Service here is awesome, staff is really nice and it's a really cool vibe. The food is good, typical Tex mex style food. The ceviche had no flavor, tasted like pure lime juice. The charro beans are delicious and they have a nice kick. Overall it's worth a try but definitely have the expectation on the style of Mexican food.

My husband and I were staying at an Airbnb nearby and found this spot on Yelp. We sat at the bar on a Saturday, which you'd expect would be better service. It wasn't even with 3 bartenders behind the counter. It seemed a bit disorganized. I'd give it a 3/5 for service. I'm picky about my Mexican food. The rice has to be cooked a certain way and the meat not overcooked in the tacos / fajitas. I was impressed so the food was 5/5! The ingredients and flavor were on point. We'll definitely come back for the food.

There is a small parking lot for this restaurant. The service is great though. We were seated right away. The space is big, open and airy. The servers were attentive and checked in. There is a full bar and outdoor seating as well. The food was good. I enjoyed my chicken salad. The black beans were excellent. It is a good portion for the price.

I stopped by here a couple of nights ago for dinner. My wife and I were trying to find a place to eat when we came across Vida Agave. We had actually driven past this place a number of times during the week we were in Galveston, so we knew exactly where it was. The inside of the restaurant is interesting, as the bar looks like a metal-roofed beach bar and fits nicely inside the space with its roughly 20-foot-high ceilings. I had placed our order online, and it said it would be ready in 20 to 25 minutes. When I arrived 23 minutes later, our order was ready, and I was quickly in and out. For dinner that evening, I went with the surf and turf burrito while my wife chose the seafood quesadilla. The menu described mine as beef fajita, grilled shrimp, guacamole, fried string onions, and rice, served with charro beans on the side. My first thought when I saw my burrito was that it looked a little small, but there was plenty of shrimp and beef inside, and it tasted great. By the time I finished it, I realized it definitely wasn't small after all. Afterward, I started in on the charro beans, which ended up being delicious. They had a nice kick to them, and the beans themselves were really flavorful. If all beans tasted like this, I'd be making or ordering them more often. My wife enjoyed her seafood quesadilla as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our food, and I especially liked those charro beans.

Came for my birthday and the birthday dessert was so great I thought about it all night! Churros were so yum! Def would be back for the food and drinks! Staff was great! The restaurant dining area is not the best but def just there for the vibes and great service!

Love this place so much! Every time I visit Galveston I come here at least once. Ceviche is amazing. Flautas plate is amazing. Ice cream taco dessert is amazing. Salsas are flavorful. Service is really great too. Highly recommend.

This place was voted best tacos in Galveston, and I can taste why. The chips and salsa were my first indicator that I was in for a treat. The tamarind Paloma was unexpectedly my favorite Paloma ever. The chimichurri asada tacos were very good, but the rice and beans were my favorite part of the meal. I will be thinking of this place until next time I'm on the island. Fantastic service and with a group of about 30, I was impressed with the efficiency. Very cool place, I highly recommend checking it out!

When back for the second time. It was better than the first. Hit 5 stars. The strawberry margarita hit the spot and was very tasty. Also had the stuffed jalapeño to start with omg it was good. The fajitas for me entree was great meat. The bean were amazing. I think it may be my go to meal.

Enjoyed a lovely happy hour on a Friday at Vida Agave! The happy hour specials were good, and the margarita's were delicious. I had the street corn and margarita from the happy hour menu, and my entrée was from the regular menu. I enjoyed the beer battered salmon taco. For a small extra charge, they replaced the tortilla with a lettuce wrap. The rice and beans were delicious. Service was fast and friendly and the environment was super cute. It's not a large place, but it's definitely a solid little corner restaurant on a popular street in Galveston.

My partner and I were looking for some decent seafood and we didn't want to hazard the beachfront restaurants with their crowds and high prices. Vida Agave had great reviews so we made our way over to its location across from the federal courthouse. We greatly enjoyed the drinks and food as everything was made with care and fresh ingredients. The ceviche was decent but my favorite was the mahi mahi tacos done lettuce wrap style. The protein portions were huge in all of our entrees. Service was very attentive and made you feel right at home. There was a lot of energy in the dining room but the music and noise was kept at a reasonable level so we could enjoy our meal. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommended.

Boom and Just like That Vida Agave won me over on my 4th visit. The service was phenomenal! I mean, very lively, friendly, attentive but most of all proactive and mindful. But let me give the Chicken Enchiladas with chipolte sauce a big Star. My friend ordered the chicken enchiladas and was so happy with them that he told me i have to taste them. Wow, I have never had a sauce that made my eyes and tastes buds open up like that (Chicken enchiladas is something I never order). Get it, you will not be disappointed. My other friend is not vegan or vegatarian but they ordered the Vegan Burrito with Charro beans. But the kitchen recognize that the charro beans are not vegan or vegetarian because it has bacon it and the staff ran out to inquire if he wanted to do the refried beans instead. Talk about good communication! Food was not cold (Thank you for that). He loved the vegan burrito. We had a wonderful time and my friends really enjoyed visiting here. Next time they are in town, it is a must for us to come hear for drinks and good food! Cute little restaurant off of the beaten path in downtown. From the time we arrived we experienced excellent service and fabulous drinks (my bf had a pineapple jalapeño margarita So yummy.) We ordered street tacos, quesadillas with beef, and regular chicken quesadillas. Food was so good and the waiter was so attentive and kind. Atmosphere was chic and well decorated. We visited Vida with 8 people, 4 kids, and 4 adults. The menu was perfect for everyone and had a little bit of everything for a wide arrangement of diets and picky eaters. Their chefs definitely changed. I used to go here a year ago with my boyfriend on date nights usually I order birria tacos they were my favorite so much flavor and so much love... this year we went recently I ordered my birria tacos they were horrible they tasted like plain tacos with meat with barbecue sauce... the consomé didn't have no flavor just dark water... I was so disappointed:( this was one of my fav spots in Galveston now I don't think so. read more

We came during rush hour so the food took 20 minutes but I personally felt it was worth it! I got the blackened Salmon Tacos with rice and beans and it was delicioussss. The beans were hot and flavorful, the rice was good, and the tacos were the perfect combination between the salmon, lemon aioli, pineapple salsa, and Pico de Gallo. Stopped in tonight to pick up food and ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi tacos. The place looked great and staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, brought the tacos home and opened it up and it smelled very fishy. Fish, if fresh, isn't supposed to smell this fishy, and especially not Mahi mahi. Ended up having to toss them as the it was definitely past its prime. Very disappointing given that we're in Galveston and had read good reviews about this place. read more

The overall experience is great. It's a hip and upscale taco bar/restaurant. They have great cocktail recipes around 10-12 dollars and the tacos are about 4.5 to 5.5 dollars. Food was amazing as soon as you go in you can smell the fresh food being cooked and it smells great drinks are good they have a variety of margaritas that are really good. Food was amazing. My mom order the flautas plate. I ordered the Thai chili chicken tacos and the Mexican street corn. We ordered the watermelon tajin cocktail and pineapple jalapeño margarita, drinks was stellar. We also ordered the churros to go. Service was ok, they were setting up for a party so after getting our food the waitress took a while to get back with us. The restaurant itself is has plenty of tables to sit at, along with a bar area. There is also a lounge area with picture ready backgrounds. If I ever visit Galveston again I will be stopping here. read more

The Kumquat Tot is hands down my favorite. Kumquat, gin, mint, and a few other choice ingredients make this one of the most unique and refreshing cocktails I've ever had. Drinks are served in classic tiki glassware. I dig the vibe here real hard. It's rad. Decor is thatched walls, huts, voodoo, fire, and skulls. Mood lighting enhances the overall theme. The bartenders and servers are super cool. Visiting once just wasn't enough. In the words of The Terminator, "I'll Be Back".

She was assisting wait staff by delivering food and clearing tables but did so in a rushed and disrespectful manner. Our plates were basically yanked from our hands, and I caught the silverware on my plate that fell off when she grabbed it. She did not apologize and appeared unhappy. This property is a remodeled motel that has been transformed into a really charming boutique hotel. They did an incredible job with the design and atmosphere. It feels trendy, relaxed, and unlike anywhere else in Galveston in my opinion. We arrived Friday night and had an amazing dinner at The Fancy. On Saturday, we spent the entire day at the pool enjoying drinks and appetizers, and on Sunday morning we grabbed breakfast tacos at the bar before heading back to Houston. From the moment we arrived, we received such a warm welcome from the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Any questions we had or small issues that came up were answered and resolved right away which made the whole experience feel effortless! The service throughout our stay was great and the food and drinks were just as good. One thing we couldn't stop talking about was how comfortable the pillows were. We slept amazinggggg! We were in bed pretty early each night but we were woken up both nights by noise from neighboring rooms. It sounded like people coming in late and moving around. You can definitely hear doors opening and closing, cabinets shutting, and general hallway noise, etc. It wasn't a huge deal for me since I can usually fall back asleep easily but it's something worth mentioning for lighter sleepers. We stayed in a double queen balcony room which was spotless and had plenty of space for both of us. The balcony itself was a little awkward because it overlooks the pool area and since its a small hotel it felt like you were practically hanging out with everyone at the pool when you stepped outside. Next time I probably wouldn't pay extra for the balcony. The pool was clean, the atmosphere was great, and they played fun music all day. The only downside was drink service. Most of the time we had to go inside to order drinks ourselves. Someone did come take our order poolside once but it wasn't consistent. There was live music on the rooftop both Friday and Saturday night which was such a nice touch, especially around sunset. Parking was a little tricky because the hotel was busy when we arrived for the live music but we got lucky with a spot close by. The guy who checked us in let me know he would go out there and help me find a spot if I was not able to find one so although we didnt end up needing him, it was cool of him to offer. Overall, this hotel is so hip, cute, and unique. It honestly feels like you're not even in Texas. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and stylish place to stay in Galveston.

The rooms close to the seawall have paper thin walls and it can be loud at night if you care about that 2. The price of this hotel is expensive overall, it was higher than the St Luis for July 4, with that being said it wasn't worth the price overnight but def worth the visit for the rooftop band, drinks and food, employees and service! 8. The room at night is really hot- the ac is smaller and the window to the balcony will make the room hot - keep the curtains closed all day 9. The fish dip, "ceviche" dish were delicious! Get those to snack on! 10. We used the beach chairs on the beach from Lucine, no full bar, or food but hopefully soon. Also, it's a lot of greenery that needs to be cleaned up.. not fun to sit in grass on the beach.. Overall nice place, but I would not stay again over night at the price point I paid. I would def come back to eat/drink/listen to a band on the rooftop. I am giving the hotel 4 stars due to the employees and food. If I took Those options out- I would have given it a 3 stars review for the price point I paid.

I visited Vida Agave again during another work trip, and if I could give ten stars, I absolutely would. The food here is consistently excellent, and the Birria tacos have become a personal favorite of mine--they're flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced. 5 Stars We had an outstanding experience at Vida Agave during their happy hour (3-7 PM). The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, and the service was spot on from start to finish. We started with their complimentary chips, which were fresh and crispy--perfect with the delicious chicharrón paired with queso dip and guacamole we ordered. The queso was creamy and flavorful, and the guacamole was fresh and well-seasoned. For entrees, we tried the Poblano Shrimp and the Vida Agave Appetizer Plate. Both were absolutely excellent!
