Buttermilk chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries
    Kellie M.

Our server, Tom did an amazing job. Very attentive and offered great suggestions on the menu. Had the pot stickers that were very good and the buttermilk chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries were delicious, cooked perfectly and salted just right. The sandwich was good. I also really enjoyed the sangria!!!

I have a hollow feeling inside me, must be from the Hollow Bistro. But it's better than being Kevin Bacon (Hollow Man). I lived right next to this bar and restaurant for several years but did not visit until recently and it's really nice. It does good American fare with a little bit of ethnic and East Asian flavour and its own by the same awesome people from Simon's - the deli-convenience store right across the street. I'll definitely come here again when I'm in Clarence. Good mid-priced food and a lovely atmosphere - in fact one of the nicest little spots to eat in Clarence.

We had a dinner here during the local restaurant week, didn't expect that much however the experience was quite amazing. This place is fabulous and well decorated, that really impressed us. We were quickly seated and ordered based on the event menu: steak, haddock, and kids get their fries and chicken fingers. Food came quickly, and were delicious, for all of them!! Asian broiled haddock is especially good, very juicy and tender, paired well with the sauce and rice. Overall, We really enjoyed the meal and experience, will return for sure. Service is really good too, I think we were greeted by the owner, who is very welcoming and nice, boys like her.

Came here on New Year's Eve. I will start with that because I know how busy of a holiday it is. The food took over an hour to arrive and because of that, our first round of drinks was on the house. It seemed that the restaurant was not busy enough to account for that kind of a wait but again, it was a major holiday. With that being said, I was very disappointed with the food itself. We were given bread as we wait for our food but it was comical how small it was. With four people at a table, everyone got one small slice of bread and a tiny bit of their cranberry-vanilla (I believe) butter. It was so good but I wish I could have had a little more. It was a tease! I got the beet and black bean burger and was very disappointed. I have been to places with beet burgers that were out of this world but this one was flavorless and fell apart. The side of chips was very bland and way too hard. I would have preferred them thinner with some sort of seasoning. The server was fine but didn't really come to check on us much during the wait so it made the wait feel even longer. It was fine but for the price, I would choose somewhere else next time.

Mom enjoyed the pork tenderloin! Very tender.

Absolutely wonderful! Delicious food and great service by Elizabeth! Highly recommend the French onion soup and the mushroom ravioli Elizabeth gave great recommendations and quick service. My mom and I were visiting family in town and had a great experience. Thanks Elizabeth!

Lunch here yesterday was absolutely awesome. Such an interesting menu! The place is beautifully decorated, but we opted to sit outside on the patio to take advantage of every last bit of summer sun. Our server Amy was great. Offered to give separate checks - always a plus. During lunch there is a small selection of wines at $5 a glass. Double plus! My only criticism was having to ask the prices for the verbally recited specials. All our food was delicious. My seared salmon BLT wrap (minus the "B"), was mm-mm-good. The salmon was moist, and the sriracha aioli added just the right amount of heat. Companions thoroughly enjoyed their wonton soup, potstickers, sesame chicken and cubano. Potato addict that I am, I usually don't care for housemade potato chips, but these were tasty. Crisp, not oily, just the right amount of salt. Two of our party shared a blueberry cobbler and pronounced it "to die for". My Spanish coffee hit the spot. Lots of other menu options that I look forward to trying. Would return in a heartbeat.

Love the Asian look of the inside of this place. The high ceiling and clean lines make it look spacious. The mixed flavors of the fusion food is very good. I loved everything. There was plenty of parking but you should be aware that the lot continues behind the building next door

Great ambiance for a night out. Mostly Asian fusion based items but there's a good mix for everyone. Service is always top notch as well.

Hard working people working in this restaurant as we could see as we peaked in the kitchen on our way out the door. Small place with huge menu. Decisions, decisions on just what to order. Hubby chose the shrimp bento box. He enjoyed. I ended up with the Tom Kar soup and california rolls. I loved the soup. And it was the good kind of california rolls...not the fake crab stick...the salad style (see my pic). The decor is quirky and kind of a no frills type place. Nothing fancy or high end by any stretch. Quite a few tables occupied, and lots of takeout orders. Seems the word is out that they have delicious food. I do recommend if you want your sushi fix.

Well, of course my husband and I had to try it and what better place to get our food from than Teton. Because we needed a lot, and definitely had left overs, we went with the love boat for 2 all variety of fish for $69.00, as well as two tuna handrolls. I love their tuna handrolls. They are scrumptious. Teton is great for gluten free people and they modify to make sure everything is good to go. There was so much food. The sushi and the rolls were great and fresh. The ordering process online is extremely easy, even when you are ordering with a dietary restriction. If you want quality fish, go here. Taka, the owner, is great. Do something different, order some takeout and play homemade battleship with your spouse or a friend.

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.

I love when my food is hot on arrival. I ordered one order of the Pad Thai with chicken, two orders of salt and pepper shrimp and one order of Hakka fried rice. Ordered the fried rice because the menu didn't indicate the shrimp would come with rice but it actually came with a side of white rice. Also ordered one ginger ale. The order was roughly $75 CAD/ $55 USD. The salt and pepper shrimp came with sautéed onions , peppers and carrots. I loved how the veggies still had a nice crunch to them. I don't even like spicy food like that but I couldn't stop eating it. The Pad Thai was the perfect ratio of chicken, noodles, bean sprouts etc. I really hope the locals are patronizing this business because they are good at what they do. I definitely recommend.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone.
