I recently moved from SF to Hayward and wanted to try a new salon. After reading the reviews, I decided to give this place a try, and I'm so glad I did! Lynn did a great job. She definitely knows what she's doing and was super quick. My layered haircut only took about 15 minutes. I showed her few pictures of the style I wanted, and because I have frizzy, wavy hair, it's hard to really see the layers without a blowout. I asked if she could do a blowout after the cut, and she did. It looked great and was exactly what I wanted! During the haircut, I was so nervous and probably told her "not too short!" like 20 times, haha. She was very patient, listened to what I wanted, and made sure I was comfortable. I scheduled the night before and was assigned an appointment the next morning. There is parking lot in the back but I decided to park on the street. The space was very cute and cozy. I was serviced right away and was in and out in 15 minutes. I got a waterfall haircut and my hair was long to waist. I got a 2 inch fresh cut with bangs to my nose, long overdue hair cut indeed. I walked in and came here bc of the great reviews wanting just a trim from my hair, it was very quick done in 15min. I paid 35$ left satisfied with the cut but I didn't even get an inch off. This Salon is great for both men and women hair cuts. Kai and Lin never fail to greet you on your way in and way out. I have been coming to this Salon for almost 2 years and I have never been disappointed. I have curly hair and get a taper so my hair can be tricky but Kai gets my haircut right every time. I have even tried burst fades and other styles and he has made perfect adjustments. Kai and Lin are both so kind and genuinely care to make sure that you like your hair cut. They always keep their shop clean and organized and they off washes just in case you have plans right after your haircut. Another great thing about this shop is that their prices are very affordable. Starting at $20 for men and $30 for women they are by far the cheapest for the best quality hair cuts in this area. I highly recommend trying out this Salon for your next hair cut. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've been a customer since 2016 and have always been happy with Ky and Lin's service. My hair grows back rather quickly and compared to other barber shops in the area, splendid offers great service at an affordable price. They have easy parking in the back, plenty of room to sit and wait comfortably. Clean restroom if needed. Ky is a great barber that always helps me keep my head, face/beard looking good. Overpriced. I went in for a haircut for shoulder length hair and root touch up for $160. Cut was shorter than I wanted - it looked ok when blow dried and styled at the salon, but when I washed at home and let it dry with a little product, it doesn't lay well. The back of my sweater was wet from the hair wash to wash out the dye, the cape/cover slipped off but Lynn kept trimming directly onto my sweater so I left with a damp sweater and hair all over and inside my sweater. read more

Awesome spot to go for a quick haircut! My hair was getting longer than I like. I live across the street so this place is super convenient for me. I called them to make an appointment, but they said it's empty and to just walk in and I'll get a haircut right away. I was greeted by Ki, a friendly gentleman who seated me right away and got straight to work. He definitely took his time, and conversation was great after a long day of work, he gave me recommendations on some local Vietnamese restaurants to try out :) I will definitely be back next week for another cut! read more

First time getting a haircut here with Lynn and she did not disappoint! During the pandemic, my hair has grown so much and I've just been putting off going to the salon. I went on Yelp and saw this place and checked it out. I was nervous because I know some hair stylists get scissor happy and cut way too much off. I communicated with Lynn exactly what I wanted and she gave me exactly that! My hair is still long, just 2 inches off, and looks so much healthier. She is very sweet and listens to you and she even shared her story. This place is ran by her and her husband. The salon itself is spacious and clean with plenty of parking in the back. The only reason why I am leaving 2 stars is because the lady was very nice, but unfortunately she does NOT work on wavy/curly hair. It would have been nice to know before getting a hair cut that she ONLY specializes in straight hair. I also asked for short layers but she instead, cut it straight across. The haircut looked very uneven and rushed. Now I have to get my hair cut again because the volume and layers are completely gone! read more

I love Splendid! Lynn is fabulous and seems to almost know instinctually what the best style and cut is, and she's efficient but warm and kind while working. I'm easily overwhelmed in big salons - Splendid is the perfect atmosphere for me. Getting my hair cut here feels like getting help from a more stylish and capable friend. And the prices are super reasonable for the quality. I'm sad I moved. I was a regular here when I lived in Hayward from 2018 - 2022. Kai and his wife, Lynn, are exceptional. They listen, care, and are very friendly. They charge very fair prices as well. Kai is definitely better than Lynn but if you're a regular, Lynn can cut almost as well as Kai. read more

This is probably the one or worse salon I've been. All these Yelp reviews are overrated. First, when I called to get inquire about an appointment for my 2 little girls' hair cut, the guy said it'll be only $18. When I showed up, he changed the price and said it's more expensive because it's girls' hair cut and they have to spent more time. I didn't mind as long as they do a good job. The lady that cut both my girls' hair took only 15 mins for each hair cut! It was horrible too! One of my girl wanted layer and the other wanted an A line cut. Obvious that lady do not know what it is! She did barely layer and cut it very sloppy! Did not even clean up, blow dried or style it after each cut. At the end, she charged me $45 total!!
