My project was a challenge and I am glad that I went with Verrazano Roofing & Restoration. Our roof was 21 years old and required work because of a leak that was made worse by a previous "family-friend" jack of all trade contractor. He was super responsive and answered all my questions and followed up with call backs. The timeline of my project was a tricky one. I was scheduled to fly out on Jan 6th . On December 22nd, my ceiling started leaking water and I needed my roof fixed asap. I gave Larry a call on Dec 24th and he was able to provide me a quote the same day. The pricing was fair especially since I wanted a clean install with demolition. We scheduled for Jan 4th. On Jan 4th, Verrazano Roofing & Restoration showed up at 9AM sharp and got to work right away. The crew was very professional and used the proper equipment and attire for roofing. They did not cut back anywhere when it came to making sure the house was done right. All materials used were professional grade. The crew laid out a tarp to catch all the excess demolition debris and moved aside all my front yard belongings to make sure nothing got crushed. They replaced sections of the roof that had rot and packed all the trash and debris while doing demolition. Having worked with other contractor groups in the past, this is the best experience I have ever had. I can tell Larry trained his team well and everyone that was on his team was willing to work. They all have great attention to detail and did the littlest things to make sure the job was done right. The demolition was very organized and chaos free. They completed the job the same day by 4pm. I was amazed by the efficiency; my neighbor across the street had hired some shady contractors; three weeks in they are not done with a shingle replacement job. Overall, I was very impressed and satisfied with the work that Verrazano Roofing & Restoration did. The 15 year warranty is a great bonus. Update: Larry contacted me after my review and sent someone over right away to finish the repair and assured me of his reliability from now on. I appreciate the efforts to resolve the issue. Contacted them because of all the positive reviews. Needed two holes in my roof patched up since squirrels were getting in. They came in and patched them up. I had an exterminator come in later and he said only one of the holes was fully patched up. He showed me where sunlight was coming in from the second hole and I called Larry back. He said he would contact me the next day to schedule a time to finish the repair. The following day I didn't hear from him so I texted and left a voicemail for him. No answer. 5 days later he texted me back saying he wasn't around the last few days and can have someone come by the following day or that Friday, and I agreed. I waited and still nobody showed up. I shouldn't have to continually chase down a contractor to finish a job left undone. Now I'm just going to have to find someone more reliable. read more

If there were 6 stars I would give them to Verrazano Roofing. They were extremely professional and very responsive. Larry came within a few hours of my initial call on Friday morning and provided a quote a couple hours later. He made himself available on Saturday and Sunday to answer questions about the quotes. Larry described the options in simple terms and recommended what he would do if it were his house (which was not the most expensive option). He sent a crew out on a Sunday to fix a leak at no charge, since we had hired them to put in a new roof. The new roof was put in on Monday, so 3 days from my initial call. Larry followed up the next day to be sure the new roof didn't leak. They warranty (for 10 - 15 years) all of their roof replacement work, which not everyone does (based on 2 other quotes I received). Also had them put in a new skylight, which went smoothly too. Put simply, these guys did everything right. Couldn't recommended them highly enough. Definitely would recommend Larry and his crew! We were worried about having our whole roof repaired down to the beams, the mess it would cause, the lawn being ruined, etc ...however after much searching we came across Verrazano Roofing and his great reviews..we were hesitant at first, just like everyone would be when doing such a big job, but decided on giving him a try after speaking with him and giving us a fair estimate! I had my roof done by Larry and his team, I have a flat roof that need some TLC. Larry and his crew did a terrific job on our roof. From the first time I talked to him, he kept me up to date on the arrival date and time and continued to update me even while they were working on the roof. We weren't able to make the first scheduled day work because of the rain, but he was able to fit us in on the next day that would work with our schedule. The crew was able to complete our roof in one day and they cleaned up after themselves. There was no debris left behind for us to deal with. When it comes to money, Larry gave me two estimates. One for a complete roof replacement (going down to the wood) and one for a new covering. Both estimates were on par with what I was expecting and we locked in the amount with no "surprise" charges. Great company to do business with. I have dealt with a number of construction contractors over the years some good, some not so good and Verrazono was very good. At all stages of the project I was pleased with their service. The estimate was delivered quickly and was reasonable. I will say that while they were not the lowest bid I received, I chose them because they had specified better materials and their scope of work made it clear they intended to do the job the right way. There's nothing worse than not knowing who to trust when it comes to home construction in NYC. It isn't often I take the time to leave a review but I definitely know how helpful they can be for others. I got a few different estimates before I decided on Verrazano Restoration. Larry was the only company that provided a written estimate with full details about the process within hours of our first meeting. I'm a sucker for professionalism so I was pretty much sold after that. The actual process was pretty efficient and quick despite a few delays because of weather. We just recently redid our entre roof and are extremely pleased with the results. Larry and his team did an excellent job in communicating the process and executing the work as discussed. Upon completion, due the multiple layers of old roofing which was removed, there were open spaces between the shingles and the brick which Larry offered to come back at no additional charge to install the additional flashing in order to ensure we were 100% satisfied with the work. My roof was leaking badly and I needed rapid service. I called Larry at Verrazano Roofing. He answered the phone immediately, came to survey the roof the next day and provided a reasonable estimate. Once the work commenced, it was completed in one day. Not only was the roof completely redone, but my access hatch had been nailed shut and tarred over by the previous owner. In the past, other roofers stated it could not be opened without tearing the whole roof off. Larry's men opened it immediately and replaced the hatch.
