Lexus of Melbourne - 2023 Lexus ES 350

As easy as online shopping!!! Originally spoke to Lamont who…read moreexplained the process and went over some dealership details. We were handed off to Keith, our sales guy. He was easy to deal with and went out of his way to make sure we knew what was happening and to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied with the sale. Next came Michael, the finance guy. This is usually the brutal part of car buying...pressure to add extras, terms that are threatening, and other issues that leave you intimidated. Not so with Michael and Lexus of Melbourne. The process was fast, pleasant, and easy...no queasy feelings as paperwork explained and signed. I have been returning frequently to take advantage of their complimentary car washes, and this week, returned to have Chris, another sales guy, sit with me in the car, to once again explain the technology (that had already been explained by Keith in great detail). This dealership and staff is top notch!!!

This Lexus RX350 is a used car that I purchased in 2010 from JM Lexus dealership in Fort…read moreLauderdale. It was manufactured in 2008. I really liked this car at the time, so I researched online for nearly two months and took notes for comparison. Ultimately, Lexus dealer offered the best value for money, so I bought this car. Later, I noticed that there was some paint chipping on one side mirror. Since it was within the warranty period, I had it repaired at a Lexus dealer in Melbourne, and this was entirely free of charge. During this time, they also provided me with a replacement vehicle. Later on, there were cracks in the car's interior, and I went to the Melbourne Lexus dealer. They told me the cost would be very high and suggested I go to a smaller auto repair shop. Later, I discovered that Lexus had issued a recall for this issue, meaning many cars from this batch had similar problems. We contacted the Melbourne Lexus Dealer again, but they said the recall period had ended. When we asked why we weren't notified, they said it was because we didn't have maintenance done at their dealership. My questions are: 1. When I purchased the vehicle, I didn't sign any contract requiring maintenance at a Lexus dealer. 2. Lexus covers all the costs for recalls, so why didn't the Melbourne Lexus dealer or JM Lexus notify me? Lexus is a high-end brand under Toyota, but the behavior of Lexus dealerships in this matter is very disappointing and, some might say, unacceptable. At the time, my English proficiency and understanding of the law were not very good, but I have since gained a better understanding through online research, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and learned about my legal rights. The following four pictures include one from 2011 and the other three show the current severe condition of the interior cracks. This car has been through two major accidents, but the engine and major components are still functioning properly. What I love most about this car is its built-in CD changer that can hold six CDs at once, which was a standout feature at the time. Additionally, the car's exterior design is very sleek, and the streamlined headlights are beautifully designed. If this were to happen in Japan, the person in charge at Lexus would personally apologize and ensure the car is repaired. This is because I am very familiar with the Japanese work ethic. The image provided is a scanned note from my iPhone's note app, and I've erased my address because I don't want to expose my personal information. This image is an advertisement sent to me by Lexus last week. which proves that Lexus has all of my records, including my address and phone number.

Grok diagnosed my issue, but none of the local auto shops could get me in, and my car was dying at intersections. Kia got me in the same day that I called, concurred with the Grok diagnosis, and resolved the issue before lunchtime... and bonus, didn't charge me an obscene fee. Sure they offered additional service up-charges. Sure they tried selling me a new car. Sure their WiFi was unusable for Zoom calls over VPN. But most of that was expected. Thank you to Dustin and the rest of the team who got me ready for a road trip. Much appreciated!

My first interaction with Jackson Kia started online after I received a Kelley Blue Book offer for my vehicle. Shortly after, I began receiving multiple calls from the dealership expressing strong interest in purchasing my car. During the first conversation, I was completely transparent that I was currently in a lease with Acura but was interested in potentially getting out of it and purchasing a Kia. From the start, the experience felt pressured. A manager told me I needed to make an appointment and made a point to say that if I didn't come in, it would take away from other customers and the dealership. That immediately made me uncomfortable. That same week, I received at least five more calls from different salespeople asking when I was coming in. I explained multiple times that my fiancé was also purchasing a truck that day and that we would come in when we could. I was told they would be "ready" & "roll out the red carpet" for us. When we arrived, it was clear they had no idea who I was. A salesperson sat down with us, pulled up inventory, and took notes on all of the vehicles I was interested in. Once I mentioned my Acura lease, he brought over a manager who immediately began asking how much I owed. At that point, I simply wanted the offer on my vehicle that they had aggressively contacted me about. Instead, I was told Acura blocks dealerships and they couldn't help me get out of the lease. That was fine - I said I'd handle that myself and reiterated that I was still interested in purchasing a Kia, cash. While there, my fiancé asked for an appraisal on his Toyota 4Runner to compare it to another dealership's offer. They were gone for less than five minutes and came back with "about $10,000," handed him the keys, closed the browser, shook our hands, and ushered us out. No breakdown, no effort. I wasn't even offered the chance to see a single vehicle I had come in for. For context, another dealership had already offered him $24,000, and the next one offered over $20,000. The offer from Kia was an obvious lowball & made it clear they had no interest in working with us once they realized the lease situation wasn't easy. We walked out stunned wondering if that actually just happened. The next day, I received a text from a manager saying, "We're sorry we missed you yesterday." This showed a complete lack of communication, considering I had been physically in the dealership the day before. I explained what happened and commented that the "red carpet" they promised felt like a joke. Trying to recover the situation, the manager told me there were "ways around" the lease and encouraged us to come back. After confirming details with Acura, we foolishly gave them another chance. During this visit, the same manager accidentally sent me a text clearly meant for another employee about an upset customer arriving--unprofessional, but consistent with the pattern. He hyped up what he called an "insane, crazy deal" on a vehicle listed around $32,000, already over my stated $30,000 budget. He returned with a final number of $43,000 out the door, including nearly $11,000 in fees, one of which was an almost $5,000 mandatory warranty. If a fee is not optional, it should be included in the advertised price. These fees were significantly higher than every other dealership we visited. We walked away. We went on to work with several other dealerships including Dodge, Toyota, Honda, Acura, etc., and I can confidently say this was the worst experience. One dealership even warned us not to go to Jackson Kia because of poor service and excessive fees. Ironically, I did decide to purchase a Kia--just not from Jackson Kia. The lack of communication, aggressive pressure followed by dismissal, and outrageous fees made this one of the most stressful car-buying experiences I've ever had. I will absolutely be warning others to avoid this dealership, because I would hate for anyone else to go through what we did.
