Top quality bakery with a line of people trying to get inside. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I suggest getting here early before the rush or at least peak times.

Our first visit to Vicente prior to daughters tennis match. We didn't check the closing time but we arrived in enough time to get some of their bake goods and a latte. My daughter said their artisan croissants are as delicious as the ones we had in Paris. To our surprise as we placed our last order they gifted us a croissant which later on after the match she couldn't wait to have another bite. We will come back to try more things in the menu. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a nice little spot!! Definitely not a hidden gem by any means, and the lines are often out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwich was piping hot, fresh from the oven/stove, and MASSIVE. The croissant, egg, bacon, and sauce were all perfect honestly- one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in Charlotte. The pistachio croissant was also pretty good, but a bit stiff. I went at 10am but maybe if I go back earlier in the morning the pastries will be fresher. The seating inside is limited, but there are some outdoor spots too. Cost was quite steep, at $40 for the croissant, breakfast sandwich, and two lattes.

Went here after searching on Yelp for bakeries in Charlotte. WOW is all I can say. The smell when you open the door is insane. Service was attentive and quick. From the coffees to the baked goods, no words. The croissants were the best croissants I've ever had in my life. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and check them out.

Wow wow wow amazinggg!! I don't even know what else to say! I got a breakfast croissant- it was so flaky, wasn't hard, and was huge for the price! What a great bang for your buck! There was a pretty long line but was worth it especially when you bite into the croissant. I would go early as they run out of pastries pretty fast and once it's gone you won't get it until the following day! Parking can be a struggle so I would recommend you park in the stable hand parking lot and walk over- it's about a block away!

Yes, the best bakery in Charlotte; no need to fly to Paris for a croissant when you have these buttery & delicious pastry locally. I visited Charleston for 5 days & visited Vicente twice. This is a reason to fly back to Charlotte from Las Vegas!!

We visited Vicente on a Sunday morning for breakfast. I didn't get to try a lot of stuff since we got there pretty late, but what I tried they excelled at. I got a dulce de leche croissant which took me right back to street vendors in Cuzco, Peru, but with more impressive lamination. We also got a cheesecake which was delicious. I can see why people love this place!

The best pastry shop for a consistent supply and beautiful variety of croissants in Charlotte! I love their spinach feta croissant! Order it heated up as its crust is extra flakey and enjoyable to eat when hot.

South end French Bakery. This is one of the best French bakeries in the city lord everything looked AMAZING! I wanted to buy it all but had to stop my self ! The inside was nice and cozy grab a quick pastry, breakfast sandwich, coffee. It's great, some of the employees do speak Spanish for everyone that's interested. Definitely give them a try you won't regret it I mean look at the pictures they speak for there self.

Hubby saw them on TT and we had to add this to our Saturday morning. When you walk in there is a counter with a half-glass wall with lots of treats behind it. We got in line and someone quickly started bagging our items. You choose your items and pay at that glass counter. They did have another side with coffee orders. We got a Classic Croissant, a Dulce De Leche and Crownie (recommended by an employee). We thought they would've warmed them up but they didn't. Our favorite was absolutely the Dulce De Leche. It has great texture and flavor. The croissant also had a good texture and flakiness. Hubby wants to try their breakfast sandwiches next time. Lastly, the Crownie wasn't our favorite; the thick brownie inside the croissant would've been better warmed. 6/21

Cinnamon rolls for Mother's Day!!! Heavenly! Absolute best bakery in the area and definitely the best cinnamon rolls we've had. It's true they sell out early but it's absolutely worth it to get in early!

The concept is really cute, my only issue is the fact that because it's an open air bakery, I saw a few flies and gnats on the pastries. The service wasn't stellar or particularly friendly, they were fast and the pastry is really good, I would give it another try. Bottom line- $6-10 for a pastry is a little pricey but if you are okay with that price point, by all means, give it a try.

Vicente has easily become my new favorite bakery in Charlotte! It is a fast casual spot with a variety of bakery items, sandwiches, and coffee selections. I have loved every item I've tried here including the spinach and feta pastry, tomato and goat cheese pastry, and of course, the chocolate croissant. All of their baked goods are decently large with a crunchy/flaky texture. Vicente is in walking distance to many other South End favorites and is easily accessible from the light rail. There are only a few tables inside so I'd recommend taking some bakery items and a coffee to go. The staff is great and very helpful with sharing their fav items as well! 10/10 recommend!

They had offered samples of their lemon tart at the event, which stayed on my mind--so I came back and ordered the Lorraine-style quiche. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced by a fresh side salad. I paired it with a café au lait, which was equally well done. The ambiance is effortlessly chic--very much reminiscent of a European café--and it was lively during lunch. It's the kind of place where you can sit, linger, and people-watch... and SouthPark definitely showed up in style. At one point, several guests seated near us were speaking French, which added to the authenticity and overall experience. Service was warm and efficient, even with the crowd. The bakery itself is on the smaller side--you order inside and then head outside to sit and eat. I went on a Sunday, so it was very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. When seating fills up, the neighboring restaurant allows use of their patio, which is a thoughtful touch. My friend enjoyed her quiche as well, and we both agreed it's a spot worth returning to--whether for a casual lunch, coffee, or a pastry break. I also order a few macarons to go and my family enjoyed them.

Review for Renaissance Patisserie…read more After relocating to Charlotte from San Francisco, one of the first things I searched for was a proper kouign-amann (pronounced queen-ah-mahn). It's a staple where I'm from, and when I discovered that Renaissance Patisserie carried it, I made the drive immediately. I'm happy to say--this place is the real deal. The kouign-amann here reminded me of the ones back in San Francisco. It wasn't quite as buttery or rich as some of the West Coast versions, but it was absolutely enjoyable--and most importantly, I finished every bite. That alone says a lot. Location & setting: Renaissance is tucked into the upscale specialty shops of SouthPark, in a lovely, polished shopping center surrounded by quality retailers like Williams Sonoma and several restaurants. Parking is plentiful and convenient, and once you step out of your car, you're welcomed into a charming outdoor courtyard that feels relaxed and refined. You'll immediately notice the bright yellow awning--it's cheerful and inviting--and inside, the bakery is just as charming. The black-and-white tile floors, small bistro tables, and beautifully arranged pastry case create a classic European feel. It's not a huge space--maybe six or seven tables--but it feels cozy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. What makes it special: * A stunning pastry case filled with beautifully crafted desserts and laminated pastries * Skilled bakers and decorators--you can tell there's real craftsmanship behind the products * Friendly, efficient service * Apple Pay accepted (always appreciated) * Self-service water and condiments station * Clean, comfortable environment * A lovely outdoor patio that's perfect when the weather cooperates I do wish they occasionally experimented with more creative variations of the kouign-amann--perhaps seasonal fruit or specialty flavors--but even in its classic form, it's consistently a hit. I've brought these pastries to friends and gatherings, and they're always well received. What I appreciate most is that Renaissance delivers on quality and consistency. It may be a newer trend here in Charlotte, but these pastries have been a long-standing favorite in cities like San Francisco, and it's wonderful to see that level of craftsmanship available locally. Bottom line: Beautiful pastries, fair prices, great service, and a polished, welcoming atmosphere. This has become my go-to bakery in Charlotte, and if you appreciate well-made French pastries, you will not be disappointed.

Most of the selection leaned toward classic pastries and cream-filled donuts. Everything looked fresh and tasted fine, but the variety felt fairly basic. In my opinion, it doesn't quite reach the same level as Paris Baguette when it comes to selection. Insider tip: Skip the weekends. It gets extremely crowded and parking is already challenging. The inside was immaculate and beckoning, with a two-sided display of the offerings and a shining espresso machine behind the register. The workers bore welcoming smiles and a a polite, inviting nature. All of that is the reason I give this patisserie three stars instead of two. While some foods are still a mystery to me - barbecue I can just take or leave, mostly leave - I know coffee and I know baked goods. The croissant I sampled was dry, implying unkindly that the flaky pastry dough was either formerly frozen or not fresh, and while croissants aren't exactly the moistest pastry to be found, the idea behind making them is kneading and rolling in a lot of butter, which I truly could not taste. What a disappointment. And somehow, somehow, my latte, albeit freshly prepared before me, was lukewarm when I took my first sip on the way to the car. How is that even possible? At the last minute, I asked for caramel to be added to my drink, but that was imperceptible too. I'd forgotten to ask for it to be half sweet, so I guess that was a blessing in disguise. When you stop by a bakery late in the day you sort of pays your money and takes your chances, but I visited just before noon. No crowds either. Disappointing all around, though again, the ambiance invites lingering. Cute bistro, lovely people, but - and I cannot believe I'm saying this - I'd have done better at the nearby Starbucks if all I wanted to do was get a latte and pastry. As the French would say, domage.
