They were very quick but thorough, getting all 7 ladies of the wedding party dolled up on time and with touch-ups after the photoshoot, after the ceremony, after the cocktail hour, etc. They brought with them a vast array of products, colors, and tools. OK, let's be honest. I don't really come here for myself. But seeing as my wife doesn't have an account with yelp, I will post this review for her. I will say that she has come here repeatedly for various occasions. The latest being a co-workers wedding, tonight. She loves it here and would come back for future occasions. She was referred here by my sister in law, and she is grateful she did. I've been here a couple times as well to drive her here. Everyone is so nice, accommodating, and great at what they do. It was hard to find a makeup artist (specifically working with Asian skin) who was able to start at 7:30am or who was even available a few months away from a September wedding! I worked with Mike who helped me book my session at the store and he was so pleasant, polite and professional! The day before my session, I called the store and Mike picked up and immediately knew who I was. He then sent a text later on in the evening and confirmed the appointment once more. It may seem a little overkill with confirming twice, but having had a bad experience in another country when my MUAH never showed up for our appointment even WITH a confirmation, I didn't mind the extra step Mike had taken. I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and the team was already there. Hera and Leah were both so amazing! I was blown away by my makeup and my hair style. They truly executed the style I wanted exceptionally and it lasted all day. I received so many compliments at my wedding! They may be a little on the pricier end (~$400 after tax and tip for bridal makeup.. it is cheaper for bridesmaids and everyone else), but after seeing the results, I would highly recommend them! I came here to get my eyeliner semi permanent tattoo done. Making an appointment was quick and easy. The process was surprisingly very quick. I went with one friend and we were both done in one hour total. The set price includes one retouch session which you book for about a month after your first session. In my honest opinion i didn't feel any pain or discomfort. I think it really depends on the person because my friend felt pain during the procedure. I was a little disappointed because after my first session you cant really tell i got the eyeliner tattoo because the line is super thin. The technician said it will be more visible after the second session so we will see. Overall, the place was super clean. It is located inside a wedding studio. read more

I was a bridesmaid and needed someone to do my make up and hair for a Saturday morning wedding (5/16/15). I had to get to the wedding venue which was in Long Island by 9:30AM so it was quite difficult to find a make up artist for 7AM. After some research, I found VickyC5 through Yelp and through recommendations and I'm so thankful I did! Most places were charging me an extra $200 just for opening early for me & another girlfriend of mine but VickyC5 opened early for us for NO EXTRA CHARGE! They were very professional and accommodating through the whole thing. I emailed them with lots of questions and they answered promptly and everything was done through email/telephone which was great especially if you're working. I was able to make a deposit over the phone and just had to pay the remaining balance on the day of. My friend and I got there at 6:50ish for a 7AM appointment. We told the artists exactly what we wanted with our hair & make up (simple & natural) and that's exactly what we got! And to make it even better, they finished both of us around 8:15AM! Gave us plenty of time to get dressed and head to the venue. The artists we had were professional and worked their magic. We came out feeling beautiful! We also received lots of compliments throughout the day. I will definitely be using them again for my next big event! Wish I can use them every day! read more

Review 5/1/18 - I highly, highly recommend VickyC5 for wedding makeup and hair services. They did an AMAZING job on my wedding day. My makeup and hair were on point, and my bridesmaids looked gorgeous. Everybody said that I looked like a different person and admired my hair and makeup. I was so happy to find a Korean makeup artist who was able to do Asian makeup. I had bridesmaids who are Korean, Philippino, and Chinese, and VickyC5 was able to do my bridesmaids' makeup extremely well. Everyone looked very pretty and like the best version of themselves. I had done makeup trials with 2 other vendors before I found VickyC5, and I was so disappointed with the results. By the time I tried VickyC5, I was worried I wouldn't find a good makeup artist for myself. Fortunately, my 3rd and last makeup trial was with VickyC5. I CANNOT say enough terrible things about this place. RUN RUN RUN AWAY! SAVE YOURSELF FROM THE HEADACHE AND AGGRAVATION!! They will tell you everything you want to hear but execute a very poor job. Their skills and experience are limited to maybe people with good "typical" Asian skin. They cannot recommend provide advice on your skin type, hair type or what may work best with a venue (outdoor vs. indoor) that has a lasting power to look good the entire day or execute something off a picture. They are COOKIE CUTTERS and VANILLA that will provide you results that are blah or you would be better off getting a friend to do it if you choose them. They will also not make the mistake of providing you any guarantees or your satisfaction on their work. Their consultation is WEAK but they will be quick to offer that you come back so they can try something else that you will like more for MORE money for their subpar services. Their eyelashes also fell off - what a rip-off. They will also take advantage of you emotionally as a bride. Wish I looked at these reviews first because unless you know them or speak their language, you are out of luck in communicating with them because they will "misunderstand" what you are saying to their advantage. I was literally donned head-to-toe in VickyC5! I bought my wedding gown, veil, earrings and hair accessory from VickyC5 AND they did my hair and makeup! The result? I was one happy bride, confident in her coming debut. All of Vicky and Hera's suggestions were great and they knew what would best flatter me. It's funny because the very first wedding gown I ever tried on was with Vicky, and it was the one I ended up getting, even though I did go to other places to try on other gowns. Originally, I went to her Bayside salon to book a hair/makeup appointment, not knowing that she also sold dresses. However, after booking the hair/makeup, she suggested I try on this dress and it ended up being the one I selected! For my hair and makeup, Hera did a fabulous job and I love the up-do she gave me. She made my hair tendrils fall in a very natural manner, which stayed put the whole duration of the wedding festivities! Vicki and her team deserves all the praise for making me feel and look amazing on my wedding day. From the day of the trial to the actual day, she was always easily reached through her team and she allayed any anxiety that comes with such a big day. She exceeded my expectations and despite it being a windy day, my makeup and hair stayed put for the outdoor photos. I wanted them for the touch up package (where they come to your venue and stay for a certain number of hours) and while it is an additional charge, I highly recommend it!!! Vicki and Hera changed my hair for the ceremony and for the reception and touched up my makeup for more drama and partying during the reception and I am so glad she did. Not only that, I wore traditional outfits and getting in and out of my wedding dress (lace corset back) was not easy but the experience and professionals that they are, they did it very quickly and they helped me significantly even though they were not there for that purpose. All in all, incredibly professional and worth every penny. I would hire them again in a heartbeat if I ever have another event. You don't want to skimp on your wedding day but the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. Additionally the studio in bayside is very pretty for getting ready photos if you don't want to be at your house with all the chaos.
