I got the tofu spring roll, vegetarian egg roll for my son and my husband got the firecracker shrimp appetizer. I got the sweet and sour tofu entrée, it was good, but I really like the sweet sauce. We didn't have pho this time, but I've had it at another Vietvana location before and it was quite good. This time, we had the meatball banh mi and the sizzling steak & eggs, both were tasty. The place is clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint is that the server was a bit too nosy and asked a lot of personal questions. After finding out I'm also Vietnamese, he became very chatty and continued to ask questions throughout our visit when seating us, serving the food, and even as we were leaving. Came for some take out for me and the wifey and got myself dark chicken pho with mixed veggies in spicy chicken broth and Vietnamese wings. The wings were good. Not superb. Could have used more flavor but I did enjoy them. The pho was also good, I also enjoyed the pho but unless you like a lot of heat, don't get the spicy. It's essentially chili flakes and chili oil in the broth and its heat without extra flavor. It was really hot and it didn't add anything. Absent the burning stomach though, the pho was very good. Not sure if the staff is just inexperienced or what but last time I dined in, I pointed to what I wanted and verbalized it and they sent out the wrong thing. Not a big deal. We've eaten here before and the food is fine, but I will not be returning because of a serious boundary violation involving my child. This past weekend while having lunch here, a male server repeatedly approached my 3-year-old son saying "hello boy" and then kissed him on the neck.. twice!! My son looked visibly uncomfortable. I had to physically swat this guy away when he reached toward my child again. They offer lots of options, but if you want something besides pho, they have it. The lime marinated rare beef had no brightness to it and the beef was far from rare and was rather chewy. During the last year, I ate here about once every other month, because it is close to my house and I like supporting small businesses. It has always been mid particularly because the experience is different every time. The customer service, quality of the food and ingredients, condiment portions, utensils, and condition of the restroom varies each time. Yesterday was the last straw. One of the things that I love about Vietnamese food is the care and pride many restaurants take with food prep. All that I wanted was fresh and crisp bean sprouts with my pho. But not in the context of nearly an empty restaurant with what looks like a fully staffed kitchen. I understand that there might be online orders ahead, but why be so negligent to the customers who are waiting in-person in the restaurant. When asked to check the status of the order, staff acted as if it was an encroachment on them-- even though the hostess was just on her phone. I concur with many of the reviews left already: service is very indifferent to their customers. Lastly, the sandwiches are bone dry. Whatever protein you order will come minimally. Had a terrible first (and last) experience here. We walked in and almost walked right out- there was barely any AC and it was so hot I actually started sweating. Also it stunk like rotted meat and the floor was covered in grease- like to the point I had to hold the wall to walk to the bathroom so I didn't slip. I want to also note that when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands the toilet was covered in poop on the inside like it had not been cleaned in a very long time, so disgusting.  My husband still wanted to stay for some reason so we ordered a Bahn MI and shrimp spring rolls.  The sandwich was cold and the spring rolls were room temperature (should have been ice cold, that is a clear health hazard). The rolls also looked like they were made a week ago, the rice paper was dry and pulling away from the shrimp which only happens when it's not fresh. See my pic. The waiter didn't come back to the table to check on us for like 20 mins and when one of them did, I finally sent back the rolls. I got no apology or offer for something else. I was a regular until last week Food is good, but please don't do takeout. They mess up your order all the time. I asked for a combination rice meal with extra shrimp because they're very very stingy with the shrimp, only two pieces they give you. It comes with a salad, which they always put with the hot food, which doesn't make sense. I always ask them to put the salad to the side in a separate container because I don't eat it till later. They always say OK , before I leave then I get home. The salad is stuck with the rice. The salad is useless afterthat because it's soggy. I called back to tell a manager. He says he will give me $50 off my meal the next time I come. since I had a doctors appointment, I went the next week cause I was right there the manager that told me that he will give me the food for $50 off was not there. I let the manager know but was told he told me his name was Tim. He wasn't there the manager that was there says oh I cannot give you $50 off. I can only give you 10. I told him I come here all the time. Take out regularly. I told him that this is unacceptable. I'm tired of it. I will just go home and make my own food. So beware if you do take out please look in your bag. Look over all your food cause they make mistakes like crazy. I will not be returning to this place because of the managers attitude. I spent $61. I should've complained that I needed my whole 61 back but I was cool and took the $50 and they still when I came back they tried to lowball me and offered me $10 I said never mind. I added chili sauce for a kick along with jalapenos. They have changed their noodles to a thicker noodle. I prefer the thin noodle. Would definitely agree with some of the comments about the wait staff being inconsistent, but there is always a friendly woman at the front of the house who has been there for awhile. She's pretty great. I go to this restaurant at least once a week with my 7 year old son. The staff has always been super kind, and welcoming of kid guests.
