We are traveling and decided to stop to support a local business that we saw was opened till 8 according to Google. We were approached by who I assume is the owner before 2:30 to tell us we need to put our order in now because they close at 3. Poor service. They were too busy closing the store (sweeping under our feet, yelling across the restaurant to eachother, flipping chairs onto tables) around us to provide anything but our Luke warm food order and drinks. Had to approach the counter for condiments, refills, and to-go boxes. If you're driving through, you can find better food with better service at most other places! read more

Wonderful, wonderful restaurant just on the outskirts of Vienna and close enough to the highway for folks to stop while on the road. For at least a generation, this used to be Dolly's. The menu is huge and varied with a few specials. They serve everything--diner-style entrees, sandwiches, breakfast, pizza and things you wouldn't expect a down-home place like this to have. The Chicken Marsala looked great but I opted for a turkey melt. We started off with potato skins--about eight or so half-potatoes cut and served with a big tasty dollop of cheese and bacon bits. Im kinda surprised there haven't been any listings about this place! On our road trip we've been stopping in little towns looking for good down home cooking. Vienna Diner was in the top two for me... Number one for the SO. You're greeted by the owner and any staff nearby right when you walk in. The menu options are practically limitless. Which can be a good and bad thing. I went with the Gyro. It was pretty darn good! The spices in the meat were perfect! The SO had chicken fried steak, hash browns, biscuit and eggs... He repeatedly said "this was phenomenal"... Oh and we had pie... Because why not... I had pecan pie.... And it was AMAZING! The chocolate pie was okay. My only complaint.... I wish there was a little more lettuce than dressing for my salad... But the lettuce and tomato were very fresh and we actually wondered if their ranch was made in house. read more

One should depend on Yelp to direct to good food and nice places. Once again we were not disappointed. This is clearly a place where the locals hang - even the people that wear badges. Except for the little patch of syrup on the table, the place was very clean, including the washrooms. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The coffee kept coming. The food was great. Wonderful find on our trip. Had the sirloin steak with grilled mushrooms and onions. Wow. Since we are traveling could not take the remaining. Portions are huge. Everything tasted like home. Normally I pass on dessert, but knowing they were locally made I could not resist. Had the chocolate meringue. Crust was flaky and a filling to dienfor. We were in Vienna for the Tunnell Hill 100. The nice lady in the depot in the middle of the night told us we should eat at the Vienna diner. The food was perfect and amazing. I had scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and bacon. It was perfect. It was all we ever wanted. All we ever needed. You don't really just find yourself in Vienna, but just in case you do, eat here. This was an accidental stop for us enroute to MO but a hugely pleasant surprise. Get off the exit, pass the usual fast food and continue for a quarter mile for a fast, clean and scrumptious meal. My bacon cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and served with two hearty sides. My fiancee, a vegetarian, enjoyed a stir fry that was one of the best she tasted. One of our go to spots en route from Illinois back home to Nashville. The kindest people in the world there. Food is so great and is very home cooked. We love stopping here bc they treat us like family. I love their lasagna and the BLT w crinkled French fries is good. I will have to say the menu is a bit on the lengthy side, BUT kudos to this little restaurant. Why because there is still food made with love here. I am impressed with the appearance of the dining area, the waitress we had, and above all the food was flavorful. I ordered shrimp alfredo and I am hesitant to order alfredo after the awful experience from other restaurants. We also got a cup of the stuffed pepper soup and I was very pleased with it. I did not care about the food at this place. The hamburger that I got did not taste good and my mom's BLT was decent. However the waitress was very nice considering we had 14 people in our group. The food is ok and the waitresses are always friendly but seriously who offers all you can eat fish and then gives you one small container of tartar sauce for 3 pieces of fish? Then charges you .79 for every extra tartar sauce that you ask for. No other restaurant has ever done this to me. Cheap . They didn't even warn me beforehand. Like the others - it was aYelp find and we weren't disappointed! It's the quintessential small town country diner. It appears to be a local favorite as the parking lot was full when we arrived, just 20 minutes after it opened for the morning. Lots of traditional breakfast choices. My sausage gravy and biscuits was 'stick ti the ribs' fantastic. Superb homemade biscuits that soaked up the smooth and tasty gravy. My spouse had scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and all were excellently prepared. And it all arrived within minutes. We'll make sure to stop again when we travel through the area. read more

I don't often write reviews, but I have to comment on this restaurant. My husband and I stopped for brunch. The reviews were very good so we had high expectations of a decent meal. We both ordered the meat lovers omelette. When the meal came, we were totally surprised. And we were angry with ourselves that we did not send them back. The "omelettes" were nothing more than over cooked, bordering on burnt, dried out scrambled eggs with about an ounce of diced ham mixed in...and no cheese! I asked for the added mushrooms for an additional 79 cents and found 3 small slices. As I have said, we are angry with ourselves for not sending the "food???" back to the cook...definitely not chef. We were in a hurry and very hungry. Perhaps the pancakes are good, hence the good reviews. However, DON'T order the omelettes. The waitresses were very nice and did their jobs well. read more
