Three tomatoes are walking down the street: a papa tomato, a mama tomato, and a baby tomato. The baby tomato starts lagging behind, so the papa tomato turns around and yells, "Ketchup!" Pomodoro, it means "tomato." I haven't been to Pomo in a hot minute but I'm always pickled to pop in. Most recently, the four of us stopped in after a baseball game to rehydrate and eat proper food. Because beer, Bar-S hot dogs, and peanuts can only do so much for a grown adult. We took a short walk over from Chase Field on a sunny Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. Let me tell you, the ice cold water that was immediately served after being in the 102°F heat was more than welcomed. I ordered The Burratella. The Burratella is one of the most popular pizzas at POMO Pizzeria, featuring a creamy, indulgent blend of fresh mozzarella, imported burrata, hot soppressata, chili threads, fresh basil, and a signature local organic honey drizzle--all served on a crispy, thin crust without tomato sauce for $21.95 and yes, it's as delicious as it sounds. And because it was the weekend, I had two different espresso martinis: Pistachio Espresso Martini and the Banana Espresso Martini. I really enjoyed the banana espresso martini in particular. To be noted, my friend's drink of the Pomo Lemondrop was insanely good. For those with dietary restrictions, this place is great. They are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly. This place rocks!!! Delicious food and the sweetest service. My sports team and I were visiting Arizona for a competition. After a long Sunday, at around 3PM, I wanted to look for a place that could accommodate a group of 30 people.. Difficult and stressful but Pomo made it easy. I called in and Emily picked up the phone with a warm welcome. She discussed the details of the dinner that was set for 5:30 and was able to work with her team to make it happen! She confirmed with me, evening calling me back to let us know they would be ready and double checked all the details. When we arrived the outdoor patio tables were set and ready to go for our large party. Ordering was smooth and food and drinks came out in a speedy manner. All the servers, especially Maddie, were so observant and very professional even with our younger children. The food was yummy as well!! My favorites were the buratatella pizza and tartufata pizza! Although this experience was at the end of May (just 3 weeks ago) I still think about it to this day. Thank you to the Pomo team, esp Emily and Maddie, for making the end of our trip so memorable!! What a great downtown pizza spot! It's on the small side so I would recommend reservations. The house made focaccia with whipped ricotta and honey is so good, especially the bread. Crispy on the outside, pillow soft inside. Yum! The mozza balls were fine but nothing special. Caesar was delicious, nicely dressed and just a hint of kale. The sautéed shrimp gratin was also good, but we're looking forward to trying the meatballs next time. The pizza - delicious Neapolitan style. If there's one food that I can eat multiple days in a row, it would be PIZZA! In fact, when I went on my honeymoon, it was to Europe where Italy was certainly a highlight. It's nice when there's a place locally to get a taste of such a special experience. That would be Pomo Pizzeria! While I probably go to the Scottsdale location more often, my first visit to a Pomo location and my most recent visit were both to this Downtown Phoenix location. First, it is so easy to make a reservation, which can be done on their website (https://pomopizzeria.com/downtown-phoenix) or on OpenTable. You won't need a reservation though for lunch (at least not during the summer) though it's not a bad idea to have one for dinner. I have been meaning to stop by for one of their happy hours (Monday through Friday from 3-6 PM) where they have special priced bites and libations. They also have a special lunch menu for those of us braving the heat during the workday, especially during the summer, though no pizza options on the lunch menu. I have also enjoyed engaging with Pomo on Instagram and other social media. They occasionally host anniversary special events with free snacks, drinks, and prizes. Also, once upon a time, they hosted a contest to hunt down their billboards. They gave away gift cards to three lucky winners who found all three billboards. I'm excited to have been one of them! #pomopizzeria #pomoparty #pizzaparty The service has always been good. Just today, from when I first walked in to when I placed an order, to checking in on me during the meal, I appreciated the staff checking on me while not being overbearing. The food is also very good! I ordered the Diavola today without hot soppressata but with salami instead. The other ingredients were the tomato sauce, basil, and mozzarella so having a nice meat made it taste like a fine pepperoni pizza. Very good, especially with sprinkled parmesan. While I certainly plan to stop by this Pomo location again soon, I'm looking forward to visiting their other locations again, too. read more

Parking: We are staying near by and walked a few blocks to get here. The walk was pretty easy, no super busy roads or crazy alley ways. The staff was all friendly and the bartender was great at explaining the choices I had for dinner. I went with one of their pies and it was ok. I definitely needed some more ingredients for my tasting. I found myself leaving a lot of crust due to minimal cheese added to it. I came by with two friends on a Sunday morning, expecting the place to be packed (it was prime brunching hours) but to our surprise we were the first patrons of the day. We had stopped by for coffee ahead of coming to Pomo, so we only ordered two pizzas to share and they were both perfectly crispy and hot. I recommend the Diavola. Our server was attentive, checking in with us every now and again to ask if we needed anything, and refilling our waters. She was also kind enough to bring us both their signature hot honey and oil to pair with the pizzas. If it's not too hot or too cold, I recommend sitting outside. Pomo is located on 1 St, which isn't super busy / there isn't too much car traffic which makes it great to get some fresh air and people watch. read more

We had regular 1 lemon drop, 3 pomo lemon drops, 1 pistachio expresso martini and, 1 the best espresso martini and alllllllll were delicious. We had a starter salad called panzanella. I never had grilled peaches in my salad before but it was very good pairings. We also got 2 different pizzas one was capricciosa and the burratella. We always try a new pizza when we go and these two were delicious!!! Of course some of my friends wanted ranch but honestly it didn't need it. They do give you fresh parmesan and crushed red peppers but they also have this chili out that great as well. I would not recommend the pasta tho for the price does not match the portion #youllleavehungry.
