    CURRY CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH
    Lubie A.

I was visiting DC, and had lunch with a friend. We went for three course pre-set butternut squash soup, panini with salad & tiramisu at $32. The soup was tasty but a bit sweet. IT came luke warm. My carry chicken panini & salad was filling and yummy. The turamisu was too sweet. We enjoyed it. The restaurant is nice, but the service was not as formal as i would like. The cappuchino was way too expensive, $9, and coffee $7.

I'm a huge lover of cherry blossoms, so when my SO and I saw this beautiful cherry blossom themed space in our hotel, I knew we had to try it. Hanami is a small offshoot of Hamilton hotel's in-house restaurant, Via Sophia. It's a very small space right next to the main restaurant that was previously used as a speakeasy, but now overflows with beautiful (albeit, fake) cherry blossom decor for a few months during the spring. Dining is scheduled on a reservation-only basis, but reservations look relatively easy to grab. They offer a 3- or 5- course tasting menu celebrating spring flavors and a decent drinks menu, if you don't want to choose the optional beverage pairing. For our three-course menu, we had: - Hotel Tango Cherry Poached Pear: The first course was a cherry-poached pear with goat cheese and shiso- loved the sweet and savory pairings here, especially since I'm a fan of goat cheese. The texture of the poached pear started to wear on me towards the end but it was a very enjoyable bite. - Venison Ossubucco: The second course was my unexpected favorite! The venison was super tender and just melted in my mouth. Paired with farrotto (farro grain cooked risotto-style), the textures were divine and the flavors were so savory. I would have loved to have more and more of this. - Cherry Stracciatella Semifreddo: Dessert was also surprisingly good! Our waiter described it to us as a deconstructed ice cream bar, which didn't sound all that appealing to me at first as a generally non-lover of ice cream, but ended up being delicious and flavorful. Our waiter was friendly and personable, but the time that stretched between courses stretched longer than expected. It's understandable, given that this dining area is separate from the main restaurant, so the only people that are around are just you and your fellow diners. My SO and I ended up being the last diners in the space, so our waiter let us hang around for a few minutes after dinner to enjoy the space and take pictures since it's so beautifully decorated. While not the cheapest, we felt that price was reasonable for the value and experience. I had an immensely good time and would recommend stopping by if you're ever in the area during cherry blossom season. Hanami will close for the year at the end of June, so make sure to stop by before then if you can. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 4/5 - Service: 4.5/5

While staying at the Hamilton hotel in Washington DC we had dinner one evening at the hotels restaurant called Via Sophia. The restaurant is on the hotel property right on the corner so you have the option to dine in or dine outside on their terrace overlooking Franklin Park. The restaurant is very classy and provides a full service restaurant, bread service, and bar. The staff and hostess were very friendly. When we went down for dinner, we were seated right away. The restaurant is very clean and has a cozy set up and inviting. The menu options looked delicious. We settled on something simple and ordered bucatini carbonara. The dish was nice and hot and was a good portion. The pasta was cooked al dente which is great however, this one was a little too al dente. The carbonara sauce wasn't as creamy as I've had at other restaurants, and it had so much black pepper that it overpowered the taste of the pancetta or bacon that was used in the dish. Nonetheless, we were hungry and finished it right away! Would I eat there again...? It depends. There are so many great places to enjoy food in the DC area, however, there were other options on the menu that I would be willing to return for. Until next time! Enjoy!

I had to check out Via Sophia's Hanami at the Hamilton Cherry Blossom Three-Course Menu! It's absolutely beautiful. The decor and ambiance really just sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. Service was very quick and we even got to meet Chef Silva, who told us all about the menu. $49pp +$25pp for beverage pairing: First Course HOTEL TANGO CHERRY POACHED PEAR Aged Balsamic, Citrus Oil, Goat Cheese, Shiso Cherry Royale Second Course VENISON OSSOBUCCO Polenta Mascarpone, Morello, Miso-Braised Fennel 2021 Coppa | Camp du Rouss Nebbiolo Barbera D'Asti / IT Third Course CHERRY STRACCIATELLA SEMIFREDDO Amaretto, Candied Orange Peel, Cocoa Nibs House-made Cherrycello Is definitely go back again!

Highly Recommend The eggs were flawless--creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Potatoes? Just as amazing. You can tell this kitchen avoids the usual overcooked trap most places fall into. Barry, greeter and host, was warm and welcoming, making everyone feel at home. Actually the staff who checked in on me and brought my food was equally engaging and friendly. Lighting and gentle music was a plus as well. It was quiet for a breakfast spot and I found it refreshing. The bartender was unfortunately curt and disengaged, but maybe just having a rough morning. Still, the food and hospitality overall make this a must-visit. I'll definitely be back.

    GRILLED SALMON CEASAR
    Shanel J.

I was staying at the Hamilton Hotel so it was very convenient. I went one night and tried to order a Caesar salad with chicken. Apparently they won't add chicken to the your salad but you can add salmon. I didn't have time to go anywhere else, so I just got salmon and it was good as well. The next day I stopped in late afternoon, early evening and was told they only serve pizza until before 5 pm. My friends and I definitely found that odd, but again didn't have time to go anywhere else some of us ordered pizza and drinks. The espresso martinis are delicious! I think I would only recommend this place and a pregame spot for drinks, not really for food, as they seem to be very picky in what they serve.

House White off the Happy Hour Menu!
    Fatu D.

First and foremost, kudos to the waiter Duc from the Philippines! His service to our party during the Happy Hour on Tuesday was superb. He overheard that my friend was transitioning from her current position and gave her a special treat. Such amazing service and attention to detail. The ambiance was nice featuring upscale decor and offering inside and outside patio seating. Though the Happy Hour menu was limiting, all the dishes hit the spot! The fries, calamari, and pizza were priced great and were delicious. The house red and white wines were awesome options as well. Just wishing the happy hours could be extended, but that goes for all places.

Good: without prompting, the hostess realized that a window seat was becoming available and asked if we'd like to move. Bad: waiter with no personality and soup spoons for stirring my coffee Noa: commendations

My husband and I are staying here at the Hamilton hotel for his 75th birthday. We are here from Arizona. I ordered the Verde Pollo pizza and it was phenomenal. I had them add mushrooms to it and that just took it over the top! Sit at the bar because the bartenders are awesome!

Mimosa brunch tree on the patio
    Todd B.

We came here for brunch and were absolutely blown away. I had the chicken sandwich with fries, and it was phenomenal--crispy, juicy fried chicken cooked to perfection and served on a sandwich that hit all the right notes. The fries? Golden, hot, and addictive. We also shared the mimosa tree (yes, a tree of mimosas), which I highly recommend. It came with an assortment of deliciously flavored mimosas--something for everyone's taste, and it made the table feel a little extra festive. The atmosphere was gorgeous--thoughtfully designed with elegant touches and a hint of cherry blossom vibes that made it feel seasonally special. It's located right inside the Hamilton Hotel, directly across the street from a beautiful park, which added to the whole experience. The four of us couldn't stop talking about the food, the drinks, and the whole vibe--even after we left. If you're visiting DC or live nearby, do yourself a favor and book a table here. Brunch goals, achieved.

From the moment we arrived, we felt like our celebration mattered to the people taking care of us. The food was incredible. We started with the Duck Hunt and Cesare salad, followed by the 40-Layer Lasagna, which absolutely deserves every bit of its reputation. Our cocktails, the Arancia Rossa Margarita and Negroni Fumo, were beautiful and delicious. We finished with the Gianduja S'Mores and Pesca Arrostita, and somehow each course just kept getting better. But as good as the food was, the people are what we'll remember most. Talya was incredible. She was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making us feel completely at ease from the moment we sat down until the very end of the night. She made wonderful recommendations, checked on us at all the right moments, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our night. And then there was Robin, the Guest Relations Manager. She made us feel less like guests at a restaurant and more like people being welcomed into someone's home. She checked on us throughout the evening, celebrated with us, and made sure our night felt special from beginning to end. At the end of dinner, we were surprised with two complimentary chocolate cakes, one for our anniversary and one for my wife's birthday, along with cards celebrating each occasion. Those personal touches meant so much to us and were the perfect ending to an already beautiful night. When you're celebrating the person you love most, you hope the place you choose somehow rises to the occasion. L'Ardente did that and more. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was beautiful, but the hospitality is what will bring us back. Thank you, Talya, Robin, and the entire L'Ardente team. You helped make a day that already means the world to us feel even more special. We won't forget it.

The Drunken love with pepperoni and vodka sauce was to die for. Their pizza is like a mix between NY style and Neapolitan. The crust is crispy and puffy. It took a lot of will power to not eat the whole thing. The pastas fell a little short for us. The alfredo was just ok- not the best flavor. And the pesto was really soupy and a huge portion. Definitely, more Italian American than traditional Italian. We wrapped up the dinner with a cannoli brownie. A fun take on the classic Italian dessert. Overall, a delicious meal! Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta.
