Second time here, right down the street from the airport, if you are lookin for a Mexican restaurant in Ontario, this is the place to go Great food and atmosphere

We checked into the Best Western next door for the evening and didn't feel like driving any where. The front desk recommended this restaurant if we liked seafood which we do. We ordered the shrimp fajitas and they did not disappoint!! We were sharing the fajitas and there had to be over a dozen fairly large shrimp and plenty of veggies. They came with a side of beans and rice. Also, they brought chips and salsa and we loved both salsas and the chips were very good too!

    Comp chips and salsa!

I read all the good reviews about the Fajitas and decided to try them out. My oh my! They were delish. The vegetables mixed were full of flavor. I paired it with some corn tortillas that were nice, thick and moist. The employees are very nice and the place had a nice vibe. Low volume pleasant Mexican music was playing. Service was quick and the portion was big. I'm a big eater and the fajitas filled me up. The shrimp fajitas are $26.00 but well worth it and probably enough for two people to share. They provide complimentary chips and salsa too! The ice tea must be freshly brewed because it tasted really good. I will definitely return to this place.

The restaurant shares the parking lot with the motel. As soon as you enter the restaurant there's a tank with a few live lobsters. I feel so bad for them as they all have rubber bands around their claws. One of them was trying to take it off, but it was unsuccessful. There are two dinning areas, to the left you can enjoy karaoke on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays while you dine. There's also a bar attach to the left side. To the right, there are a lot of booths and countertops dinning. We ordered beef cocido, pork verde, guacamole, michelada, and jamaica. Overall, the food was just okay. Beef cocido didn't have the traditional broth flavor; instead all I tasted was the salt. It was very difficult to eat the vegetables (carrots, zucchini, and corn) as they are cut not into pieces but a long strip. Pork verde, the green salsa was more like from a can. When the waitress brought out the guacamole she also brought the salt shaker, which I thought was strange. When I tasted the guacamole it was bland. Then I know the reason for the salt shaker. Jamaica drink was from a powder mix. I thought it was cool that the michelada came with a shrimp. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive.

There is about 5 shrimp in their cocktail $24

The place was empty went on a Friday afternoon @4 they have a sign outside that says happy hour 1pm-5pm but the menu says it's until 4pm the waitress was nice enough to still give the happy hour price , we got 2 ultras on the happy hour menu.... We ordered 1/2 oysters to start .... They weren't detached so heads up as an entrée we ordered garlic shrimp with rice ( it's 4 pieces of shrimp) with hard white rice , and shrimp cocktail , I have never seen a clear cocktail It was very tasteless I added Tapatío & ketchup and still it tasted like cold shrimp in water . Won't be coming back again specially for the price of the food if it was good and tasty I'd say it's worth it but $25 for a tasteless clear cup of water with shrimp I don't think I'll be back , I'll just go back to Libra por Libra better service and food tastes like it's supposed to .... No where near the gouging prices in an empty restaurant I see why now

When I visit Ontario, this is always a stop that I must make for some good food and good cocktails. This is definitely a hidden gym that you must try on this occasion I chose to partake Kenzie fried whole red snapper a long with a watermelon Mojito red snapper was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The Mojito was perfect and tasty. In my opinion. The service is always great and the ambience is always cozy and inviting. Definitely a must try if you ever stop or live in Ontario.

The fish tacos were great - hot, crispy, and huge! The drive through location for some reason seems to have fish pieces half the size, always messes up modifications for toppings, and never gives chilis without having to specifically ask. We decided to give the location near vineyard a shot bases on much higher Yelp reviews and being done with Rubio's from too many bad experiences. You would think this is a totally different company based on the service and quality. They should just close down the other store and stop wasting everyone's time! Even though we are farther away from this location, the tacos traveled better taking it to go than they do when the drive through location is about a mile from my house. I don't know why it's been getting harder to find good fish tacos. Like I said Rubio's is dead to us, La Bufadora has gone so far downhill it's not worth the drive out to South Ontario, and the drive through Senor Bajas seemed like a last resort as the best of the worst. No longer! I'm so sorry we slept on this spot, but this is now our go-to for local fish tacos!

Mind you, they want $11.29 just for 2 mahi mahi tacos. Then, if you want a side of canned beans, some rice, and a super small drink, it's an extra $5.99. You're looking at $17 to $20 for two skimpy tacos, two mediocre canned sides, and a single, solitary delicious pepper that's salted and peppered. No thank you. We will not be returning.

AMBIANCE 5.5/10…read more After spending way too long trying to decide what to eat, we finally settled on seafood boil and landed on The Big Catch because of their all-you-can-eat option. Walking in, our first impression wasn't great the building looked a little run down. Once inside, though, the vibe improved. It had a rustic sports bar feel with TVs everywhere, an open bar, and a seafood station. Nothing fancy, but not terrible. EXPERIENCE 7/10 The service was one of the better parts of the visit. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and recommend a few items. The food took a little while to come out. BTW there's a 90 minute limit after we were seated and the second round of our seafood took 30 minutes to come out (they apparently forgot our order) and they proceeded to tell us we had last call right after our second round of food barely got to the table. Not sure if that's done on purpose but we really didn't really appreciate that. Overall though, the staff definitely made the experience better. THE FOOD 5/10 Here's where things started to fall apart. The first all-you-can-eat platter came with two snow crab clusters, 1/2lb crawfish, 1/2lb mussels, 1/2lb peeled shrimp, plus unlimited sides. One thing that caught us off guard and maybe we just missed it on the menu is that after your first round, you can no longer order the snow crab or peeled shrimp. That was disappointing since those ended up being the best seafood options on the table. The snow crab was solid, and the peeled shrimp were surprisingly good the texture was crunchy and we didn't get any fishy smell or flavors. Everything after that... not so much. Round two included whole shrimp, clams, and scallops. The portions were noticeably smaller, and almost everything tasted like it had been frozen for too long. The crawfish lacked freshness, the whole shrimp had the same issue and were mushy without the initial crunch additionally the shrimp was hard to peel which makes us think that it was POSSIBLY reheated, and the scallops were tiny with a strong fishy flavor that made them hard to enjoy. Even the House/Cajun seasoning didn't do much to save it. It was too oily and honestly just tasted like salt, there was no spiciness either and we got the hot flavor. Ironically, the sides ended up carrying the meal. The cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy, which balanced out some of the heavier seafood, and the sweet potato fries were honestly one of our favorite things we ordered. And one last thing... somehow even the water tasted off. What We'd Order Again Snow Crab Clusters Peeled Shrimp Fish Taco Sweet Potato Fries Cucumber Salad Sausage Corn Skip These Whole Shrimp Clams Mussels Scallops Crawfish House/Cajun Seasoning Cajun Fries Cajun Wings Boiled Egg Water Final Rating If you're going for the all-you-can-eat seafood, don't expect premium quality. The first round is decent, but once the crab and peeled shrimp are off the table, the meal drops off pretty quickly. Would we come back? Definitely not. We ended up paying 90$ for 2 people which you can argue is good since it's an AYCE seafood meal but afterwards after speaking to the waiter we found out the shrimp and crawfish was indeed frozen that along with all the other disappointing food doesn't make us feel like it was worth the money. Overall Gassington Rating: (5/10)

The prices were comparable to other similar places but this place also offers all you can eat (except holidays) but we did not do this as we did not have the appetite. Plenty of parking and close to Ontario Mills. Staff were very friendly. Restaurant could use a facelift in some areas like the restroom but overall relatively clean. We ordered 2lbs medium spice house seasoned whole shrimp with corn and an egg, cucumber salad, and Cajun fries. The cucumber salad has a soy/vinegar sauce. We ordered it mainly to cut the butter/salt from the other stuff, it was decent, there was a little bitterness from the cucumber. The shrimps were nice and plump, only 1-2 were overdone at the bottom of the bag. The flavor was tasty, though I would have liked chunks of garlic in the bag to enhance more flavor. The basil was different than most places we've frequented, a welcomed surprise. Although we ordered medium spice, I think it was more on the mild side. The Cajun fries had a nice bite to them, but were simply fries with seasoned salt/Cajun seasoning on top...I've had better but they went well with the shrimps. Corn was sweet and egg was fine.

Our usual order is 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of mussels, and we've always been happy with it. This time, we decided to try the Combo #2 because we wanted to add crab legs. We ordered three combo bags, each with shrimp, mussels, and crab legs. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like there was anywhere close to 1lb each of shrimp and mussels in the bags. I can't prove it, so I can only share our experience, but it honestly felt like there were fewer than 15 shrimp in the bag. For the first time ever, we finished our meal and were still hungry afterward. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend ordering the combo bag. Not only did it seem like there was significantly less food, but with all the ingredients piled together, some items ended up overcooked. We were really disappointed because we've had consistently good experiences with multiple locations here over the years. Hopefully this was just an off day, but we'll be sticking with ordering the seafood separately next time.

I don't remember which day of the week it was, but they were super busy. Almost every table was taken. I got lucky with one small table open just for me. Sometimes it's nice to dine solo because less space is required. Rebeca was my server. She was superb with her friendliness and service from beginning to end. She returned to my table to check on me regularly... very attentive. Thanks Rebeca! Menu had more than just Ceviche. Expect to also see House Tostadas, Botanas, Cocteles, Molcajetes, Baja Classics, Oysters, Caldos, Tacos, Appetizers, and Drinks. That's quite a variety! I wanted to try everything, but I only had room for a few items. Got the Baja Taco Combo with 2 tacos and salad (fries was the other option). I was able to get one taco with shrimp and one taco with fish. Shrimp was hands down better than fish. The sweetness of the shrimp shines through more. Cabbages were fresh and crisp. Taco dressing was tasty, but could have been less. Salad was refreshing. Love the homemade ranch dressing... very light and smooth! Also got one Camaron Cocido (ceviche with cooked shrimp) and one Revolucion (mix of crab, shrimp, octopus, and abalone). Portions of seafood was adequate. OMG, both were so delicious! I mixed the two together. They worked very well. YUM! I had to get one agua fresca to rinse everything down. I started out with Jamaica, but it was watered down so I asked to have it changed to Cucumber Lime. It was better, but its flavor was not prominent for my taste bud. Let's just say, I've had better agua frescas from other restaurants. All in all, I had a wonderful dining experience. I enjoyed the food very much. I highly recommend this place as a must-visit for anyone who loves seafood. As a seafood lover, I'll for sure be back for more deliciousness!

And I thought I'd try a taco since they looked good on the Yelp reviews. I ordered a fish taco. When I got my food, the taco was massive with tons of cabbage piled on, topped with a lot of crème and some salsa. But I liked it cos most places dont even put enough of it. When I bit into it, I was wondering why there were pieces and thought they cut up the fish (?) only to realize it was shrimp. The waitress must have misheard me when I ordered fish taco and gave me a shrimp taco. But I'm not complaining cos it was delicious. The shrimp was lighty battered, so you get the taste of the shrimp right away. You also get a slight crunch from the shrimp and it pairs well with the cabbage and sauce. This is a definite must order if you're craving tacos. Before I ate my taco, I made sure to put some lime on my ceviche to "cook" it a little bit with the acid because the shrimp is a little too "raw" for my liking. It also comes with tostada chips / shells. And I was also given a bottle of crema, hot sauce (?) and some sort of brown sauce (sorry I dont know what this is called but it's delicious!). Halfway thru my meal, I noticed the gentleman was served those Mexican pinwheel shaped chips. As I was paying, I asked the lady what he was eating. She said they're called chicharones de harina. I asked her if it's free or he ordered it. She said it's free and asked me if I wanted some to go. Service needs some improvement. Although the waitress did check on me from time to time, she never asked me for a water refill - and clearly my cup was empty. Also when I arrived, why was I not offered the chicharrones de harina and the gentleman in front of me got some right when he arrived. The ambiance was chill and quiet. There are 4 Tabs which I'm sure this place gets busy on game days. Definitely a place to check out for the ceviche.
