I received the absolute best service that anyone would want from a vet at Atlas. I came in with my…read more135 pound Doberman unable to use his back legs and was placed in a room. Immediately the doctor did a quick once over before leaving to round up three techs to help with a complete exam. I have never witnessed any veterinarian doing such a thorough job in an exam before. There was not an inch of his body left out. Afterwards the doctor came up with a plan that included a series of X-rays, medication and a referral if needed. My dog left strapped to a stretcher and one week later walked comfortably into the office for his follow up. Her treatment plan was a success. The only problem is that his follow up appointment was not put into their computer correctly and so his doctor wasn't available when we showed up. Another doctor was available but I couldn't wait. Since my dog needed to have his blood drawn a super wonderful tech jumped in and took his blood before I left. I greatly appreciated her going an extra mile.

Felt like my concerns were heard and felt like this could be another place to take my dog for more serious concerns as my regular vet is a limited vet. The second visit for the same issue was ok, waited a bit longer and again Dr. Cuevas was very nice and still listened to my concerns. Gave options and again felt like I could come back if needed. I called to make another appointment as my dog was still having the same issue after trying the options and wanted to dig deeper with radiology and possibly a dental visit. I was told that I would receive a call back to schedule this visit by the end of the day. I did not receive a phone call that day, nor the next day.. It wasn't a real emergency but it was urgent as my dog has been congested on and off for weeks and having bouts of difficulty breathing bc of it. I made an appointment with another vet bc per atlas a dental visit if needed would need to be 2 visits (lab work and then schedule the dental visit atleast a week later) and I didn't want to keep waiting for that phone call.

It's a bad place to go. In March, I took two pets in for nail trims. I told the technician they…read moreboth had extra dewclaws on all fours. I paid the bill. Yesterday, the male dog gave a pain yelp. I checked him; his dewclaw on his right rear leg was never trimmed. Had the technician checked, they would have seen the dewclaw was so long it had grown into his toe and was infected. I made an appointment today; they cut the nail, gave me antibiotics and pain meds, and charged $170.00. I explained I was there last month to have the nails and dewclaws trimmed, and their neglect caused me to pay more. I asked why the bill was so high. They told me I am not getting a discount or any money back because the technician could have trimmed the dewclaw. I said there is no way the dewclaw can grow a half inch in one month. I then said, " You people are all about the money, " and hung up. DON'T GO THERE.

I can't tell if it's absent mindedness or if these people are just maliciously incompetent. If you…read morelove your animal, don't take them to these people. My pet died because of their negligence. They treated him for the wrong thing entirely because the vet tech told the doctor the wrong things. Symptoms I never even had issue with were on his record. I thought that was the whole point pf speaking with a doctor - to confirm the vet tech report and to discuss treatment. I couldn't get a consistent answer about his blood work results either. She was very dismissive about my concerns and proceeded as if it was just a routine issue. She then tried to put a known diabetic on a steroid and when I questioned it and said that those two things don't mix she said "ohh" like she didn't know this before?? Now I also need to talk about the cleanliness of the place. Worst facility I've ever seen. Animal shelters are cleaner than this place. I was grossed out after my first visit and mistakenly gave them a second chance giving them the benefit of doubt. Exposed medical waste were left in the garbage by the exam table. Every other facility cleans up after each patient. I could smell dog pee and the seating inside of the exam rooms are coated in grime. There are also two doors in these rooms. One for when you and your pet enter, and one on the inside for the staff to go back and forth easier with animals. There's a window at the bottom like a doggy door and one at the top. Both of these are disgusting with smears from pets and people. Like weeks worth of build up. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I saw the reviews sooner on yelp because Google has them at 4 stars. They also DO NOT work with Chewy and charge double for what scripts cost anywhere else. They refuse to tell you which medication it is until you say yes or no and if you want to get it somewhere else, they charge you 20$ for a written script. No one cares about the animals here. It's all a money grab. No sympathy or respect, and they should be shut down for malpractice

It is very…read moreobvious to me that they really do place the animals & rehoming the animals above everything. They were prompt to tell me that Big Red's status was clear immediately after his neutering & that our application process/vetting was done. I filled the paperwork Sunday, that same week Big Red was neutered Wednesday/Thursday, and when they reopened on Friday we picked him up promptly at 10am he was ready & raring to go & be a part of his new little family. Big Red, (now Frohike) - is a fighter. Audrey showed me photos of when they picked him up & I was shocked - his eye was completely swollen shut, he was thin, & sickly. He's got a wonky eye that is completely cosmetic, but even in that imperfection he's perfect. He's a loving, sweet, healthy little guy & he completely acclimated to our Orlando Cat Cafe alumni, Bart (now Reznor). They take the most severe cases & are a no-kill Shelter. That's a lot of responsibility for a shelter to ensure the animals go to the right homes. Yes their pricing is more expensive but who can place a price on good care for the animals & the responsible vetting to make sure they go to a forever home? Our cost was the same as Bart from the Orlando Cat Cafe - it was $150, but I am confident of the care they put into Big Red. It was worth every penny & I know it will go towards that awesome campus & medical care & shelter for the animals. I will always recommend them if you want to see the true nature of your future pet & ensure they are a perfect fit for your family.
