So last night at 2am I discovered our long time central air had kicked the bucket....no problem…read moresince every day this week it been near or at 100 degrees. So I called an A/C service who said they would be there in the morning. They never showed but they finally called at 12:40 saying maybe tomorrow. Nope! Bubye...I called a local company...not a chain but a family business...with a receptionist who asked me to describe the problem. After hearing the issue she said it's probably a capacitor that costs about 32 bucks at Ace Hardware but if we come put it on there'd be a $450 charge. So I Googled and You Tubed...how do you fix a capacitor on a Trane A/C? After watching a couple...I went to Ace and bought a new capacitor...yanked the old one off and put the new one on...with a little bit of Jerry-rigging as it was skinnier than the old one and didn't fit the bracket...and voila! Air conditioner is humming along nicely!!! Saved a lot of money! Thanks Dorothy at Davey Heating and Cooling! It's nice to have great customer service even though I never used your service. Who does that any more! Well done!

Dorothy offered to schedule a tech that afternoon and then started running through the most common causes. With her on the line I found a blown fuse on the units motherboard and was able to replace it (props to Home Depot for having them in stock). Bottom line, she was polite, responsive AND helped me solve the issue over the phone at no cost. I will definitely call Davey Heating and Air for all my HVAC needs in the future.

Joe is The GOAT. Just moved into the new place and needed a new water heater. I received many…read morequotes that started at 5k and they used scare tactics to push for upgrades and unnecessary work. Thankfully I found Joe. He was knowledgeable, funny, a great guy and didn't try to upsell a thing. He replaced my water heater at a great price. While he was here my sewer was backing up when he tried to drain the water heater. He asked that we get it cleared before he finished the job. We called Homeservice plumbers and they came out, said there was a block and they would have to tear up the basement and the starting price was almost 7k. More if they found other problems and they repeatedly tried to use, used car sales tactics and scare tactics to get me to replace Joe as my plumber and destroy the basement to clear a "block". Joe recommended Colorado Sewer Service and they came out and cleared the "block" in 10 minutes for 1/50th of what they were going to charge to tear up the basement and install a new unnecessary pipe just to begin with, which I am sure they would have tried to turn into a 20k plus job. Joe did a fast and excellent job and is just a good human being. I cannot say enough good things about this man and his business. Without a doubt I will use him for every job I need in the future. You are the best Joe, thank you again for all you did and for being Honest!

It took months to get the appliances etc and now we had no installer. I had called AAARK for the furnace and noticed they also do remodel work. I called to schedule an inspection and they scheduled me the next day. Three guys showed up and got the work done. Months of dealing with other companies wasted. I wish I had called AAARK from the start. Nice guys. Efficient. They did what they said they would do. And they knew what needed to be done. I will use this company again without hesitation.

One of the most unprofessional and disappointing experiences I've ever had with a contractor…read more AAARK Heating, Air & Plumbing installed a tankless water heater in my home about 15 years ago. The original installation was done by an 18- or 19-year-old technician who stated he was the owner's son. To be fair, I understand that building and electrical codes can change over the course of 15 years. However, even accounting for that, I've since learned there were serious issues with the installation that go beyond simple code updates. During maintenance a couple of years ago, I was told the unit appeared to have been dropped, leaving a visible dent on its side. Additionally, the unit was powered using a long extension cord run across the basement, which is difficult to justify as acceptable workmanship even at the time of installation. Now that I'm looking into replacement, I've been told it will cost $2,200 just to bring the existing setup up to current code, correcting issues tied directly to how the system was originally installed. When I recently called to ask--calmly and reasonably--whether there was anything AAARK could do to help offset the cost of correcting these issues, the response was unacceptable. Titus, who said he was the owner, called me back and immediately became hostile. Before the conversation even began, he stated there was no way he would help, talked over me repeatedly, told me we were "no longer a customer so it doesn't matter," and then hung up on me. Codes change. Professionalism, accountability, and basic respect should not. Based on the original workmanship and the way this situation was handled years later, I cannot recommend AAARK Heating, Air & Plumbing. There are other companies that take responsibility for their work and treat customers with basic decency--AAARK is clearly not one of them.
