I returned the jar and asked that the hostess notify the own of this issue. The server was great, friendly, and professional. My experience, during a $45 tasting, one should have consumed the equivalent of at least 3/4 of a bottle (I could be wrong). During this tasting, we consumed the equivalent of a half glass of wine.

The lovely Popie provided us with exemplary service for our tasting! She walked us through the different varietals and clearly knew her stuff when it comes to wine and quality of the vintages. Her humor and conversation really made the time fly by. For tastings, I loved that you get to select your choice of 5 wines from their large selection. They have a big tv behind the bar area that you can request sports games on - we watched the World Cup game! The best part of our experience was engaging with the locals. The wonderful people we met - both working here and returning customers are clearly so connected as a community and were very welcoming to us out-of-towners. Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

Unlike most tasting rooms in Paso, including many of the downtown ones, they are open nice and late - 8pm most nights and 9pm on Friday and Saturday. They primarily serve reds (with a rosé available for tasting while we were in, and a white available by the bottle only) and specialize in Spanish varietals. I really liked the educational sheets they had about the Paso Robles AVA, and the map of the different districts. Wines weren't our absolute favorite, but we did end up getting a bottle of one of their garnacha's to bring home! Hope to come back and try their Albariño sometime and maybe do a glass/bottle over a tasting.
