Immediately the doctor did a quick once over before leaving to round up three techs to help with a complete exam. I have never witnessed any veterinarian doing such a thorough job in an exam before. There was not an inch of his body left out. Afterwards the doctor came up with a plan that included a series of X-rays, medication and a referral if needed. My dog left strapped to a stretcher and one week later walked comfortably into the office for his follow up. Her treatment plan was a success. The only problem is that his follow up appointment was not put into their computer correctly and so his doctor wasn't available when we showed up. Another doctor was available but I couldn't wait. Since my dog needed to have his blood drawn a super wonderful tech jumped in and took his blood before I left. I greatly appreciated her going an extra mile.

It wasn't a real emergency but it was urgent as my dog has been congested on and off for weeks and having bouts of difficulty breathing bc of it. I made an appointment with another vet bc per atlas a dental visit if needed would need to be 2 visits (lab work and then schedule the dental visit atleast a week later) and I didn't want to keep waiting for that phone call.

The best way of describing the experience is-red carpet treatment-overall. Dr. Herman, vet techs, surgical nurses, front desk staff, and physical therapy personnel have all been excellent. From the very start Dr Herman examined & confidently diagnosed Fiona, (TPLO), and it was decided the way to go was surgery. The limp was mild, but one day suddenly Fiona was not able to walk anymore, and it was time to urgently schedule the procedure. We scheduled easily & I was recommended to download their app, which is great because they clearly outline important details such as: how to prepare the recovery area, how to prepare your family to care for the pet, videos with at home exercises, what to expect, and very detailed recovery protocol and instructions by day... very useful specially because a key concern was being able to care for her post-op. Surgery day went as planned, i received phone updates, Dr Herman himself called me after surgery to advise all had gone well. When I picked her up, I had a detailed session with the surgical nurse to explain care protocol. I also signed up Fiona for therapy, which started 1 week post surgery with laser & shockwave therapy. At 4 weeks we started water treadmill. Anytime i had concerns, i called and they helped me clear my questions.. So far, It's been 8 weeks and Fiona is back to herself and seems on track for a complete recovery... I still need to keep her calm/supervised but shes doing great and I am beyond grateful for all the wonderful staff that has taken care of her. Highly recommended vet medical specialty facility. They have: Orthopedics, Cardio, ophthalmology & neuro specialists, and physical therapy for post-surgical recovery. *This is not a basic vet, meaning- no vaccines, or routine visits, this is for advanced care procedures. (Also- they provide all the adequate support to submit pet insurance claims) Forever grateful, highly recommended :)

We were referred here by our primary vet for the suspicion of a polyp in his ear, which the biopsy he had done at the vet suggested it might be. Though he had an xray and biopsy before, they insisted on a CT scan. They were able to fit us in the same day as our consultation. However, things went downhill upon pick up. They were about 30 mins late from pick up time. When they brought our cat to us, we noticed some blood on his paw, which we thought was from the IV sedation, but upon further inspection, they cut 2 of his nails down so badly to the point of bleeding. We were startled nobody addressed this with us. I asked to speak to the office manager about this, and I was told it happens, and they don't address it if it happens. Also, after paying about $2K for the scan, the results came in that it was "not a polyp." We were referred to a dermatologist, who took 1 look and said it was a polyp. The results from the lab also confirmed this. I am absolutely disappointed in the partners they use to read the results. I feel scammed out of $2K and would not in good faith recommend or come back here, even if it's a convenient location for us. I do appreciate that the doctor called us the day later to discuss how our cat was and let us know he was told about the situation with his nails so they did take our concern seriously.

She was calm, provided me several options, and worked with me in talking out the next steps. I never felt pressured to make a decision, but she did help me make an educated decision after explaining everything to me in detail. I recommend her care for any animal. She was quick in her diagnosis, which I know saved my dog. The staff was so sweet and empathetic. Even though they were so busy, they gave me and my pet the time and attention we needed. This Vet was obviously exhausted because the facility had several high emergency cases but we received the very best. The Vet & staff are beyond professional & compassionate. We had gotten so conned by UF & other facilities over the last few weeks but the staff showed understanding. His evaluation was exactly what we thought & feared but we are from a family of life-long proud pet parents & American veggie farmers. We're accustomed to pet loss & our moto is keep providing high quality care & homes for our rescued pet pals & afford them a dignified transition after a well lived life. (2) It took UF Small Animal Hospital in Gainsville $7,223.95 of our resources to tell us our pet pal was ready for release. They have a state of the art facility. After we drew the line at $10K, suddenly he was cured & ready for release even though we asked the Vet & students over 9-times between 06/24/24-7/2/23 if we were throwing financial resources at a problem that would not yield a positive outcome for our pet pal. After we declined the $10K, they cd not wait to release him. They even wrote the wrong release date on the invoice. "Is he suffering? Should we let him go? Is this treatable at home?" We asked and asked & all we got was charges & reassurances. 3-hours after UF release him, we rushed him to VEC & received the care we needed. If Dr. Ben is on duty, he's your guy. I trust him! (3) Don't waste you time, energy, & resources going to UF when this highly ethical facility is just around the corner. They also have state of the art equipment & the atmosphere is private & superb!

I had no problem doing so. I recieved an email from them confirming the appointment and if I needed to cancel or reschedule to call them. The morning of my appointment, my dog took a severe turn for the worse. I knew she was dying before my eyes. I personally left my dogs side to go to the clinic to talk to them about changing the appointment to the euthanasia procedure later that day. The cost was very high and out of my range for them to provide this service. I declined and politely asked for a refund of the security deposit. The secretary at the desk denied me the refund. I told her my dog was dying and I am here cancelling the appointment. She then said, "All deposits are non refundable". I was far too distressed to argue and left to get back to my dog. Approximately 7 hours later, my dog died. I felt it necessary to warn others of this companies refund policy when booking an appointment. Although I am certain they provide an excellent service, one that I will never be able to experience, they have a lot to learn about how to treat their customers when it comes to distress, heartache and trauma after losing a beloved pet. I did send an email out this morning to WIndermere Veterinary Services about my discontent. Whether they reply back to me, or not, is irrelevant at this point. It was the owner who had the secretary inform me I would not be getting my refund back. It was THIS decision that was made which prompted this ONE STAR REVIEW. I wish them well, but warn other potential customers to beware of their hidden policies. She blamed me for not realizing they charge for something they said I had previously paid for, yelled and stated false claims. Luckily there is a camera in their office.
