I've been going to this oil change establishment for about two years now and I felt the need to write this review because I had seen a couple reviews that were not giving the workers the accolades that they deserve. I have never been treated with such respect than this establishment. I've encountered several workers at victory Lane over the past two years and all of them have been very informative and honest on how my car is running, completely trustworthy when discussing oil types, driving fluids, belts wear and oil filter change schedule. I have never felt ripped off or lied to. The technicians are very courteous and thorough in checking to see that all caps and bolts have been tightened (they do a second technician verification) so that there are no leaks (oil or other fluids) when you leave. Went there last week as my normal oil change place was closed. Full disclosure, I have used this location one other time in the past without issue. Service was completed without issue and my receipt showed one price. However, my credit card was charged more than what was on the receipt. I assumed it was a mis-entry and went back today to resolve the issue. The person working today said the discrepancy was the additional 3% they charge for using a credit card. He stated that it is clearly posted and that they "tell everyone" prior to using a card. He showed me the sign which is on a side wall and about the size of a 1/3 piece of paper. It is covered in plastic which makes it nearly impossible to see and read with the glare of the lighting. However, it is posted. I however was not told and this person wanted to tell me that I was even though he admits to not being present at the time. Long story short is buyer beware at this location. I have no issue with a company trying to recoup costs but they need to be upfront about it and tell people and post the signage large enough for it to be seen rather than being deceptive about it. The "card" fee should also be on the customers receipt as well. read more

As someone that used to perform all of their own oil changes, I really enjoy this specific Victory Lane location. I've been driving a leased vehicle for nearly three years and have been bringing it to an unrelated Victory location for every change. I choose Victory Lane (mainly because I can't stand waiting at the Dealership, yet I still prefer that my oil changes are officially documented since I don't own the vehicle). I also don't enjoy the average run-of-the-mill oil that dealerships offer, and I'm not allowed to change my own oil on my apartment's property. Techs at my dealership have scoffed at me and suggested that I bring the lease in every 3,000 miles if I prefer that it continue running correctly, despite its requirement of fully synthetic oil. Usually, I take my lease to the Brighton Victory Lane location, but I've had a couple of bad experiences there with my lease and two other vehicles. To be fair, my services in Brighton were performed over a ten year span; I digress, as we're talking about Howell here. Anyways, I realized I've been driving past this Howell Victory Lane location every day for over two and a half years, so I decided to stop in for my last oil change. I can easily say that it was a much more professional environment than I'm used to. The Technicians here seem to be an older and more well-seasoned group of guys. Simply put, these are the Gentlemen you want working on your vehicle! The Techs here that I've spoken with are hardened Mechanics. They're extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My oil change was completed quickly, followed by a checklist of current and upcoming services recommended per the vehicle's age and current mileage. I've previously (repeatedly) been told by others that my vehicle has no cabin air filter... Yet the Technicians at this location acknowledged that it does in fact have one, and swapped it out with a new replacement in less than a minute after I excitedly agreed. Furthermore, they brought up the topic of the cabin air filter on their own, which was greatly appreciated. I knew it had a cabin air filter! They understand the vehicle I drive. Awesome! This morning my lease presented a "Check Oil" message on the dash, despite being much too early for an oil change. I didn't observe any oil leaks during my own inspection, but I brought it back to this Howell location on my way home this evening for further analysis. The Technicians at this location inspected the vehicle for leaks and assisted me in resetting the alarm message while inviting me back and reminding me I'm welcome to show up if the issue persisted. The oil that the Technicians showed me on my dipstick is still clean and beautiful, and also shows to be at the correct capacity. If you need an oil change in Livingston County, I highly recommend this Howell location. Also, I wouldn't doubt that the Techs here will be able to offer deeper knowledge, advice and suggestions on solutions to issues that involve makes and models spanning the last few decades. It's a great place to bring your vehicle to , especially before long trips. They've got your back here for sure. I look forward to my next visit. read more

Went in for a simple oil change. Nothing wrong, other than time for an oil change. It was mentioned that the coolant could use a flush and figured it wouldn't be a bad idea. They hook up the machine, the overflow looks like it's a blender on the frappe setting, then the radiator gave out. $850 later, I'm back on the road. Make your own judgement, but it was one heck of an expensive "simple oil change". read more

They didn't try up selling me on anything which is nice and acknowledged I was a veteran, giving me a discount without saying anything (saw my hat on the dash). Very disappointed... attempted to get an oil change but after waiting for approximately a half hour and an employee comes out to tell a couple of us that we have to back up because they were closing. A more professional site would have a cone or sign to place behind the last vehicle or better yet service your customers. read more

This was my third visit here and every experience has been outstanding! All employees have been friendly and helpful. They go the extra mile, checked my battery as well as all my fluids and put air in my tires, including my spare underneath my truck! They offer suggestions on parts that may need replaced and give you local companies that carry them so I know they aren't saying it just to make a few more dollars on you.
