As others have stated the optometrist was super nice , I really liked her. But everyone else was RUDE. Especially the male who works there trying to peddle expensive eyewear and contacts on you. When I told him I couldn't afford his high eye glass price quoted he rudely dismissed me. The same boxes of contacts they sell can be found online for over half as much. My wife and I found Dr. Wagner when we moved to the valley in '05. We moved to Long Beach over 3 years ago and keep coming back because he and his staff are simply the best. Dr. Wagner takes the time to get our prescriptions perfect. I have never felt rushed when I'm there, I always feel like I'm the most important client. Also, ever had your eyes dilated and then been practically blind for a few hours afterwards? No worries with V-Eye-P...they can do an "Optomap" that gives Dr. Wagner a computer image allowing him to review the inner workings of your eye with more accuracy than dilation. He then compares the image to past year's images to assess how you are doing...and with zero blindness afterwards! To me, this is just the best. I have just ordered my second pair of glasses from Raymond who again has shown great patience in helping me find the right glasses for my head shape and tastes. I couldn't be happier. But the next thing you read I hope puts real perspective on how I feel about everyone at V-Eye-P. In June I went for my annual exam with Dr. Wagner. Everything went great as usual. My eyeglass prescription changed slightly and since I was still happy with my Alain Mikli's that Raymond had helped me with 5 years ago I decided to save a few bucks and go to Costco for the new lenses. What a mistake! 10 days after their staff assured me their lab could handle the job I got my glasses back only to find a visible gap between the lower edge of the left lens and the frame of the glasses...poor workmanship! If that wasn't enough, they actually broke the plastic of the right arm. I couldn't believe it. To save a few bucks I had permanantly ruined my Mikli's. Costco refunded the new lenses of course and then settled with me for the value of my frames so I'll give them that. However, I have learned my lesson and will never be disloyal again to Dr. Wagner and crew. I've ordered a new pair of Zero G's and should have them in about a week. Went in for glasses. They said they would call me in a week when they arrived so that I could pick them up. A MONTH passed and no call. So I decided to call. They said that they had them. If I wouldn't have called myself they would have never called me to pick them up. Maybe they're hoping you'll eventually forget and they can keep your money without giving you anything... I went in for an eye exam and to get new glasses and had the absolute best experience! First of the office is so clean and nice. They had a play area for my 3 year old which was tucked away in the back but perfect as I had not planned on bringing her. They had so much advanced equipment and the eye dr was very informative and made me feel at ease. This place has great frames-- the best selection in the area for my tastes and I did the footwork and checked out most of the optometrists within about 15 miles. I really like the service that I received by the doctor and staff. The staff were really helpfull In picking a new frame for me. I have been wearing contact lenses for years but recently decided to style up with frames. I really felt comfortable with the advice that Raymond gave me about frames. I spent over an hour with him and really liked the fact he did not rush me and was very patient. I sure I could have saved a few bucks finding lenses online but I felt the price was fair. Been here a couple times. Dr. Wagner is great! My previous optometrist had given me a contact prescription that was too strong and he and his staff helped me figure out what was right not only prescription-wise, but for my lifestyle. He's also cool to talk to while you're doing the exam. Raymond was also very very helpful in helping me choose a pair of glasses. I didn't go in intending to buy glasses, but I really did need a new pair (I was going on 5 years with the current pair and the prescription was outdated) so when Dr. Wagner suggested I get a pair I figured I'd at least check out the cost/what my insurance covered and go from there. I explained that I really don't have a lot of money to spend on glasses, and Raymond was totally understanding. He sat down and did some math with me based on what my insurance would pay for if I got glasses and contacts (on top of the office visit). We figured out what would be the cheapest way to get both, which was really nice. He also threw in a nicer pair of lenses than my insurance would pay for but charged me for the cheaper lenses. Once he figured out the math he checked with me to make sure that I was okay with the total amount, and offered to have me pay part of it that day and part of it when I picked everything up. Overall, even though I spent more than I had intended to (I was just going to get contacts), I really did need new glasses and I'm very happy with how helpful Raymond was and how understanding he was about how poor I am.
