Doctor Park and Doctor Nikki H were the two with us most of the time and they would make sure we had a nice comfortable room, snacks, coffee and even coloring books and pencils for my toddler. They certainly could've done their job and we'd have been satisfied, however their passion for care of (any) animal clearly showed in how much effort they put in to our visit. You'd have thought we were their only patient in the office! And when you have to take your pet to an ER you're already on edge and stressed and they did everything in their power to help ease ours. I highly highly recommend and if we ever do need emergency care, this is the place we will be - and I recommend the same for everyone else. Thanks so much!

The employees and kind and comforting, as they should be. I appreciated that. The drawback is that before they even begin - the doctor gives you a bill to pay. When any additional procedure is needed - the doctor hands you another bill to pay. This occurred a minimum of 4 times while I was there. The pressure of the bill and having to make life and death choices makes for a not clear-headed decision. I understand that they want their money. I'm sure that can be an issue - however - putting a clip board with a paper to sign and a card charger in front of your face throughout the time there became a bit much. I was getting angry by the end instead of giving my baby the support that I should have been. I don't know the solution from the doctors viewpoint - but this was not the way to handle it from mine.

Both times I took my Toby Bear in for emergency services I received the utmost care. They are so personable and loving, they allow you to watch what they are doing and let you know exactly what is going on through the process. The first time we went my Toby had been injured on his paw and it was broken; they set it and gave me instructions on how to take care of him and to contact my vet for follow up. The next and last time I took him in the middle of the night they found a mass in his lower spine, and we had to euthanize him so he wouldn't suffer. Toby was an amazing soul; I got him when he was 7 and I loved the years I spent with him and will never forget the love and care I received from them. Thank you VEG Group, I will never forget you!

My experience at the edgewater VEG was shockingly poor compared to VEG Colfax. I thought I would…read moregive edgewater a try thinking they might be less busy, but everything about it was a nightmare in comparison. Avoid this location and go to VEG on Colfax. Edgewater staff pretty much ignored me and my cat for a couple hours. Nobody checked on us, and despite the open room setup all the staff avoided eye contact about as intentionally as it gets. Doctor Meyer presented options in a cold way, "it's going to be very expensive and you can pick one of these 3 things" and would not give any recommendation for what is best for my pet. The most frustrating part is that she told me to return for an ultrasound the next day, but never told me I needed to fast my cat for that so when I went to Colfax the next day they couldn't do the ultrasound due to stomach contents. This is a massive mistake for a pet having a critical issue. Edgewater also told me that they had higher pricing on the weekend. After my poor experience there I went to Colfax the next day, and they told me their pricing is the same all week. They quoted me lower than Edgewater price. They told me I should have been told to fast my pet. After waiting 1.5 hours for simple blood draw with no update from the 8 staff members sitting on their computers, I asked for an update from the front desk and they had a staff member tell me they don't have enough hands to draw blood yet. The blood draw took 2 people, and about 2 minutes. Keep in mind they couldn't do that for nearly two hours, while Colfax had it done in minutes. They were not even busy there. The doctor did a handheld ultrasound probe and said she found nothing. The next day they did the same at Colfax and immediately identified pancreatitis and other inflamed organs. I unfortunately wasted quite a bit of money getting absolutely nowhere at VEG Edgewater, and made my cat extremely stressed in the process as they made no effort to keep him away from loud and foul smelling dogs. NO ONE SHOULD TRUST EDGEWATER WITH THEIR PETS. I never leave reviews but this experience was horrific. Edgewater is much more cramped, the staff is very cold (a cat even panicked in a kennel while we were there and the staff was just laughing about it), they apparently charge more than Colfax, and they give poor medical advice. AVOID THIS LOCATION, VEG COLFAX is astronomically better. They are awesome over there. Edgewater, you need to do a lot of work to improve to the standards of Colfax.

She graduated some PT training with them, gave me much anxiety when her legs would hurt her, and they were always the very best at sending her home with me happy and healthy. Sadly, the last time I brought her here, it was too late to save her. Nessie was a Bernese Mountain Dog and she had hemangiosarcoma which was undiagnosed. Her symptoms the morning of her passing was primarliy lethargy, not wanting food, and pale gums. Within moments of me realizing she wasn't doing well, I got her into the car and sped to the hospital. As we were driving her symptoms got worse and I called ahead to ask for immediate help. The team was out front when we arrived and we got her onto a gurnee. I wiped out one of her eye boogers and told her I'd be right there to take care of her. Nessie sadly didn't make it to surgery. Her heart gave out before we could help her. But I know she got the best way to leave this earth as she was barely in pain and she wouldn't have liked the cancer treatment we were planning for her. The team did a really good job helping me through the hardest thing I've ever been through. My one regret is I wish I had woken earlier that day and tried to get her help faster. But sometimes things don't go the way we want. I hope if you're in need of urgent care, you can get your pup here swiftly and allow the team to do their very best. It's a hard job these Vets and the team have, taking care of our sweet angels. I've put off on writing this review as even though it's been three months, still feels very fresh to not have my sweetheart by my side. Thank you team for all your help. She was the very best girl.

The vets and techs immediately began to help and diagnose, which included a clear treatment plan, and eventually surgery, all of which were necessary to save our dog. Dr. Thaeder, Dr, Martic, Dr. Schultz, Alexis, Sam, Becca, Kim, (and several others I'm undoubtedly forgetting) saved our dog in the most impressive, transparent, and compassionate way that I never knew existed. We witnessed every step of the process to diagnose and restore our dog's health. If you want to stay all night with your pet, you can. If you want to watch their x-rays, they have a window for that. If your pet needs an operation, you can observe that from a window if you want. If you need a private room, there are several. Apart from the deep knowledge and passion these vets clearly have, they treated our dog like a member of their own family and he clearly fell in love with them. He's already getting back to his ornery self each day, and we are so grateful!

The entire staff, especially the nurses and Dr. Pierce, was so knowledgeable and caring. We came in during a big rush but they got us checked in and shown into a private room right away. We ended up having to wait about 2.5 hours from when we came in to when our boy could get into surgery to repair the damage, but they were checking on us the whole time. The pricing was not nearly as bad as I expected, honestly pretty similar to what his primary vet would have charged for the same services. Dr. Pierce was very good about sitting down to explain options and providing clear guidance about what he thought would be best. So glad to know that this place is here in case we ever need emergency vet services again!

Our nurse was Courtney and she was AMAZING!! Tynkerbell licked her and let her pet her, which she never does. Courtney's kind demeanor and very obvious compassion allowed my anxious, traumatized dog to trust her which means so much to me. Courtney also explained the whole process to me; she understood our situation and took the time and patience with Tynkerbell that she needs. Her friendliness and calmness made me feel assured that my dog was in great hands under their care- which is not something I feel often!! We were treated by Dr. Brandon Reynolds who was also very friendly and informative! He explained everything in great detail, and I felt confident that he would be able to find the right course of treatment for Tynkerbell. I would highly recommend him. Overall, I would recommend this clinic to anybody looking for quality emergency care. The staff was beyond helpful, caring and just wonderful. The clinic was very clean and tidy. There was no wait time, we were put in a room immediately! They made my dog feel comfortable, which is something she rarely feels around strangers and new places. Huge shout-out to Courtney! :) A big thank you also to Dr. Reynolds and the rest of the support staff for being mindful of my dog's special needs and putting me at ease!
