Even with terrible weather conditions in local flooding, this place was packed! Once we ate, we knew why. This BYOB Italian restaurant has the most exquisite food you could ever want. The chef/owner is from Italy and it shows. The food was a culinary adventure! I had the pasta with seafood which was loaded with mussels, clans and shrimp like I've never seen before. My husband had pasta carbonara which of course it's my wife lie right to try. The egg yolks made everything so creamy and rich! This was an outstanding experience. The prices were very fair and justified going just because! No special occasion needed. The service was outstanding and up to par of any fine dining restaurant I've been to. They don't take reservations so maybe a bit if wait if you come on weekends . But the food and BYOB with no corkage fee makes it worth the wait read more

Great food but lacks atmosphere and service could use improvement. Try dimming the lights, add candles to the tables, put on some music inside. It's incredibly loud in there - they mentioned they were working on that but I haven't noticed a difference the past few times I've been there. Staff and hostess isn't very friendly, takes forever to order or get our checks. The positive side is good food and BYOB with no corking fee but please improve on the atmosphere and service! read more

I looove Italian food, and this place was great example of why -Bread was perfectly toasted (Yano, crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside), served with olive oil and Parmesan cheese. -Calamari was a little disappointing- it was crispy (which is important) but had no seasoning. Could've had some salt and pepper. The tomato sauce served with it also needed some seasoning. Didn't stop me from eating it though -All of us loved our dishes!! My hubs got the risotto tre carne (special of the night), I got the spaghetti carbonara, my MIL got the Zucca di pesce (she loved loved it! And she's big on seafood as a Haitian woman) and my FIL got the Involtini Romana. -seriously, save room for dessert. I have never had good tiramisu outside of my mom's, so I was skeptical of all the good reviews. Because the other kinds are always dry and bland. But Vi Roma makes such GOOD tiramisu!!! sooo good! And the limoncello cake was arguably better..... such wonderful, light sweet flavor. I would go back for the desserts honestly -Service was good! Our waiter was really nice and helpful, but he was really quick to leave our table before we were done talking- but in his defense it was a busy night -Not a good place to come with a group of more than 4people. I am actually shocked at the number of 4 or 5 star reviews on here. Maybe we went on a really off night!? We showed up with a larger group. Knowing the space is small and no reservations we expected to wait either way. Checked in, got our name down and a few cups so we could open a bottle of wine while we waited out side. Lady said ok I should be able to seat you within the hour. 1 hour 45 minutes later we finally get sat. No problem we under stand. Larger group small space dinner rush..... makes sense. We sit at the table for 20 minutes. No waters, no bread, NO MENUS So finally my boyfriend stands up and goes and grabs menus from a basket for our table. Which now the 1 or only 2 servers inside taking tables all of a sudden realized we were there. It's a small space and we were the only group over 3 ppl there, let's not act like we blended in and you missed us. Finally get waters and bread on the table. We are starving so we all dive into the bread. Ask for another basket and told no. They ran out of bread...... ok well then let's get a move on we want to order. Server (who never even told us her name) finally comes over with real wine glasses for our table. 3 of which were dirty with lipstick on them. Didnt even bother saying anything cuz we were afraid she would disappear for another half hour. Get our orders in. Food comes out. Some items luke warm. Nothing I felt was good enough to give the rave review of best authentic Italian food. I've spent months in Italy and I've found better places with better food than this in the suburbs. Another couple with us has been before and said the risotto in pink sauce tasted like the changed it and it wasnt as good as before. So now we have already been there over 3 hours. No one has refilled our waters. Server has not checked on us after the food was served. We tried to enjoy the time we had together being able to catch up and chat. Then dessert/ coffee. Etc. The server said she didnt have regular coffee so she served my boyfriend an Americano. Well of course he didnt listen to me about what that actually is. Dessert was fine. Again nothing to write home about. Got our bill which was $250 for all of us. Crazy considering we brought our own wine, no water refills, no bread, horrible service etc. Paid the bill. Still tipped 20% Then we were rushed out the door. NOW you want something to go fast paced. No one thanked us. No one apologized for the wait or slow service. And then we are rushed out the door I get it, every place has their off nights but I honestly dont think there was anything about this place that would make me go hmmmm I'll give it another shot read more

This pretty little café is a cosy place to have a nice Italian meal. I'm not talking your typical red-sauce pasta; the standout lunch was Penne Al Tonno - penne with tuna, olives and capers. My pizza had a delicious cracker-thin crust with an absolutely luscious mozzarella, prosciutto and arugula. I was here for a business lunch and my companions said they love the specials here. I didn't care for the extremely chewy calamari, but all the rest of the food was delicious. The only blemish was our server, who interrupted our conversation to dash off the specials and then run away. We had questions but decided just to quickly order when he returned. He was impatient and didn't spend much time serving us. I understand he was dealing with a lunch rush, but he was noticeably unwelcoming. This place is so damn good! When I went to Italy, I ate the most delicious fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and prosciutto. This place came very close to the dish in Italy. BYOB! No corkage fee! Everything from appetizers to various pasta dishes were excellent. If you want authentic Italian food, this is the place! The restaurant is very small, but stays packed and busy on the weekends. I had been to the former location in the past and never had any issue. Was excited to see what the new location had to offer. Didn't seem much larger and the tables were very close together. Could barely hold a conversation with the person across from me. But could hear most of the conversation the person next to me was having. Granted it was a Saturday night, I was told the wait was 45-60 minutes...ok, I can handle that. Turned out to be over 2 hours! Had I known they from the get go, would not have waited! People who came in after us were seated before us. When asked, was told they were waiting in their cars. Really? If that's the case, maybe they need to take phone numbers and text when the tables are ready. Next time if it looks remotely crowded and told the wait is longer than 30 minutes, not waiting! read more

Via Roma is a personal favorite for Italian dining. Try to round up a group of six so you can hit the reservation minimum, because this spot is super popular and prime time can build a crowd! BYOB is always a treat, and the food here makes it even exponentially better. Everything we've had here is exceptional, a favorite of mine is Linguine alla Pirata (was at one time a special and off menu at this point, but they will still make) - linguine in marinara with mussels, clams, shrimp, and calimari. Starting to fall short of expectations unfortunately. This is no longer on our list of favorites to eat at. Last several visits and take-outs have been very mediocre at best. Lacking seasoning in any of the meats and when the pasta comes out, it seems to be overcooked and to have been sitting. We ate here for the first time last night (8/3/19). The food was absolutely outstanding. The BYOB is an excellent money saving plus. The only issue I have is the noise level inside the restaurant. The owners must immediately put up some sound insulation. There is no way I can return without eating outside to the great establishment. The sounds are just reverberating off of the walls and I left with an enormous headache. Definitely 5 Stars when they fix this issue. If they don't, it will be my last time eating there. read more

New to the area. Heard about this restaurant and after struggling to find authentic Italian cuisine close to home, I finally found one. I ordered take out food on a weeknight for my family and I. Never had been inside or what to expect I called and asked about the burrata appetizer that is Via Roma's famous staple special (hence why I couldn't find it on their online menu). The girl on the phone was super friends and took my order. We got lasagna & carbonara Along with the burrata. The red sauce on the lasagna was delicious and flavorful. The carbonara was ACTUALLY made with egg and not some bs alfredo sauce. I can't wait to try more things from the menu. The online menu says authentic Italian taste from Trastavere. I went to college in Italy and Trastavere is a neighborhood in Rome with delicious food and I will say Via Roma's food is up there!!! read more

My favourite Italian restaurant! I love that they are located in my suburb. I know I can always bring people here for delicious food. Who doesn't love a BYOB without a cork fee? Every time we walk in they are busy. I love it! Appetizers- there are so many that are delicious! Although I love the burrata, it is quite large so I tend to not order this unless we are a party of 6 or more. The grilled calamari is a staple! The sauce is unbelievable. You will definitely want to reserve your table bread for this sauce. I also love their mussel appetizer with the red sauce. There is a hint of spice and I never loved mussels until I tried this appetizer. Any of those options are a great way to start out the meal. My husband and I always order the same two things when we are there: I get the grilled salmon and my husband orders the porcini pasta spicy with Italian sausage. Although I know there are many wonderful offerings, those two are our favourite so we stick with them. The only time my husband will order something different is when they have wild boar. Please get some in soon! Don't forget the dessert! The Nutella dessert, cannoli, lemon cake, or gelato are all solid options! The service is incredible. They recognize us because we frequent often. We live across the road from via roma, so we usually order take out. This is one of the best italian places we have tried in the area. The food is priced reasonably and it tastes delicious. We usually order the pumpkin or spinach ravioli, risotto and a vegetarian pasta. We have also tried the bruschetta which is god too.
