The shaved Brussels sprout salad was recommended from previous reviews, so I decided to try it. I failed to read today's menu closely. My bad. My fault. It's composed of pickled onions, cranberries, goat cheese, poppyseed dressing and smoked peanuts. And I'm not a fan of peanuts! I read previous reviews on yelp where this same salad was highly recommended but came with almonds. So at some point, peanuts were added and almonds were removed. Honestly, the salad was very tasty. But I do think almonds, pecans, or walnuts would be more compatible with this salad. But if you're a peanut lover, you're OK! I would return in the summer months when they have outdoor seating. I got the BBQ for 2. This could of fed three people. All were great. The ribs and brisket were delicious, pork had a nice sauce and the fried chicken was one of the best I had in a long time. They are like chicken tendies but way better. Beans were smokey and always good here. Salmon special with avocado crema was tasty. Shrimp vodka was also good. The lobster deviled eggs are worth trying if you see on menu. Burrata was good but needed a few more crostinis. Giant PB cup for desert was so chocolately, so PBery and had a cookie crust. I have been here a couple times now and this place does not disappoint. A good size parking lot makes parking easy. The front door leads into a comfortable bar room with a large bar and an area with high tops and additional seating. I enjoy this space much more than their previous location which was rather industrial and not as warm feeling. We were early and had a few drinks. My blueberry beer tasted fresh and I enjoyed the blueberries in it. The bartender was pleasant and offered some different selections which my SIL really liked. The martini with the toasted coconut stood out. We were seated in the larger of the two back rooms. I split a cabbage roll app which had an Asian spin of pork and cabbage in a sweet sauce. My Jagerschnitzel was nicely fried over spatzle with red cabbage. The sauce and fried onions compliments perfectly. Everything was delicious with the French onion burger, the African pea soup and even the standard fish fry looked good. First time at this new location since they came from Transit and Main. Now nestled in Clarence Hollow on route five, we were not disappointed with the quality of the food. They have specials almost every day that are worth checking out. The Osso Buco was tender and served on a creative bed of baby lima beans. They have a lot to offer beyond just barbecue. Everyone was satisfied with their meals, and with the service. They have some very interesting beers here, and although they had no hard cider, I was very satisfied with one of their custom creations which had a citrus mango flavor. I had wanted to come here for quite some time after hearing so many rave reviews of the food. So when our monthly lunch bunch of six women opted for This Little Pig, I was pretty excited. And the food was exceptional! One of our best lunches ever. Which makes me sad. Because we won't be going back. My Crispy Brussels Sprouts were absolutely delicious. Fried sprouts and pecans on a bed of whipped feta, topped with balsamic glaze and chili crunch. So, so good! Raves also for companions' prime rib French dip, turkey & bacon sandwich, smoked wings and sausage sandwich. So if the food was really that good, why won't we be returning? The service. Horrible. Worst ever. Bartender Mike H. waited on us and was rude, condescending and all-around snarky. When asked a question about the roll the sausage sandwich came on, he answered in an unbelievably sarcastic tone. In fact, every inquiry made about a menu item was met with either a roundabout non-answer or that same sarcasm. Completely unacceptable. Very busy on a Wednesday evening, parking lot was full, we ended up in the public lot across the street. Waited a while here and there, but the food is totally worth it. Hostess suggested we grab a cocktail from the bar while we wait. Bar area was packed. There was no space at the bar without reaching over someone eating dinner, we also noticed an empty couch in the bar area, but a high-top with guests were seated right in front of it, with only about a foot of space to squeeze in behind the person on the couch-side, so we opted to skip drinks and just stood in the hallway between the bar and dining room. We didn't see anywhere to wait that looked like we wouldn't be in the way. Anyway. We really only waited about 20 minutes for a table, which truly is not bad. Once we were seated, we waited a while to place our drink and appetizer (lobster deviled eggs) order. The chef came out and apologized that there was a "mishap with the lobster," and offered shrimp or an extra deviled egg instead. (We speculate that it was a live lobster and it escaped.) We went with the shrimp and it was delicious. Chef came back about 20 minutes later to ask if we'd ordered entrees, we already had, but it became clear there was secondary mishap as we watched him and the server dash past us into the kitchen, and then another apology with our meals after another 15-20 minutes passed. Stuff happens, we get it, let's eat. I loved the fries. My shawarma wrap was delicious and huge, the 2nd half made for great work lunch on Thursday. Hubs got a full rack and said the ribs were great. We ordered a side of collards to share, and they were delicious too. Also, "full rack Wednesdays" are a thing, and maybe why it was so crazy in there that evening. Overall the staff we interacted with were each very friendly, super apologetic- which makes me believe that the mishaps are not the norm, and the food was really good. My wife and I got to taste the best of this place with my cousin and her husband. He suggested the barbecue sampler for two, along with chicken wings, lobster deviled eggs, but we started with their poutine . So many places try to door too much and then fail. But not this little piggy. The gravy which you know makes poutine was scratch, I could taste the depth of the stock it was made from. If that wasn't a all day stock they fooled me! The wings were a dry rub but still tender and juicy. The barbecue sampler had ribs, brisket, loose meat pork and just for giggles fried chicken. To put this in context, I'm the guy who dragged his family on the North Carolina barbecue trail from west to east hitting 7 of the places in one day ! I also do some smoking of meat at home myself with an old school barrel smoker. The brisket was spot on the loose pork was juicy with a respectable smoke ring and tender. The ribs pulled away clean ( I normally like more toothsome but most people prefer the easy bite) the fried chicken was a nice respite from the other elements nice Nashville fry on it. The lobster deviled eggs were NOT as pretentious as I expected the richness could be broken up with a chimichuri on the plate. It's not fair to judge the service because they are friends of my cousins so it was just family and love. Our server was very nice and attentive. The place has a cool vibe to it with plenty of dining seating that commingles also into the bar area. I can see this as a good place to come for a happy hour as they have interesting appetizers and specials. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was flavored with their "awesome sauce" and was really delicious! I chose a side of fries which was a cross between chips and fries and were nicely seasoned. My husband got the barbecue board which had perfectly sized amounts of brisket, sausage, ribs, and chicken. He got a side of Mac n' cheese with coleslaw. This place is really cute, it's decorated very chic for a bbq place. Service was nice and fast, I went with 2 other adults and 2 kids. The server let us know they usually don't split the bill if it's over 4 people, but she did for us since it was slow and our first time there. My sister got the lobster deviled eggs it comes with 3 eggs for $16 (5.33/egg), and she got the blue ribbon platter ($20) which she said was very good. My husband got a burger with an egg and bacon on it ($20) he said it was lacking flavor. I ordered the Smokey Mountain Deluxe ($18) the pulled pork was very good and so were their fries. A group of eleven of us went for a Saturday morning brunch. We arrived slightly before the 11am opening time and entered the restaurant from the private parking lot in the rear of the property. The parking required some creativity because we were among the first to arrive and the lot lacked stripping indicating how to park the cars, luckily several staff members were congregated behind the restaurant. They directed how we should park after we parked in an unsatisfactory manner. The rear entrance was wheelchair accessible and led through a vestibule to a rear dining room. A large table had been set for the group as a reservation was made in advance. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated by our server. She proceeded to take drink orders including endless mimosas, an extensive draft beer offering and Bloody Mary's. The drinks were served promptly and all seemed very pleased with their selection. The room was creatively decorated with a smokehouse theme. Food orders were taken promptly including several biscuit and muffin baskets for the table. The biscuits and accompanied butter and jelly were delicious. We were offered the option of using the special Saturday brunch menu or the standard lunch menu. I chose to order from the brunch menu with a brisket eggs Benedict. The food arrived promptly and was well received. My order was interesting as the brisket dominated the hollandaise sauce. The restaurant has a policy of a single check for large parties and accesses a twenty five percent gratuity. Unfortunately the gratuity was not mentioned when the reservation was made , nor was it stated on the menu. One member of the group took offense and an incident which the server handled as best as she could. Had to leave another review, because now they have moved locations. The new place is awesome and huge! They have indoor seating, bar seating and outdoor seating. We had our children with us, and even though the kid's menu isn't on the regular menu, they do have one! The size of their meals was mind blowing, great portions all around. Everything was delicious, highly recommend the seasonal risotto, and my husband really enjoyed his French dip. Cocktails were also amazing. While I get brisket is very fatty Junction had offered me lean cut or fatty cut plus had more sauce choices. All other items were good. They were from Two Chicks. We had a couple appetizers to start, which were fried pickles, and lobster deviled eggs. Both were delicious. My boyfriend and I are big on lobster, and this couple we went with, the husband is, but didn't particularly care for it. But we enjoyed the flavor. My boyfriend had the burger, which he very much liked. My friend had the meat mac and cheese. She wished there was less meat and more mac and cheese. I had the meat platter, which came with brisket, ribs, fried chicken and my sides were smashed potatoes and cole slaw. I loved the cole slaw, fried chicken, which was topped with a pickle, and the potatoes. The ribs were good, but the brisket I expected more from and was kind of sad about it. We are in town for 3 weeks and came here for lunch last week. We all really liked the sandwiches and food ordered. Tonight, we brought 3 other ppl for dinner. Only one of us liked our meal. First time and what a gem! The menu is a bit huge and honestly overwhelming simply because everything looks so damn good. I can see how this would be a restaurant you'd want to come back to over and over to try more of the menu. I started with the smoked chicken wings, which were perfectly cooked. 100% crispy with delicious chicken juice trapped inside. It was honestly like a soup dumpling, in that contained in those nuggets of crispy skin was flavorful and juicy chicken. SO GOOD. I followed that with a special they had which was the steak & mushroom pasta. A flavorful rich meat sauce with the pasta made this dish hearty and delightful with the noodles being cooked al dante. This Little Pig got a visit from yours Truly for the 3rd time, I felt like the Big Bad Wolf who was gonna blow the Little Pig's house in. Its just one of those places that wants you to come back for even more once you've eaten what they've had to offer. Aside from coming with my Grandma Carol and Uncle Rick, we also met up with Carol's friends Ed & Mary. What's not to love about this Little Pig, that the Food is Extraordinary, that its not Fancy or over the Top. That its Food that could be anybody's Cup of Tea. Comforting Dishes with New American Twist that pack Bold Flavors. Looking at the Menu once we sat down we got a glimpse at their Fall Options. Me and my Grandma started off with a couple of Cocktails, with my Grandma getting a Cinnamon Whiskey Sour with Muddled Orange and Cranberry Juice. While I got the apple Champagne packed with a lip smacking Apple Pucker and Spiced Rum. For our Appetizers, Rick went with one of the Classics: French Onion Soup. Packed with Caramelized Onions that were cooked in Bourbon Whiskey and a Rich Beef Stock. With a Homemade Biscuit Crouton floating on top and covered with melted Provolone Cheese. He said that every spoonful was packed with Sweet and Salty Goodness. I got their own Signature Meatballs that Jeffrey Cooke and TLP won at Meatball Street Brawl with. It was an Asian take on the Meatball called Kung Fu Tumbleweed. A blend of Beef, Bacon for the Fat Content, Jalapeno to kick it up a Notch and Spices that have been Hardwood Smoked and glazed with their own General Tsao Barbecue Sauce. While I thought that they were melt in your Mouth Tender, the rest of my party gave them mixed reviews like too much going on (Everyone's a Critic). Next up was something that I never thought that I would enjoy. Fried Green Tomatoes that have been crusted with Cornmeal accompanied with Goat Cheese and a Housemade Pepper Jam. Crispy exterior all the way through and the Tomato itself had the right consistency, not too soft or Slimy, with elements of Tangy, Sweet and Heat in the Background to give it more Flavor. It was Entree time: Mary had one of their Specials, Ragu of Pork Sausage with Campanelle Pasta with Sage, Mushrooms and Spinach in a Rich Veal Demi-Glace. Mary loved every bit of it, Tender, flavorful bits of sausage with Al Dente Pasta, the sauce had deep Flavor that coated every bit of the Dish perfectly. Ed & Grandma had the Smoked Prime Rib French Dip on house baked Baguette with some Beef Jus on the Side. They said that while the Meat was nice and tender, they thought that it could've used more Flavor. Rick got the Filet Mignon with a Bourbon-Peppercorn, Smashed Potatoes and Roasted Vegetables. Now this this is one of those Dishes that fits the Ambiance of this place. That Casual home cooking like feel to it, Tender Beef, Creamy Potatoes with some Consistency to it and seasonal Vegetables that develop flavor in the Oven. While we are on the Subject of Ambience, This Little Pig also has the Influences of Barbecue, especially with that smoker that I've seen out Back. I would be a fool not to get their Barbecue Board, or as I called it the Perfection. To have Quadruple Meats presented to me in one Setting: Smoked Ribs that were falling off the Bone, glazed with a Blueberry-Jalapeno sauce that provided notes of Sweet & Spicy. Sausage that's been butterflied and topped with some Mild Hot Sauce, Fat Juices were popping with each Bite and the Flavor was Smoky and got some Good Char from the Grill Marks. Brisket that fell apart with ease with a small amount of residual Fat that gave flavor apart from the Bark. It was generously topped with the right amount of BBQ Sauce so it wouldn't overwhelm the Meat. Lastly I enjoyed the only Fried component of the Dish, Fried Chicken Thigh topped with Housemade Pickles, Crispy outside, Juicy and fully cooked inside. I also got sides of Coleslaw and Pimento Mac & Cheese in Mason Jars as Sides. The only thing that missed the Mark was the Term "Board" as it was served to me on a Metal Tray instead of a Wooden Board. For Dessert (which I'm surprised that we still had room for) was one that caught my eye when I saw it posted on Facebook the week prior to my Visit. Something that captures the Essence of Fall, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Tart. This was a great upscale Version of Pumpkin Pie, Graham Cracker Crust, with both Cinnamon and Nutmeg flavor in each Bite and Caramel drizzled all over. I told the Server's to tell Jeffrey that this should be their Permanent Fall Dessert, serve it for 3 Months out of the Year. I really wished that Jeffrey was there but unfortunately, he was out Town, but he gave best wishes and hoped that we'd Enjoy. I took too long to try This Little Pig, which had been on my to-try list for some time. Only open for dinner four days per week, their hours and mine just took some time to line up. I finally made a reservation a few weeks ago just for myself, a solo-celebratory dinner to treat myself for landing a new job. The hostess greeted me as if she were genuinely delighted to see me. A table had already been set and was waiting for me. I had my order in mind already but took some time to look over the menu which was full of tempting options. Ultimately, I did go with my original plan and ordered the Shaved Brussel Sprouts salad and the smoked wings with a sweet chili & garlic sauce. The wings were smoked, deep-fried, then lightly coated in the sauce which was sweet with a touch of heat. They came with a cup of blue cheese. But this was no ordinary blue cheese as it too was smoked and also seasoned with fresh dill. Everything here seems really creative like this, like the chef takes a regular menu item, gives it a unique twist, and really makes it their own. Just mentioning the Shaved Brussel Sprouts salad has me salivating. This was really something special; the crunch of the fresh brussels and peanuts, the tang of the pickled onions and goat cheese, the sweet pop of blueberries, all satisfyingly dressed in a creamy poppy seed dressing. If I lived nearby I would order this salad to go regularly. I texted my boyfriend about my experience and suggested we come back together that upcoming weekend. The reservation was made. We had the same server who had taken care of my on my first visit just a few days prior and both on visits, the service was great. It was much busier on the weekend so it was a very good thing that we had made a reservation. We started with the Piggy Pipe Bombs which were good but a little spicy for my taste. For our meals, I ordered the Trifecta BBQ Board and he had the Smoked Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo. This is one of his favorite dishes but is too much cream for me. I had a taste though and it was heavenly good! The really intriguing thing about my board was the fried chicken. I had read rave reviews so I was really curious to try it. Fried chicken is something I rarely order. But this was outstanding and ended up being my favorite thing on the plate. My next favorite item was the Blueberry bacon bones. The brisket was very tender but less flavorful than the other components. I enjoyed eating that with my side of barbequed beans which were excellent. For my other side I chose the fresh veggies. We were too full for dessert and already taking leftovers home, but we had to give the Somoa Cheesecake a try. It was light and airy, almost like a cheesecake mousse, and definitely memorant of the iconic cookie. We shared a serving and that was the perfect sweet bite to end our fantastic meal. Glad they moved closer and we enjoyed the smash burger. Fries are good, fresh and delicious. They have made what once an eclectic corner bar in the Hollow a little classier. Yet the prices are heading towards the fine dining realm for BBQ? The meats are sourced locally. We came in during the happy hour ordered drinks. When the check came I had to remind the bartender we ordered the drinks during happy hour. They went from 2 drinks for $12 to 2 for $26 after it ended. I would never pay $13 for a glass of Sangria. We hear that they are opening/opened a take out location in Alden. We will definitely check that out. read more

This is one of our favorite upscale, casual restaurants in our vicinity. Our most recent visit was on Valentine's weekend. My wife had the VD Special which included Caesar Salad, Lobster and Mushroom Ravioli in Ragu, and Red Velvet Cake. She really liked the Caesar Salad and Red Velvet Cake. She was underwhelmed by the Mushroom Ravioli. I had a taste, but it's not a dish I would order anyway, so I didn't really have an opinion. The Nashville Hot Combo was my choice and it hit the spot. It's a lot of food. The fried boneless thigh + fried pork chop w/Nashville hot sauce and pickles over Mac and Cheese and greens was like an awesome southern fried garbage plate. The reservation process through Resy was terrific and the staff is was very helpful and friendly. Portion size remains generous. Still at the top of our local favorites. read more

We have dined here many times and we really like it. I think the thing we love the most is that it is very much a "chef's restaurant". The quality of food is fantastic and the combinations are well thought out. We love the burnt ends and the combination bbq platter. My only dislike was the price of the lobster deviled eggs. You get (3) 1/2 eggs for $15. We just wouldn't order it again and it hasn't dropped us from returning. It's a smaller place so make reservations. read more

I don't know if service gets any better when you consider the very reasonable prices of the entrees. I had a member of the staff at my table many times without my dinner experience to check in things, refill the water glass, etc. I would expect this at an upscale restaurant for sure, but it's a pleasant surprise to get this level of service at a barbecue restaurant. Speaking of barbecue, the brisket was outstanding. Not only was there plenty of service, but it was very fast. Drinks, apps and entrees were served up quickly because who wants to hang out in a restaurant any longer then they need to these days with COVID19 still on the loose. Definitely need to get here more often! read more

While the food is certainly good, I'm incredibly disappointed in the ownership. My wife and I patronized them frequently early on and A LOT during covid when they needed it most. We used to visit every so often and raved about them to family and friends... buying many gift cards as extra encouragement to try them. Now I will not be recommending them at all. Why the change of heart? The restaurant recently had a Facebook post in which they had a zoomed in picture of a menu with two items shown in which two mistakes were present. I commented saying that it looked delicious, but needed some minor corrections. I got a snarky response in return and then was blocked by the restaurant entirely today. This sort of childish behavior is not a good look for the restaurant. And while mistakes on a menu are one thing, the multiple in one tiny snippet combined with attempting to cover it up by blocking me makes me wonder what other issues are going on that I'm not seeing. It's sad they treat a loyal patron this way. Unblocking me and issuing an apology to their snarky comment would go a long way to repair the damage. I am forgiving and know that people make mistakes and sometimes say things in the moment they regret. But I will not return and will steer others away from them for now. read more
