I had such a great experience with Stephanie! I had virgin hair (black) so I've never had color done before and I was pretty nervous going into it. I wanted a change and something new with my hair, but I also work a job where I'm meeting with execs and need to look professional. I didn't want to go the classic route of browns/blondes in my hair, so I scheduled a consultation with Stephanie. She was super comprehensive in everything she talked about. She made me feel comfortable, no dumb questions, and ultimately I was really excited on my decision to go with BLUE layers and feeling confident that she would achieve the look I wanted while still keeping it professional. The day of the appointment, Stephanie again made me feel so welcome from the moment I walked through the door. The entire appointment was 6 hours but it didn't feel long and we had a great time throughout. I really feel like she went the extra effort to make sure I had a positive experience both in the salon and after. She scrubbed my hair like crazy in the wash and her hands turned blue (so mine wouldn't when I eventually shower). I walked out and even though I had my hair chemically treated, it feels smooth and healthy and has continued to many days after the treatment. HOW DID I NOT KNOW VIBE HAS A YELP? I'm so glad I stumbled here so I can write this awesome review for the salon. The ladies who run this place are AMAZING, FRIENDLY, and HARDWORKING. They really put so much time and energy into making this studio feel inviting, and also fitting to their theme. I love all the attention to detail in their decor. They had photos that represent their culture, and I think it's so unique to see them showcase their culture in the studio. They also keep the place extremely clean. The VIBEs are just immaculate! I've been Steph (@avibecalledsteph)'s client for the past 3-4 years, and every experience with her has been great. Steph works with you to ensure that she understands your hair goals, and she'll be realistic with you on what she can do based on your hair history. In your first few sessions with her, she'll guide you through what she's doing and why. All my hair transformations have been magical, and I always get complimented on my hair after I step out of the salon. Steph makes 4-5 hours go by very fast! She'll make you feel comfortable; she'll talk to you as much as you want to talk, or if you don't personally like talking, she'll understand that too. In terms of maintenance, she'll tell you when you should come back based on how your hair grows, how it lifts, and how you take care of it. I love that she customizes that timeframe based on the client because, in my past experiences, hair colorists would just tell me to come back in after a month with little regard to how my hair grows and lifts. The other ladies (Monica and Ty) are extremely friendly. I personally only got my hair done by Monica once since Steph was absent for her maternity leave, but she is just as wonderful as Steph. I've been a client of Stephanie's (@avibecalledsteph) for a while now. I am so proud and happy for her to finally have her own space!! She is really the best thing to ever happen to my hair. She really knows how to get the exact color/style I like without ruining my hair!! The salon itself was easy to locate! Tip: parking is right outside of AMC theater and her salon suite is down the main hallway. The salon screams Steph's aesthetic decorated with greenery and crystals! Although the space is smaller than her last place, it is very clean and welcoming, it makes you feel right at home. Booking is also made easy through the Booksy app which has her live schedule! Both Stephanie and her business partner, Monica, are the best!!! They are honest about the expectations of the outcome of your hair without compromising its integrity! They are so down to earth and make time pass by fast with great conversation. Although I am faithful to Steph, I do recommend booking services with either her or Monica. They are the true definition of a team and I am so happy to witness their growth together! Tip: 1. Cash or Money transfer service (I.e., Venmo/Cashapp) is preferred as they do not have a credit card terminal. 2. Stephanie and Monica were great! This is my first time getting my hair colored in over a decade and it was a great experience. She made me feel really comfortable and was very attentive and patient.
