South Coast Plaza has redeemed itself form the hideous Christmas Tree they had a few years ago…read more It's still one of the nicest indoor malls in Southern California, and on a hot day, it's a nice reprise from the heat. It's rare for a mall these days to not have empty store fronts. While South Coast Plaza has a lot of "coming soon" store fronts, the store fronts that say "Some special coming soon" are very rare, and are mostly in the Macy's Home Store Wing, but even that is almost full. The one thing I had to put on the review is that South Coast Plaza has the nicest restrooms! They're almost high-end resort level. They are well kept and very clean. The garage for paper towels can sometimes overflow, but that's super minor. I don't use it, but they have a really nice family lounge as well.

The whole area has a cool, laid back vibe that feels different from your typical shopping center. There are lots of unique shops to browse, along with great food and drink options like Seabirds, Stella Jean's, and other local favorites. Since it's an outdoor shopping center, we got to enjoy the beautiful California sunshine while walking around. One of my favorite parts was all of the art installations scattered throughout the property. They add so much character to the space and make it feel creative and fun. Plus, there are plenty of Instagram worthy spots if you love taking photos. We spent some time checking out the different shops and ended up stopping by Blends. The service there was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful, and took the time to answer my questions without making me feel pressured to buy anything. I ended up finding a pair of Asics sneakers that I absolutely loved. The pricing was also surprisingly good, which made the purchase even better. Whether you're hanging out with friends, looking for unique stores, or exploring Orange County for the day, it's definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back!

I used to visit SOCO for the waffle store on the corner or the Shucks Oyster bar. Now the chocolate or red velvet cupcakes from Susiecakes draw me in. Portola Coffee is still the longstanding purveyor of fine caffeinated drinks. We Olive bar has a bevy of beverages. Palm and Patties burgers is a favorite of my foodie coworkers and me. Then we frequent Sunright, the boba tea shop.

As it is…read morelocated near the beach, the weather is always nice and there are plenty of places to sit and rest your feet at this mall with a nice view of the beach. The mall does tend towards high end stores with a small smattering of standard stores but in general, there are a wide variety of stores. Plenty of dining options from high end or quick casual. You can even do your grocery shopping here as there is a Whole Foods market. They occasionally have special events. I happened to be here during the Lunar New Year event so one of the areas was decked out with Year of the Horse decorations. I also always walk by the Koi pond to see how the fishes are doing. Staff has always been friendly and helpful when I visit.

It is a very nice mall with many stores outside the enclosed mall, as well as inside. Although it was warm this past weekend, it was actually somewhat cool and breezy here. Many families with kids are back outside to enjoy themselves like the older days. Feel so calm and relaxed every time I come here.

The important thing to know is that if you come during the holidays or on a weekend, it will be busy. The good thing is, as long as you don't mind parking on the very upper levels and walking a bit, I've always been able to find parking. But if you don't like walking at all, this probably isn't the center for you, and there's a lot of walking if you want to explore everything! What I love about this center is that you have everything from Nordstrom to Target, literally! You can find some very unique restaurants, along with typical chains, so there's something for everyone. We'll occasionally see a movie here as well, but that's another review. What impresses me the most is how well-maintained and clean everything is. Even the elevators in the parking garages are graffiti-free, which is very unusual. Now, not all the locations have maintained their interiors as well, but that's on them and not the Irvine Spectrum. My favorite time to come is still in December. We've always found the night atmosphere to have a lot of great energy. And yes, there are a lot of teens who hang around and have loud fun; they're harmless and add to the energy.

A great walking mall...a gathering place for Central OC…read more... There are a lot that are new and changes. A new Apple Store, a Columbia store and a Nike store. On the weekend there are simply more people. The first mall in America with a Nordstrom and a Target. One of the first mall with a 20 plex movie theater. Now it is a Regal--no longer an Edward. The changes keeps happening, but it is always filled with shops--no empty, open space. I like to walk my nephew's dogs here. They like it here as well. Everyone is happy. Ray out!

[Parking]: There's a designated parking structure for the village. The rate is $10.00 for the first hour, $2.50 each 15 minutes, and $50.00 daily max. Visitors can get a complimentary all day self-parking when spending $250 or more at any of retail merchants within the village - just show receipt(s) totaling $250 or more to the parking attendant. Complimentary 1 hour self-parking with validation with any tenant listed in the Lido Marina Village's directory. [IMPORTANT SPECIAL NOTE]: Herst Coffee Roasters does NOT validate the parking ticket! Only the following dine & drink places validate: Circle Hook, La La Land Kind Cafe (coming soon), Lido Bottle Works, Malibu Farm, Nobu, Skal Pizza, and Zinque. Basically there's no easy "affordable" way to get your ticket validated except for one tip. [PARKING TIP]: I was able to get a free validation at Malibu Farm Lido Home Collection. I simply walked up to the cashier counter and said that I need ticket validation & cashier validated my ticket without asking for any receipts. [Experience]: The village has a nice shoreline view. Check the event page on their website for live music on the Lido Deck performance, floral workshops, etc. [Conclusion]: If I compare this village to other high-end shopping centers in LA/Orange County, then I think retail shop options are pretty mediocre (I like 2ND & PCH a lot better). Good spot to take Instagrammable pictures, but expect doing mostly window shopping than actual shopping at this village.

Live music is often hosted right outside Nobu and Zinqué, with plenty of seating and a wonderful waterfront backdrop. Overall, it's a must-visit in Newport Beach for both locals and visitors.

Sadly, I think it's gone downhill over the years. I see so much potential for what it could be, but it's just not. I do think the Western Bar was a good edition and Seville is nice too. But, it feels really run down. When I went today, none of the escalators were operational and they were extremely dirty with gum stuck all over. I'm not sure if the elevators were working or not, or maybe just really slow! I could not find a public bathroom, and still not sure if one existed. I'd love to see Triangle Square get some shops, maybe a dirty soda shop or ice cream. I think it is a great location and has so much potential.

I started parking across the street in the residential area because of this! There are medical businesses, restaurants, coffee, a workout business, and a nail salon to name a few. The building itself is a new, more modern type of place. It's not my favorite place due to the parking and cold modern look of the inside of the building. Very industrial feel, no originality.

Sort of an all in one stop, but nothing truly stands out. I do like Krisers and go to CVS a lot, but rarely go to the others. It is, however, in a nice area, has plenty of parking, and can be a good anchor to explore other shops around. Wish I could offer more....
