking to the size of personal pizza. Everyone was very pleasant. The salad was large enough for two. We cannot wait to go back for dinner selections. The pizza sauce is old school Italian. No negatives on this one. We ordered the veggie pizza-one huge pie! Never had one that big and took more than half of it home. We sat on the patio on a pleasant evening. One of the owners came by and asked us to move to another table since the one we chose needed to be wiped down better, he said, which we hadn't noticed and thought was a bit strange. Waitress was very friendly and other diners were raving about their meals. Our wine was decent. Hope they make it here as other business' there were not successful. read more

Gave it because of the poor service. Was there with a large group and we had a contract for a large group dinner. We were asked if we wanted drinks and asked for a menu. Waitress brings one menu for 16 people. Others had to ask before she went to get more. Took forever to get the appetizers served. Decided to give out awards since we were just waiting. We had salad and pasta prior to dinner. Arrived at 6:30 and dinner was not served till 9pm. At that time some had to leave. Then the first entree of the family style came out but had to wait 30 min till the other entrees came out. We had a variety of entrees to meet this groups request. We had to as for the other two entrees and to go boxes. By now it's way to late. Then we asked about dessert and said it was not included. However we had the contract to show it was included. There were no apologies for the extremely slow service. It was not a busy night. Originally was going to eat outside which cost $50 more and because it was a cool night decided to eat inside. They still charged us the extra $50 even though we were not outside. It's sad he lost an opportunity to have several new customers however I don't think any of them will return. The food was just ok. Like to support small businesses but this was just a very poor service with just ok food. read more
