Well it's official. After many years and many pizzas i have finally found the best slice shop in phoenix. This review is for a counter service slice spot. I live in north phoenix so this trip took a bit but found myself downtown today and finally!!! Soooo good. Please open up a spot in north phoenix!!!!! Cool little place. Great staff. Small place. Only 7 tables. Highly recommended!!!!!

I really wish that I had a different experience, but Via just did not do it for me :( My pizza was soggy. It did not pass the flop test. Not even close. Had to hold it up with two hands. And I ate it right away in my car, so it wasn't sitting. Idk if it was due to how they reheated the slices or if my slices had just been there for too long, but it was super underwhelming. That said, the white pizza was def my fave as far as flavor, and the sesame seeds were a great touch! The Caesar salad dressing was also really, really good! And the salad had lots of croutons. But for 15 bucks I wouldn't get it again. It was 90% lettuce. My other gripe was definitely the parking. There are a few free spaces in the front, but the lot in the back must be paid for and it only has 6- or 12- hour options. It was like $11 to park - basically the same price as 2 slices of pizza! I risked it all and did not pay which gave me anxiety lol. Not their fault at all but parking totally sucks. Pricing of the food is my final thought - for 2 slices and the salad it was almost $30 with tip. That's a lot for a meal just for me! I read that they're using really good quality ingredients and I am a big fan of that and willing to pay for it, but in this case, the flavor of everything just didn't add up to the cost.

This place was across the street from our hotel and it was late but they were still open so we decided to grab a slice. It was one hour before closing so there wasn't a huge selection of slices in the display case. The grandma style with pepperoni seemed to be the freshest so we ordered two of those. The girl behind the counter was nice and quick to take our order. Our slices were delivered after a quick heat up in the oven and they were hot and tasty! Topped off with fresh hand torn basil and freshly grated Parmesan. Next time I'd like to order a whole pie to judge the pizza better when I know it's fresh from the oven... but for a reheated slice it was pretty good.

10/10 casual pizza place if you want a quick grab. Each slice was about $5.50 and huge! My favorite was the vodka slice, as a vodka pasta lover, this HIT! The crust was nice and thin and crispy throughout the slice. Every slice that I got was so good but definitely recommend the vodka one. We had to wait a bit for the pepperoni slice since they were out at the time, but it was only a 10 min wait and we were in no rush so it was great. I highly recommend coming here for a quick bite with friends. I also heard their wings are really good, so I will be trying that next time, and getting that vodka slice.

We were in the area for the Nutcracker, and used the parking lot directly behind this pizza spot. Honestly if we were here just for the pizza spot 30$ parking is a little much to eat a slice of pizza! Loved the spot it's located, as we walked in the girl was very sweet, she told me what the most popular pizza was. " the Phoenix " We ordered the wings, two slices of pepperoni, one slice of spicy sausage with pepperoni and then the Phoenix. Honestly we didn't like there there were no fountain drinks just bottle. But they had good options! They bright the pizza up our table and honestly looking at the pizza even though it just came "out " it looked like it had been sitting all day it just did not look like fresh pizzas. They all looked so similar that when they gave us the pizzas my husband couldn't tell between the spicy sausage and the Phoenix because they look pretty similar. They both had spicy honey on them. One just had a little bit more decoration and that's how I noticed which one was which, but when they set it down, he could have explained to us, which was which Pizza!. I feel like the menu could have had a description of what was on the pizzas. My husband did not know that the spicy sausage and pepperoni was going to have honey on it or else he would have ordered it without that so the ingredients of the pizza if they're adding something so different like that should be on the menu. We got two orders of wings equating like 18-20 they gave two ranch and washed to charge for an extra. Now with that many wings and two separate orders you would think that each basket would come with 2 sides each at least!! The vibe in there was cool but a little dim, the positioning of the TV was not accommodating to guests! The restroom was not very clean. But the music was good!! It was not the best or worst place!!

What a great place to kickback, unwind and enjoy an outside and inside of you. The pizza is only five dollars per slice and it's absolutely delicious. They have a whole menu and assirtion of choices to choose from. My girlfriend and I grabbed a seat outside, and we had a server and didn't even know it. She was so kind dropped our food off after ordering and asked us if we need anything else. Water was self served, which was also pretty convenient. I cannot wait to come back again and bring my boyfriend. 10 out of 10.

Such a cute little New York style pizza shop in downtown Phoenix. Great location near a few music venues and sports arenas for a quick bite before the game. Order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. Well made delicious pizza. There are so many more different types of pizza I want to try. I will going back.

Amazing New York style pizza shop in Phoenix! My husband is in some Phoenix pizza groups and we decided to try this shop after hearing great things about it! This is the perfect spot to go when you're hungry. Service was quick and slices were fresh and ready to go. We ordered the spices sausage and the vodka pizza. Portion sizes were as expected for a slice of pizza. The crust was perfectly crunchy and thin. The flavor of the spicy sausage was our favorite! The space is clean and has an industrial vibe with exposed brick and neon signs. There's movies playing. Seems like a good place to go in game days as well. Street parking was available in front of the store when we went for early lunch on a Saturday.

The pizza is bomb, the wings are good too but I wish I would have asked for more sauce and they were also a little salty for me. I'm surprised with how many times I've been to The Van Buren and I had not noticed it. We went for lunch and parking was not bad at all, I parked behind the pizza shop and didn't have to pay for it. The service was quick and the employees were friendly. The place is small but chill. Will definitely go back to try the other slices.

I was excited to scratch VDSS off my must try list. They had the closest thing to a real NY slice since I moved here from NY years ago. Excellent crisp, good food, the toppings were creative but not over the top. Tried a vodka pizza. A little pricy at almost $6/slice but worth it. A great lunch or late night meal downtown.

This is a great place for quick lunch in the DT area. Slices make it really easy to try different combinations of pizza and order comes very quickly. Every slice (5-6) I've tried so far has been very delicious and there's lot of vegetarian options (arugula and pistachio I think might be their best combination). Service is pretty quick.

The only pizza place you'll find me planning my whole Saturday afternoon around? Via Della Slice Shop. I'm a huge fan of a good New York slice, and this is a spot that does it right. You'll get a crisp crust that doesn't break when you fold and a perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio that doesn't leave your slice soggy. Plus, the creative flavors are impeccable. Highly recommend the Spicy Sausage -- the hot honey, chilis, and ricotta perfectly balanced the classic sausage pizza. The White surprised me as the runner up, with a richly caramelized onion jam and an aromatic sesame crust. The Phoenix (spicy salami with hot honey) and DiParma (prosciutto and ricotta) are also great. Via Della also has full pies and grandma style available, so it's perfect for all occasions! Don't miss out. Service is fantastic. The facility is clean with plenty of seating and drink options. Most parking is paid (alley is pricey), but I've usually had no problem finding meters in the area unless there's a concert or event.

Great, new york style slice. We had the di parma, pepperoni, and vodka slice. Vodka was my favorite, but all of it was great. Crispy bottom, and good quality ingredients for sure. The pizza is heated to order, and it came out pretty quickly. The restaurant was clean and had a decent amount of seating, but parking is paid or hard to find.

I go here for lunch at least a couple times a month. Pretty easily my favorite pizza in the valley. Have tried all the flavors and they're all good. Service is always good, whole place feels like a downtown pizza place should feel. read more

Pizza is pretty good, loved their dough! Knocking off a star because their service is pretty lame. The tables were gross and when ordering we shared it was our first time, the guy at the register couldn't care less to be helpful. He stared at us blankly when we asked what he'd recommend or what the most popular option was. It was quite awkward, other than that solid pizza in dtwn Phx. read more

Cool spot in downtown Phoenix. It does seem like more of a to-go place. They have 10 different type of slices, full pies, wings, salads and sandwiches. We tried a few different slices and the golden wings with blue cheese. The wings were good, crispy and very hot. The pizza was good - the sauce was the best part. A ton of flavor and very fresh. The slices were very greasy, crispy, and thin. They seemed slightly under staffed so it did take awhile. The best slice we had was the spicy sausage. read more

One of my favorite pizza places in Phoenix. Giant NY slices with premium ingredients. However Idk what's in the air lately (summertime sadness?) but they look absolutely miserable behind the counter. Hope they turn their frowns upside down soon. read more

I'm not from the area but I've tried this pizza on a couple of visits and I'm at the point where you honestly can't pry me away from the state of Arizona with a crowbar before stopping by this place for a couple slices or full pies. The pizza is absolutely phenomenal. Great friendly staff as well. I'll be back every time I'm anywhere near Phoenix. read more

I have no idea about the food, this review is based on a particular experience with a gentleman who works there. Last night I was in a long line for a show at the Van Buren, I really needed to use the restroom and was also very thirsty so ran here to purchase a drink and use the restroom. As reasonably anticipated, I was informed restrooms are for customers only. What wasn't fine is that it was dictated that I would not be considered a paying customer unless I specifically bought food. I was not hungry, I did not want food. I ordered a slice and drink and told the very nice girl at the register that I was not interested in the pizza and to just keep it. I understand that you are a business and that you require someone to be a paying customer to use your facilities, but dictating what that means felt like you don't value your customers or their experience, just that you can squeeze money out of them. So please, keep your pizza. read more

Super busy on a Saturday night. Got there right before the rush about 6pm. It is a tiny shop, about 8 tables, sits 2-4 comfortably each. No soda on tap, only cans/bottles, but they keep the drinks (including alcohol) simple to focus on the real star, thin crust pizza. Flavor components include a great char on the crust, even tangy:sweet ratio of the tomato sauce, spicy salami or sausage, creamy rich ricotta, that all come together for the slices. We got a Phoenix, spicy sausage, and green. Our friends got a basket of honey wings so we sampled that too. Great crisp, naked wings with a light sweet sauce, yummy! A little on the pricey side, ~ $5.50/slice. We wanted to order a whole pie, but the wait on that would have been 3 hrs! Parking is street meter, don't get bamboozled by the park and pay $30/stalls. We were happy, tummy's full, I'd go again. read more

I was able to cross another Yelp location of my bucket list! Nothing like a slice of za! We were out and about downtown and found ourselves walking distance from Via Della Slice Shop, and honestly I love all types of pizza, but a slice shop really hits the spot. I loved the vibe, it was sort of moody, but also cozy. Shop is not large by any means, but it doesn't need to be. Has enough booths and tables to cover a quick bite. Their menu lists all the Kayce's they have and the price for a slice or a pie if you so choose. In addition, they have wings a few simple sides and bonus limoncello! Though they were sold out this fine evening - but will be returning and ordering on my next visit! The list most of the ingredients and pizza type right on the glass case in front of the pizza, which is appreciated. They over some canned wines, beers and seltzers behind the counter as well. You order at the counter and take your number to your table, few minutes pass and slices are delivered right in front of ya. We opted for the Spicy Salami, Vodka, White and Green Chile, with a couple sides of ranch! All the slices were delicious with unique flavor profiles. The white slice had onion jam, the green Chile had pistachios. I love a classics slice, but having a twist on classics is also very welcomed. Dough is made in house, delicious thin crust might I add, though it seems like everything is made in house and fresh. Ingredients were top notch. I look forward to a return visit, perhaps try deep dish grandmas slice or get a whole pie & hopefully some of that limoncello! read more

This is the best NY style pizza spot in AZ. Not even close. This is also one of the best vodka slices I've had and that's not just in az. Highly recommend getting a fresh pie here. Super thin crust. Great crunch, super fresh cheese and they use a Parmesan mix in their cheese it's so good. The parking will be tricky on a busy day downtown but usually there's spots in front or in their private lot. There is I assume always parking in the paid lot around the corner. Highly recommend. Go here, it reminds me of home(NJ). read more

Love love this place!! Was looking for a pizza place that just does pizza by the slice all day not only for the "lunch" hour and I found this restaurant! Very reasonable priced! Very cool vibe as well! The cashier was also very nice which always a plus! I got the original and my boyfriend got the pepperoni! Oh and the ranch is very tasty as well!! Best Pizza in all of Arizona Alert ‼ This New Jersey Pizza Snob has Finally attained Pizza Nirvana in the Desert I first came here in January after a Led Zeppelin Tribute Band across the street at The Van Buren ...it was The Best pizza in Arizona I have ever had I decided based off that one visit. I have since been here a few times and my feeling about it still stands - Via Della is by far the best I've had in my 30+ years here in AZ. (I arrived here in August 1992 to go to ASU). I am never talking "it's The Best..." because really - is one pizza joint or one burger joint The Best ...there's too many of them and we've been to too many good places during our lives that's it's hard to say - but I can say with 100% confidence this place is by far The Best Pizza in Arizona. Incidentally when I started typing this, a Led Zeppelin song was on the sound system - so maybe that subconsciously triggered me to to write this as I've been wanting to write a Review about this place since that first night. read more

We came in on a Thursday evening. The area was super busy but there were seats in the restaurant. Parking in the area is terrible. It was about $40 to park. Luckily the pizza was really tasty. I tried all the "vegetarian" slices. I enjoyed all of them but the white slice was my favorite. I haven't had a slice shop slice in a while. Im happy to break my sliceless streak with such a great slice. read more

I loved the vibe, anime on the tv and great music! The pizza was super affordable and the portions were great! I got full off of one giant slice and shared the 6 piece wing with a friend. I recommend the HOT HONEY so good. Staff was super nice and the food came out quick :) read more

Anyone who states that this business sells New York style pizza either never ate a New York pizza, has no taste in pizza or is straight up not being truthful . I was born and raised in New York I know what real pizza taste like. This business wings are good that's about it their service sucks, it's too pricey and not worth it only the bougie enjoy this place. read more

"Pizza dudes got 30 seconds!"-TMNT This maybe my favorite place to get a slice of pizza in downtown Phx! Came here on a Sunday after the Cards game. Wasn't too busy when we showed up but it did have it wave of the busy crowd while we ate. Located downtown, so of course parking is limited or pay to park but luckily we found a spot at no charge. The restaurant is located in a black brick building-which may be tricky to find because the store front only has a small sign on the door. Nevertheless, your GPS will get you there! Staff was great and greeted a right away at the door. I ordered the Phoenix 9.4/10, the Spicy Sausage 9.5/10, the Di Parma 9.3/10, and some honey hot/bbq hot wings. Wow every bite was so savory. The thin crust was consistent with every bite. I really enjoyed the spicy sausage pizza because it was hot from the peppers and yet sweet from the honey. I'd get this slice again. The wings were also a hit! The staff was great in suggesting sauces. My favorite was the honey hot. I'd love to bring my husband back here so he gets the full experience that I did. read more

The pizza was good and wings were ok All I'm saying is, customer service is everything. The guy up front definitely DID NOT want to work today. Not friendly at all and seemed super annoyed. I loved this pizza. It's slightly upscaled from a generic slice, so it costs a little extra at around 4-5.50 a slice. I'd come back in a heartbeat though -- the spicy sausage stole the show. read more

This place is super good. I traveled downtown from Uptown so I'm glad my trip was justified. The space is chill and relaxing. Parking can be a trick but that's how it goes downtown. I got a canned beer (Church Music), 6 wings with the hot honey sauce a slice of the vodka pie and the prosciutto sandwich. The wings were piping hot and that hot honey sauce was so tasty. The slice was awesome (great crust) and a good size. The sandwich was served cold, the fresh focaccia was so nice. It had just the right amount of sea salt and toasted perfectly. The mix of the brie and fig jam added so much flavor. The service was great, very pleasant and nice. read more

This past week I ate at via della 3 times. That was not my intention, but it was a very delightful outcome. The vibes: chill, friendly service, clean, well-lit, and spacious. The food: I've only had the pizza and that alone brought me back multiple times last week. I know that a slice of the white will be my go-to. The caramelized onions are the perfect amount of sweetness. Nothing is overpowering and there's a perfect blend of all the flavors. We were visiting AZ and decided to stop by at this pizza shop. AH! It was so good we had to come twice in one weekend. It does get packed so the line does get quite long and the parking is also super limited but well worth it. We got two vodka, one cheese and one spicy sausage. Skip the spicy sausage all together and go for the vodka. you will not be disappointed! The music they play here is awesome and fits the whole vibe they got going on. I'm incredibly impressed with this place! My boyfriend is a pizza enthusiast and we've been trying every pizza place we can find here in Arizona. He saw a YouTube video of Dave Portnoy giving a review on this place, so we just had to try it out for ourselves. We took our pizza to go but it was still hot when we got home. The Di Parma was to dieeeee for! The crust was well done on the bottom (I prefer mine this way). The Phoenix was also amazing. Only wish that there was more basil on it (I'm a basil lover). The hot honey just sent it over the edge. The cannoli ‍ I was afraid that it was going to be too sweet, but it was subtle and probably the hands down the best cannoli I've ever had. Yo.... This place is legit. I was in the mood for NY style pizza and wanted to find some place local. After checking out the reviews on Yelp I thought we would give it a shot and I'm glad we did. I had the Spicy Sausage slice and the Pickle. My wife got The Green and some wings. I love getting weird sounding items and the pickle didn't disappoint. The white sauce was unreal, the pickles were incredible and the compliment of the candied bacon was out of this world. I spicy sausage honey combo was equally fire but oddly id say I like the pickle better - a shock to even myself! The wings were insane. I'm a psycho wing fanatic and I've tried buffalo wings all over the country and these might just be my favorite. First, the crunch factor on the skin was a very nice touch, it may be the breading they use? The wings were a bit expensive but they were meaty and plump. The sauce was our favorite part. Very good tangy and perfectly done. Not too thick, not too thin. The green was super flavorful and aromatic, light and delicious and even a tad spicy. Overall, this is my favorite pizza joint in Phoenix so far. The service could have been better. To get here, there is an adjacent parking garage and the restaurant will validate your parking. Inside, they have a gorgeous interior with a good amount of seating. Wifey and I had brunch reservations and were seated right away. For their menu, they have a nice selection of uniquely crafted items to choose from. I got the Pyro Cheeseburger, she got the Sweet Potato Hash, and we got the Ube Panna Cotta for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a great time here. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely consider booking your next table here and you will not regret it!

The decor is super adorable, but honestly, the food is what really stood out. We ordered the Tom Kha, Pad Thai, and combination fried rice, and everything was so good. The Pad Thai had amazing flavor. We got everything at a medium spice level, which was perfect for me. I also loved that they let you choose from mild all the way up to extra Thai hot...my fiancé loves super spicy food, so that was a big plus since not every place offers that. We ate everything between the two of us. That's how good it was. The service was also great. He kept checking in on us without being over the top, which I appreciated.

The drinks had elegant garnish, and were well made. The most complicated might have been a vodka soda, but the additional touch was nice. For a start we ordered the oysters, which was kept everyone stuck between being nice and fair, and wanting to take all for themselves. We also ordered the octupus which was very good. For my main, I had the salmom rillete. Well made and pesented - I only thought to take pictures after I ate. Our group was never rushed for the bill and we enjoyed a beautiful evening sitting on their porch. I am looking forward to going back more "prepared" and enjoying their seabass or beef bourguignon.

I even chose to spend Mother's Day here this year because it has always been one of my favorite local spots. Over the years, we've brought our small 12-pound bichon on several occasions and comfortably dined on the patio without issue. Unfortunately, during today's visit, we were told that animals are no longer allowed on the patio and were instead directed to sit on the metal benches in front of the restaurant ...benches that had no table space and clearly were not set up for dining. What made the experience disappointing wasn't necessarily the policy itself, but the way it was handled. As longtime patrons who have supported this restaurant regularly for years to be on a regular basis with staff, the interaction felt dismissive and honestly a little offensive. It was surprising to feel so unwelcome at a place we've consistently supported and recommended to others. I still value this restaurant and appreciate the many good experiences we've had here over the years, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. I hope management takes customer loyalty and consistency of service more seriously moving forward.

I called and ordered pizza to pick up. The pizza was very good and I am pretty picky with pizza. The crust wasn't too thick and it wasn't too thin. I had ordered a sausage and pepperoni meaning just sausage and pepperoni on it but it's one of their specialty pizzas. I asked and they said they don't make them like that and only what's on the menu. That's the only negative that I have. The workers are very nice and did offer to remake it but I told them it was fine. It worked out and we ate it. I also got wings and was surprised how good the wings were from a pizza place. They were crispy and fresh and I like the honey on it. I will definitely order again even though it's a bit far. read more

I'm happy to write about my excellent experience at Via Della Slice Shop and am very excited to be giving my first Yelp review. After a demanding workday, I was wishing for pizza and, without knowing what to expect, I noticed this pizza place. I entered and was immediately struck by how welcoming the atmosphere was. Luckily, it was the ideal time because it wasn't too crowded, so I could enjoy my pizza and drink in a laid-back atmosphere. It ended up being the perfect way to end my day, and Via Della Slice Shop has now cemented itself as one of my favorite spots to get a fulfilling pizza fix. I found Via Della Slice Shop while browsing online and saw they had cannolis, so I had to try it. My partner and I ordered a whole pizza, half pepperoni and half vodka. The pizza was fantastic--classic NY style, large, thin, foldable, and fresh ingredients. Prices were reasonable too. The cannoli was decent but missing chocolate chips and not the best I've had; that's my only minor complaint. The staff was friendly, parking was easy, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We'll definitely return! They also have a variety of canned/bottled soda, mineral water, wine, hard cider, and beer. read more

This place nails it every time! The Pizza slice was authentic, with a wood-fired crust that's thin, crispy, and perfectly charred. The flavor combinations are amazing.
