Only adding a star for the nice woman who helped us (Tori). The rest of the experience:…read more 1. Not allowed to hold the puppy or go into an enclosure even though we were serious buyers. 2. When we paid for the puppy he reeked. 3. Told he had his shots and was visited twice by a vet. Impossible the vet didn't know his condition. (See 4) 4. Puppy has had vicious diarrhea (our house is a war zone) since we brought him home. Took him to vet and he tested positive for Coccidia and Giardia. Highly contagious and we have another dog and small kids. 5. Dog also has a heart murmur but the pet shop said it could be from travel or stress so I'm not going to panic about this one just yet. We did submit a claim for the vet bills. I think they only reimburse up to $1k. We are at $220 and need to get retested in a few weeks and will likely need more meds. Add a test and meds for our other dog as well and we are racking up costs for what should have been a healthy dog. And forget everything we've had to toss and the rugs that will need to be cleaned after all this. Not a good way to start what should be a beautiful time with our new boy. Why are the dogs not being tested and treated for parasites? Why was the dog given to us with vicious diarrhea? So many questions.. but clearly either they need a new vet or they need to get more involved in making sure the dogs are healthy.

I asked whether Royal Canin and Pro Plan's large breed puppy food was good, they said no those are not good food for my puppy. My golden was underweight according to the vet. On June 15, 2026, at approximately 1:00a.m., I brought my dog to Weymouth Animal Hospital because…read morehe had a large fish hook in his lip and tongue. My dog is an 80 pound male German Shepherd who not only was in extreme pain, but also petrified of the vet and he become aggressive. (He was hit by a car when he was a puppy and hates the vet. He was treated at this emergency room). Due to the fish hook, I could not muzzle him. I did let staff know he should be sedated in order to be seen. I had my dog on a prong collar and under my control at all times. The vet tech that came out was very rude and took him in the back. I also informed her he should be sedated, he hates the vet. Moments later, I could hear my dog screaming and crying in the back and I knew it was not going well. After several minutes, the tech came out in huff, called me in, was extremely angry and stated due to his aggressive nature, they could not examine him. She basically threw the leash at me. She put us in the waiting room and said the vet would be in to speak with me. The vet came in and explained the dog needed to be sedated, which I said, I know, I already told them. She then told me the staff were not willing to do it and I needed to go to another emergency room, such as Angell Memorial. They refused to treat him. I have never been so appalled by an animal hospital in my whole life. The fact that you are an emergency hospital and you have staff that are scared or unwilling to handle an aggressive dog that needed treatment is unacceptable. At no point in time did I not relay this and I had him under control at all times. Your tech's nor your vet were willing to handle him, let alone examine him and there is no excuse. You can't pick and choose which animals you treat and if you have staff that can't handle an aggressive animal, they should not be in this field. My dog was in pain and they were useless.
