His brother also works at the dealership and made sure my gas tank was full the morning we came to pick up the car. Great guys. Be aware: there was a sales person who came in at the negotiation phase who was disrespectful. Chris could tell I was not pleased with the negotiating, and brought back his general manager who was very reasonable and professional and helped us finish the deal. I waited 5 months and 8,000 miles before submitting a review for the pre-owned 2017 Outback Limited I purchased from Victory in August 2018. I liked that there was no pressure to buy. It wasn't a "one day deal" and if I didn't buy immediately the deal would be gone. The sales manager Bill and finance manager Ryan, were great. Once I knew which model I wanted it all came down to the $$ and initially we were too far away. I left Bill with my "all in" price that I wanted to pay. Victory Subaru is the WORST dealership I ever had to deal with. I bought a 2006 Pontiac GTO from them and the rear right axle shaft snapped in half. I only had the car 2 months and they made me pay half for them to fix it!! Now the same axle shaft snapped in half again 6 months later and they told me it was under warranty for 12000 miles or 12 months, so i had it towed there. They put it on the lift and told me they were NOT gonna honor the warranty because the bolts that were holding it in place were wallowed out. That only means one thing to me. It means that the tech DID NOT torque them down to spec. All in all I would NEVER buy or would I EVER have them work on my car. WORST DEALERSHIP EVER!!!! read more

She was very patient with all my questions and spent extra time helping me to understand all the features of my 2018 Legacy. She also interceded with her manager to get a $100. bonus for my friend who recommended me to this dealership. One caveat: do your research ahead of time to be prepared for the negotiating process. took my 2013 subaru that i bought new off the lot in twice for a loud knocking noise coming off the right side of the car, so loud people on the street turn around to see what kind of misery is coming behind them, first time there they said they pulled a rock out of the tire and said that was the problem and it was not the fix, second time they said they could not duplicate the problem and said do not worry about it, as i drove it back home with the noise radiating from the right side. Not to mention all the other small annoyances and problems this car has had since ownership, Subaru the longest lasting car in America if you take it the dealer every month. AVOID read more

This dealership has gone straight downhill in the last 6 months to a year. There's been more turnover in the staff than a roll of toilet paper at a service station rest stop. I've been a faithful customer at Victory for over 2 years now, bringing my WRX for service/repairs and even buying another car at Victory. I went to sell my WRX to Victory and the experience was so terrible it's almost laughable. On Monday, I receive an appraisal to buy my car at $11,000. It's written on paper and since the dealership was a madhouse, they suggested I come back later in the week to finalize the paper and get my check. Fast forward to Friday (4 days later), when I called to confirm that I'm coming in, I get the run-around and I'm made to wait almost an hour until I'm told the paperwork and check is being finalized. Give it another 30 minutes and the "sales manager" comes over to inform me that the sales manager who made the appraisal/agreement to buy my car is "no longer with Victory" and he cannot honor the appraisal, and suggests a deal at $9,000. At no time between Monday and Friday did the salesman or sales manager call to inform me that my deal is no longer being honored, but they had the gall to have me drive almost an hour to the dealership, wait almost 2 hours, to feed me some BS about a new sales manager who won't honor previous appraisals that were written on paper and witnessed by several staff members? Needless to say, that's the final straw for me. The only saving grace left at Victory is the parts department, where the staff is actually honest and interested in helping people out. Shout out to Anthony in parts. Given the plethora of negative reviews on Victory, one would think that management, or even Subaru Corporate, would be interested in trying to turn over a new leaf. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER. I walked in and was forced to endure the remaining five minutes of the incompetent receptionist conversation which contained profanity. After completing my test drive, I was very unhappy with the vehicle. The first salesman I spoke too was nice, but did not offer any opportunity for negotiation. Then the first salesman brought over his boss I assume. This man was RUDE, UNEDUCATED, NON-NEGOTIABLE, AND COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. This is not the way a dealer should operate. Just bought a new Forester from Victory Subaru in Somerset. While the buying experience went well enough (kudos especially to Gino and Michelle), I went back there this morning to pick up plates from my trade in vehicle. When I walked in, there was evidently some type of staff meeting going on in the far corner of the dealership. A manager was very loudly and very disrespectfully castigating his employees over some incident that had happened on Saturday. My presence, as well as another customer was completely ignored while we listened to this diatribe about the ineptness and poor attitudes of the sales associates. I felt very uncomfortable and so elected to wait outside in the 30 degree cold while my license plates were retrieved. When I was buying my Forester, I was impressed by what I saw as a team approach to customer service. However, after my experience this morning, I will never take my car back there for servicing nor can I recommend anyone go there to purchase a vehicle. Any dealership that shows such public disrespect for its employees, certainly does not deserve my business. Happy with the Forester, but will have to find another place for service. read more

Brought my car to this dealership in january with complaints that the heat was not working and smelled like coolant. Told me the wrong coolant was installed in the car and possibly a bad heater core. The service department flushed the coolant and replaced it. Guess what, heat still did not work, and car overheated 4 weeks later due to blown head gaskets. Do not trust service here. read more

My main point in this review is to make sure that all of you are not succumb to the nonsense of some of the sales people at victory Subaru. I have been working with Lauren from Victory Subaru on the telephone regarding trying to sell my current model WRX. Lauren has been trying to influence me to purchase a new model impreza and have me trade in my wrx and corolla. I have told victory Subaru multiple times that I am not interested in trading in vehicles and only interested in selling my current WRX. Phone call after phone call and voicemail after voicemail later, I'm getting fed up. I feel like they are starting to be telemarketers to me especially when you tell them you're not interested in a new vehicle anymore. Lauren has the worst attitude of any Subaru sales person that I know. I may end up having to take this to Subaru of America corporate just to make sure she doesn't try to swindle anyone else or telemarked anyone else into purchasing a new vehicle. This review is just about the sales people at victory Subaru. The service department is definitely different than the sales people. If I were you, do not purchase your next Subaru at Victory Subaru lest you be molested and telemarketed by them every day until you have to take legal action. Especially do not purchase a vehicle from Lauren. She will pretend to be nice to you and then when you state you do not want to purchase a vehicle, she will turn jekyl/hyde on you and give you attitude. Worse car salesperson ever! read more

The dealership mailed me a specific price they would pay for my Suburu if I exchanged it for a new one. After looking at my car and getting the car facts report they confirmed the price. Then after arriving at a price for a new Suburu with the saIesman, the manager told me that they would give me $6000 less than the price they quoted me in the mailing and in person for my Suburu. I left in disgust thinking how this dealership had changed since I purchased my car from the old management. Regarding the reply from the dealer, I was not treated with respect but rather treated in a deceptive way. The salesman knew of the accident (which did no structural or engine damage and which was repaired) when he confirmed the trade-in price that was "guaranteed" in the exchange mailer I received. I was misled regarding the trade-in price which was then downgraded after we arrived at a price for the new car for which it would have been exchanged. I also felt that there was little respect for women shopping for a car. The salesman seemed bored and uninterested in what I said. I am sorry to say that this is a very different dealership since it changed management. read more

I recently purchased a new 2018 Crosstrek from Victory Subaru even though I live in Maryland, I couldn't find a Crosstrek in Maryland with the options I was after, however Victory Subaru had exactly the vehicle I was after on their lot so I called them and was able to quickly work out a deal with Rich which I very satisfied with. I needed to take the train up to NJ to pick up my car and Timur picked me up from the New Brunswick train station and back to the dealership to pick up my vehicle. The car was ready fr me and I was able to get all the paperwork organized relatively quickly and be on my way. I have read some of the other negative reviews offered on this dealership but I can honestly say I was quite happy with the experience I had with them. read more

My Legacy had an oil leak that needed to be fixed so I went to Victory SUBARU service department. Service advisor John Reilly was very knowledgable and after problem was confirmed I was told that it takes about 48 hours to fix the problem and meanwhile they would give me a loaner car. I got brand new 2015 Forester! Nice! My car was ready on very next day so I didn't really had much time to enjoy my new loaner. Later on that week my car had another problem, vdcm module failed so I was back again. I had recieved same treatment. When I went to pick up my Legacy it was ready and guys at Victory Subaru had my car washed and vacuumed . Woohoo! Truly exceptional service! Thank you guys! read more

I was on my way up to Maine from North Carolina when my car magically started to break down at around 4:00 PM on the Jersey Turnpike. I did not know anyone in the area and was forced to use my phone to look for an auto mechanic. Well Lucky for me I was able to get my car to Victory Subaru at about 6:05 PM on a friday evening. They were not able to look at it then, as they had already sent their service team home, however the sales team was very helpful, even calling me a cab to the train station so I could leave the car overnight. Although they had said then that they would probably not be able to look at it until the following Tuesday, I recieved a call on Saturday morning telling me that they had diagnosed the problem and would have it repaired by 2 that afternoon. I was stranged an hour from NYC in a state I did not know, and the people at Victory Subaru came through with flying colors. I cannot express in words how lucky I was to find them and how quickly they were willing to help someone in a very tough situation. If I ever needed to find a mechanic again and I was in the Somerset area of NJ, they would be the first people I would call. read more
