I've been a Video Only customer since the late 90's and always end up buying my TVs and stereo receivers from them. I like the VO experience because they always work with me on price - haggling for electronics can be fun. Sure, a lot of their salespeople are used car salesman types. I ignore those guys and try to work with somebody who doesn't fit that profile or reeks of cigarettes. I had been researching a new TV for the past 3 weeks and had my choice narrowed down to a mid-range Samsung Q7D 75" QLED. I knew the going prices for Black Friday deals and thought I was gonna get it from Costco. I decided to stop by Video Only yesterday to make sure I had all my bases covered. Not only were their prices lower, I found they carried the higher-level model (Q8D) for the same price I was willing to pay for the Q7D. I wasn't even considering this model because it was out of the range I was willing to spend. Then the salesman David asks me if I want it delivered. I asked how much that would cost. He says it wouldn't cost me a thing. To top that off, they throw in the same 5-year warranty Costco offers for their Samsung TVs. He even gave me a set of bolts needed for my wall-mount installation. Did the deal, set up the delivery date, and was out of there in less than 30 minutes. My advice: do your research, know what models you want and what you're going to pay, then go to this place. read more

I will be writing reviews about my experience on FaceBook, twitter, local news, file a complaint with the Better business bureau and talk about it on Microsoft's internal chat board. the salesmen you have act like a bunch of clowns and the store manager is the worst. They were liars, they were rude, threatening and aggressive and need to be trained in customer service which by the way is what you APPARENTLY strive to do, it's the first sentence on your About page on the website. Shame on you for scamming customers. All you guys are worried about is dealing with an open box. Whether the customer is happy or not is of no consequence to you jerks! I recently made a impulse buy on a very nice soundbar by sharp. I got it at a pawn shop still in the box and got it for over half off. I thought I had SCORED big. well when I got it home to hook it up to my 60' vizio, my third one so far, I plugged in the hdmi cord just like the instructions said to do, and nothing. I was so frustrated, nothing worked, changing the cords to the old school red,yellow and white did not work either. So one day I drove to video only in Lynnwood. I went in and was excited to see walls of tvs, walls of soundbars. I was so excited I went up to the shiny new tv like a kid in a candy store. Ryan walks up and introduces himself, he makes small talk about the seahawks and then asks if im interested in this tv, I respond that I am but really I have a problem at home with a new soundbar that wont work. After listening to me for a few minutes, he said to try this 14.99 optical cord. instead of pushing a new soundbar on me right away he explained that my tv needed an addl cord than the soundbar came with. I have been to many stores and usually the new technique is to push new equipment on someone and not help them fix the problem they initially came in for. Ryan was so friendly,laid back and his professional attitude impressed me. I just set up my tv and the sound is AMAZING!! We bought a TV from this Video Only back in November, before Black Friday. Our salesman was very helpful and understanding of what we were looking for in a TV. We ended up with a beautiful Samsung LED. Sadly, they didn't have the TV in stock at time of purchase, so we had to wait a week for it to come into the warehouse, then to be delivered. Video Only does need to work on their delivery times as they deliver weekdays from 10am - 5pm, and I know a good majority of the employed work those hours. So we had to wait until a weekend for it to be delivered. The week of when the TV was supposed to come in, no one had reached out to us to schedule a delivery time. I took it upon myself to call in only to find out that the Samsung delivery to the store had been delayed a week. I was rather upset that it had been delayed and no one had told me until I called. I spoke with the manager on shift and he was able to pull some strings with another location as they had my exact TV on hold to be delivered next month (not sure why they couldn't do this in the first place). We finally got our TV delivered (free, which was a nice touch). Sadly, you get what you pay for here. They setup and delivery was very lacking in the setup portion. I received my call confirming my time frame and I made sure to have the area cleaned and my old TV was out of the way. Once the two delivery men showed up, only one of the guys was holding my $2,000+ TV over his shoulder walking up my staircase, I was not happy to see this. Once they were in my home, the other delivery man had me sign the papers that I received my TV, and then showed me how to open the box. That was it. That was my "Setup" help. Fortunately, I am able to setup a TV on my own. After all was said and done, a few days later it was brought to my attention that the exact same TV was on sale at Best Buy, which was right across the street. I called up Video Only and was told that if I bring in my receipt, they will honor the new sale price. I did exactly that. It makes sense that a store like this will not have hundreds of dollars in the registers, so I was told I would have to wait a month to get my money back from headquarters. A little less than a month later, I got my money in a check from Video Only. After reading all of the other reviews, I was very skeptical of going with Video Only, but it turned out to be a very nice experience as long as you are willing to wait for results. So glad I stopped by Video Only before purchasing an new TV/Entertainment center. I did about 12 hours of research on TVs first and was all set to purchase a TV at Costco. I popped into Video Only to convince myself I had the best price already. They had a bigger selection of TVs in my price range ($1500) that were easier to compare and see the differences. Ryan was very knowledgeable and didn't try to oversell me. He showed me Consumer Reports ratings as well as pricing from Best Buy and Amazon. I left with a steal of a deal on a TV and 10% off a sound bar and wall mount. They threw in a 2nd year warranty for the TV and delivered and set it up the next day. I'm a careful shopper, who takes time to look around for deals. I'm not going to camp out overnight for a BlueRay player or anything, but I like a good deal. Video Only really does have consistently competitive deals at their stores. So, when I went in there, knowing about what I wanted to spend, and about the size TV I wanted - I was more than happy with the customer service. My husband and I came here on Labor Day to buy a new TV and sound bar. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted and had shopped around a bit- we decided to come here at the recommendation of a friend. We couldn't have been happier- we bought a TV, sound bar and wall mount kit. The salesperson who worked with us, Charles, gave us a package deal that saved us a few hundred dollars on the already lowest prices we saw (we looked at Best Buy and other places online before coming in). He also was extremely thorough in explaining the warranty, the return policy and cautioning us to save all packaging so that we can bring it back if needed. I never felt pressured or like anyone was trying to sell me something. I genuinely felt like they were committed to us purchasing what we needed and being nothing less than 100% satisfied with our choice! I bought a tv from here a few weeks ago and until recently I enjoyed the experience. I went to video only because I thought the small store could be trusted over best buy or other competitors but I was wrong. I am good with electronics but far from an expert on tv's and cable so I wanted to trust what the sales man was telling me. I asked specifically what I would gain by upgrading to a 4k UHD tv given that I only have a regular Comcast subscription with few extras. The salesman told me multiple times that Comcast broadcasts all HD channels in 4k and that the difference was amazing. So I spent an additional $300 on a 4K UHD TV which turns out performs as good as my last tv given my current set up. It turns out Comcast broadcasts no channels in 4k and I would have been better with my old TV. I feel like I clearly explained my set up and that my inexperience with broadcast tv signals was taken advantage of in order to get me up spend an additional $300, out of $700 total. I will not shop here again. read more

A few days before I had called their store inquiring about TVs and I spoke with Jeff aka 'Bald Jeff'. He was extremely knowledgable, gave me a run down on the difference between the TVs that I was interested in. When we finally visited the store, Jeff was very helpful, polite, and professional. I have purchased all my TV's from Video Only for at least the last ten years. They are not only very price competitive but render exceptional service each and every time. Charles the Sales Manager sold me a fabulous 55" Samsung last week. It was such a pleasant experience that I had to share. I bought on Friday and it was delivered on Saturday. I first entered the place getting a feeling that a used car salesman would be approaching me. Once getting over that feeling, I proceeded to tell him what I'm looking for, a LG or Samsung 65" TV. He took me to the LG model I wanted to look at. I asked him to demonstrate the passive 3D of the TV and he pulled out the glasses for all of us in the group. I asked about the Samsung.and he took me there. We discussed about active vs passive 3D and I wanted to demonstration of the active 3D of the Samsung. He didn't have a pair of glasses available, but he eventually went to the back and pulled a new box out for me to try. I didn't expect him to do that, but it was great that he did. Now about prices.. the LG blew away BestBuy's prices out of the water, being $400 cheaper than the sales price. Samsung was the same price, but he was trying to offer giving extra pairs of glasses and a BluRay player as a package deal. Though the Samsung was definitely had better contrast than the LG, I ended up buying the LG TV because it was so cheap and it was in stock. The Samsung I would have to wait for a back order which I really did not want to do considering the reviews I've heard about getting back orders filled... Would I stop here again to shop for a TV? Yes I would. Only side note. The interior of the place looks pretty sad.. Section that carried cameras and phones looked gutted. Worst store there is, don't buy your tv here. Sure they have some good prices but they don't respect the warranty. They just fool you, one of the sales person said "I don't care if it's scratched, you should of check it before taking it home. If you would of check it, I could of sold it to another dumb person that forget to check it before taking it home" since when do we need to open the boxes to check for scratches on a tv? You would of thought that because it's box all seal up, the screen would be perfect but I guess I was wrong... so if you want to expend your money on a store that will blame you for anything and not respect the warranty. I bought a netflix compatible blue Ray dvd player. After quite sometime trying to get it to work with netflix we findout that it isn't netflix compatible yet and it may be a couple months before it is. Panasonic had to get there website done or something like that. I return it and they don't just run the credit for me they take an impression of my card and have to send it to corporate and then it will take a couple weeks. Any credit card machine can be set up to run a credit. they just want to hold onto my money. The staff was polite and professional but there is no way I will do business with them again. read more

I bought a 50 inch TV there and they told me I have a 60 day price match. I found they had put the TV on Sale for $200 cheaper about 3 weeks later. I called and asked and I had the guy write down the 60 policy on my receipt. When I went in, the manager told me he was not going to price match because the deal was too good. I bought a television there in December of 2011. It comes with a 1 year warranty.I am over 50 and have bought many televisions in my lifetime and have never had one fail in a year so i declined the extended warranty. exactly 13 months after buying the television it will no longer turn on and get past the JVC welcome screen. I guess it's true, you get what you pay for and along with the cheap prices that you get at Video only they only sell junk there. So just consider, if you buy there chance are you will only be able to use your electronics for a year before they fail. I will never buy anything from Video Only ever again!!!!!! By far the best customer service I've experienced in a very long time! I went into the store to look at the new Panasonic VT series plasmas in person and see what all the rave was about. While there Charles came to me an my wife to offer us assistance. We looked at the VT and the ST and then I was looking at the Samsungs that where right net to them. Charles was extremely helpful and was very patient as I wanted to adjust all of the setting look at them in 3D and play with all of the apps. He never tried to steer our opinion and just gave us the facts. I went in ready to spend over 2 grand on a TV and ended up spending almost half that on a TV that performs just as good and has the same amount of features. Charles was helpful in getting things setup and ready to go for us and went far beyond the normal in customer service. Charles has made me a Video Only customer for life. I can't say enough about how good this service was and I never write reviews, but after the service that I received from Charles I felt it to be unfair if I didn't. 6 weeks before christmas we were shopping for the camera my son wanted ,,,,,,,,,,, we dont have alot of money but we were going to splurge and get him this one gift he wanted. We purchased the camera, which was not in stock, and we were told it would be there in a week. needless to say this store sell products they do not own! we waited until december 23rd, and were told that it was going to be another 4 weeks. I bought a TV for my grandson and had to return it 2 days later. I had paid cash for the TV and when I took it back to the store I was informed they don't refund cash I have to wait for a check from corporate! I said where is that posted for the consumer, they said they don't have to post it I said why do you not tell customers when they pay out a large sum of cash of this, they said I you ask we will tell you. The receipt says if you are not happy bring it back, nothing about holding your cash hostage until corporate gets around to sending a check...... BUYER BE WARE!!!!!! We were shopping for a new TV and DVD player, and went to Video Only Lynnwood, WA where we were sold on a nice LG tv and blue ray player for what we thought was a great price. We bought the extra warranty coverage for the package just in case since this was alot of money for us. Two months later, and only a handful of movies watched, the DVD player completely burned up. No power, and we have a disc stuck inside. Video Only's response is "their hands are tied", they cannot help us because we did not keep the original box and original receipt. Turns out the warranty is only on the TV, not the dvd player as we were told. They said they absolutely will not do anything to help us, we have to contact LG, but we have to have the receipt in hand. my $24.99 dvd player from Walmart has worked better and longer than this $200.00+ player from Video Only. Stick to Costco for your electronic purchases people!!! read more

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. Don't shop here, or as their slogan says, "YOU'LL BE SORRY". If you want the short review, just realize this store has shady salesman, employs the classic "bait and switch" technique, and all around aren't to be trusted. Spend an extra few bucks elsewhere to avoid dealing with the runaround here. To give you an idea about how bad this place is, let me tell you about my last 2 experiences in this store. A few days before Christmas this last year, I came in looking for a Blu-ray player for my boyfriend. Yes, the salesman was helpful. He spent about 20 minutes answering my questions and after I had (with his help) finally narrowed it down to the model I wanted, he went into the back to get the one I wanted. After about ten minutes he reappeared and told me not only do they not have that model in stock, they were out of all models except the least expensive model on the shelf, and another model which was almost one hundred dollars higher than my price range, the 2nd most expensive they had on display. This was extremely frustrating not only because he had to have known the inventory situation prior to speaking with me (considering the place was packed and there were at least 3 other people browsing the same selection I was) but also, I got the impression he was lying to me because the model I had wanted to buy had a tag on it saying "floor model available". By the time this had all happened I was so annoyed with the situation I went across the street to Best Buy to buy the exact Blu-ray player I had chosen. - Please understand, I was not upset that they had low stock (this is totally understandable being so close to the holidays) but that I felt I got the runaround from the salesman, and that he should have told me from the get go about what they had available for purchase. My second encounter is much much worse. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were out tv shopping, and after looking at a few places headed here to price compare. Again, very kind and knowledgeable salespeople at this point. We spent about an hour here yesterday afternoon, and despite the salesman's relentless pitch to buy this 46" tv he thought would be "just right" we knew what we had come for and wouldn't have it. We headed home to think it over, and after deciding on a 52" LCD we called the store to tell them we were on our way in to purchase said tv and even asked for the dimensions of the box it was in to make sure it would fit in the car. We show up, and what do you know, salesman goes into the back and comes out letting us know that the particular model WE TOLD THEM we were coming to get is in fact, backordered for an indefinite time, and tried to sell us a more expensive tv in its place. We stuck to our original choice, got on the "wait list" for the particular model we wanted, and oddly enough, rather than calling us when it was in, we had to pay upfront. Thought it a little weird, but whatever. Still wasn't happy about the classic bait and swtich, but happy we had settled on the right tv. Fast forward to today, out and about running unrelated errands and happen to be in a store that has the same model same price in stock currently. Called Video Only to ask what it would take to cancel our order. I can't speak for the customer service at this point, because it wasn't me who made the call, but they told us if we came in and signed the necessary paperwork they would refund the money. After purchasing same tv at new store, headed over to Video Only to cancel order of the other. We dealt with the manager and his additude and customer service had done a complete 180 from yesterday. He was extremely short and rude to us, and told me he wouldn't be able to refund the card we purchased with for 2 weeks, despite me calling my credit card company before arriving and them telling me they could void the charge almost immediatley with just a call from Video Only. Guess what, they wouldn't do that for me. I realize this is a long review, but I can't convey enough how much to avoid this place. UPDATE: I just wanted to add that despite filling out the required paperwork to get my money refunded, Video only never did come through with it. I had to file a dispute claim with my CC company, who finally fought for the money back on my behalf. Stay away from this establishment. Any money you might save isn't worth your trouble. read more

There is a reason why so many people hate this company. For heavens sake there are 85 separate blogs (ex: http://videoonlysucks.blogspot.com/ ) dedicated to how horrible Video Only's business practices are when it comes to returns. Be aware that their 30 day return policy will be pitched by the salesman as being if for any reason you are unhappy keep all the original packaging and return the item for a full cash refund. If you hear the salesman say this ask him to write it on the receipt and sign his name or else you will be in for one heck of a ride when you go to return the item and at the end of the day a $1200 store credit to a store that only sells tvs. read more

I purchased a 3D 4K Samsung tv and they indicated it was backordered and would be available in a week. They provided a pric that was $300 better than Best Buy. After waiting 8 days, they called to say the order would not be filled and blamed Samsung. They asked if I wanted the same tv used for $100 less. I declined and requested a refund. They indicated it would take 2 weeks for a refund, the paperwork indicates up to 4 weeks. I will never purchase anything else from video only. But you have been forewarned - if you have any problems at all, don't even think about returning it because that is just not going to happen. The review is mainly for store policy more than the salespeople who were generally friendly and helpful. If they have the item you want in stock-the experience would have been better. Went to video only knowing exactly what I wanted. The salesperson was very helpful and got acceptance for the online price I quoted him. I purchased the tv even though it was not in stock and was told it should arrive in 2 weeks. About one month later, no tv and there were no ETAs from the head office. I canceled my order and bought the tv at Best Buy and picked it up the very next day. The refund policy is silly. They had no qualms charging my card the day I pre-bought the tv but cannot credit my card the same day. I got contradicting info on when I was going to get the refund-initially was told it would take 7-10 business days that this was guaranteed since it was store policy. 10 business days later, still no refund. When I called and spoke to another salesperson -he told me that the salesman was incorrect-that it took 15 business days not 7-10 business days. I can understand if I had returned an actual tv but to wait 15 business days for a phantom tv does not make sense. It wasn't even the case that the item was on its way. When I followed up on credit status recently, I was told that the charge did get placed back on my card four days ago. Huh? There is no credit showing back on my card. I have gotten credits before from other companies-this is the longest and the most hassle I've gotten from a company. I do not recommend buying from them if the item is not in stock and hold your breath on getting back your money in a timely manner. read more

After spending a long time researching everything I could find online about flat screen tv and sound system combinations, I finally started live research. Video Only Lynnwood was my first stop. "Bald Jeff" worked with us initially and couldn't have been better. He was extremely knowledgeable about the products, had rock solid advice about the many different options and variables. He was artful in establishing a positive customer relationship with me. I felt utterly confident that I was being respected and that I would be well taken care of. The fact that I had done a considerable amount of research before coming in made the experience even better. Jeff's approach was perfectly matched for the amount of knowledge that I came in with and he taught me quite a bit more. Within about 20 minutes, I pretty much knew exactly which tv and sound system I wanted to buy. I wanted to do some additional shopping since VOL was my first stop and Best Buy was directly across the street. Jeff encouraged me to shop and promised that he would be ready to work with me Best Buy had the same products for similar list prices as VOL. The salesman there was super nice, knew his products, and seemed eager to please, but wasn't as good as Jeff when it came to creating the sense of customer care. None of the other stores were even close to these two experiences. After completing my live research and going to back to some confirmation online regarding new information, I went back to VOL. It was Jeff's day off, so the Store Manager, Dave, worked with me. He picked up right were Jeff left off and provided absolutely superior customer service. He worked with me on dialing in the exact components that I wanted, worked with me on price, and credit terms. In short, Dave helped me come in on budget with a high quality system.
