This was my first Brazilian, and instead of creating a calm, supportive environment, Meena became visibly agitated and began loudly ranting about political issues related to her home country, then she began yelling. Her tone escalated to the point where it felt aggressive. I was lying exposed on the table during this. I expressed that I was uncomfortable, and I had to be the one to regulate her emotions, while she stopped speaking so loudly and intensely, the energy in the room shifted in a way that felt tense and hostile for the remainder of the appointment. A Brazilian wax requires a high level of trust. Clients are physically vulnerable and often anxious, especially the first time. Emotional regulation and professionalism are not optional in that setting. At the end of the service, while I was still in a vulnerable state, she took out her phone and began showing me graphic videos, including footage of people being killed. Being shown violent content during a waxing appointment is completely inappropriate and deeply distressing. I did not consent to being exposed to graphic material, and it was extremely uncomfortable. I was also given zero aftercare instructions despite clearly stating this was my first Brazilian. No guidance about heat exposure, friction, exfoliation timing, or what to expect post-wax. Within 24 hours, I developed significant redness across the area. Without aftercare direction, I was left anxious about whether this reaction was normal. This experience felt emotionally unsafe and lacked basic professional boundaries. A service that intimate should feel calm, respectful, and supportive -- not tense, aggressive, and unpredictable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because clients deserve safety and professionalism in spaces like this

Of course this isn't a painless experience, but Shymell makes the environment really comfortable and quick. Shymell is so fun and easy to talk to. It really feels like I'm chatting with an old friend during our sessions. She is clean, thorough and articulate. In the past, I've found that previous waxers have left quite a bit of hair from time to time. Nothing will ever be perfect and there will always been fine hairs left behind, but Shymell makes sure that there is virtually no hair left. I love that the salon carries many of the products that are used as well as other trinkets like greeting cards. You might be able to find cheaper prices elsewhere for the same services, but you won't find this kind of high quality service and care anywhere else. But Alresa is so good with threading that my eyebrows literally inspired art (no joke, someone started using them as a reference for their work). The process is so quick and affordable, and she graciously puts up with my constant sneezes and eye watering. Despite my runny nose and eyes while getting threaded, she makes it as painless as possible. I've even had a Brazilian by her and it was the least painful I've ever had and she had wonderful care tips. She has separate, private rooms for various services, but no matter where you end up, the atmosphere is so calming. She has heaters if you get cold, aloe for eyebrow redness, and paper underwear for waxing. I honestly can't imagine going anywhere else. I haven't tried any of her other services, but I don't doubt they're just as great as the ones I've experienced. Pro-tip: plan to schedule appointments AT LEAST 2 weeks in advance, maybe even more if you have something special coming up and the online scheduler allows it.

My nails have grown into my skin my whole life, and since I was a kid I'd cut and rip the sides of the nails to prevent pain and always had to keep my nails extremely short. The picture shows before and after 3 months (out of 6 months for the whole process) of braces Imie uses to straighten the nail. I will update after the completed 6 month cycle! My nails have NEVER been this long, I've never gone this long without pain, I've never felt this comfortable wearing sandals before. Imie can seriously fix any problem you have with your feet, she's highly professional, the salon is so clean, and Anna and Imie are now both vaccinated and take many other Covid precautions!

I've been going to Vibrant for a few years now, since well before the redesign. I have always loved the atmosphere and they would do my nails SO well. They were always my go-to and I would always leave super happy with how my nails looked. I'm sad to say that the quality of the service I've received has been steadily declining recently. The past few times I've come in, my nail tech has rushed through, skipped steps, and unfortunately just done a poor and inattentive job. I've been leaving unhappy with the pedicure and feeling like the paint job doesn't look very nice either. I don't get my manicures done with them anymore, but it seems like they prioritize those. I always tip over 25% in cash regardless. I have a gift card (first time) that I haven't used, so I will give Vibrant another chance, but sadly I think I will be switching nail salons after that :( bummer read more

This place is indeed a gem! Despite the commute, I go see Teena for my hair cut. Her sister, Nikki, does my nails and eyebrows. Truth is I got tired trying salons in the area and not satisfied with the service that I was ecstatic when Nikki informed me that Teena was opening her salon in Berkeley. (We were new to the area when they used to own a nail spa in Lafayette.) Teena always gives me a haircut that gets compliments! When I get my nails done, their chairs are super-comfy. The loft where they do my eyebrows are super clean and has a relaxing vibe. All these factors... and should I say, a new look... make the trip worthwhile!!! read more

Everything came out so beautiful and clean , I'm truly so happy with the results. I've been coming to Vibrant Nails and Lashes for years, and they've always done such a great job, but today was especially wonderful. Just had my first appointment with her chloe and I'm seriously impressed! As a new lash tech, she was super professional, gentle, and made me feel totally comfortable. She walked me through the whole process and really took her time to make sure everything was perfect. My lashes turned out gorgeous natural-looking, even, and exactly the style I asked for. While I think this salon is decent at regular/gel manicures (my pedicure was great) I do not recommend going here for anything beyond that. A few things: - The color was not the one I selected. I selected a pearl color and it went on clear - I was reassured it would match the sample after three coats. It did not. - The polish wasn't drying properly, so the technician had to repaint my thumb several times. Each time she repainted she did so without a base coat, when I suggested she start with a base coat it finally stuck. - The top coat was not smooth at all, but patchy and I had to request they apply it over many nails - The glue under the Gel-X was so thick it actually cut my skin and I had to file it at home - The actual gel x nails started to fall off as soon as I got home. I asked another salon closer to where I live to reapply and they were shocked by the job that was done. - More nails kept falling off - 6 so far. It's been 3 days. I would have gone back to get this completely redone but I was traveling and am out of town for the holidays so I have to fix this elsewhere. Update on 12/22/23: Hi Glamour Salon team: Thank you for the offer to refill, but I have to travel to three cities this holiday (which is why I was hoping these nails would last). I had to squeeze in an appointment to a nearby salon to redo my nails. While I won't be coming back, I would appreciate a refund of the manicure (not the pedicure or the tip), if possible.

She starts taking the color off and her drill kept going on my skin and my body jumped from being startled and she said "honey I'm not cutting your skin, I'm just taking the color off". My eyes were getting teary at this point. I told her no color and left paying $20 less than what was the original price for what I asked for. She said it would be $60, I gave her a $10 tip and it seemed she herself was surprised I tipped because she came after me and said I paid $70, I told her keep it, your tip. Left crying on Christmas Eve. If a customer asks if you know how to do it and you don't, just please say no and show some designs you're capable of doing.
