We have been getting smog checks here for years. Never made an appointment but I would choose a smart time to show up. Longest wait was 45 minutes but usually a half hour. Very professional. I came across this place because I was originally going to go to the tire shop next door because one of my tires were low in air. When I arrived (at around 6:30), the tire shop was closed but I came across Ernesto. Despite being closed for the day, Ernesto took the time to help me throughly inspect my tire and pumped air into it even though he had other jobs at hand. They are located behind Subway and across the street from Home Depot. We have been using Viking Automotive for more than 15 years for our personal cars and our business trucks. This is a small garage that had been in business here in the Valley for many years. They have always been honest and explained exactly what was needed. I have gone in there for their opinion when a vehicle was under warranty and it had to go to the dealership. They are always helpful and honest. Our boys are grown and they take their trucks for service and repairs also. Yes, I highly recommend this garage. I have been going to the same mechanic in LA for years now, and I was very reluctant to try a new place (but I had put my brake change off for too long, and it had become a bit of an emergency..) I called in the morning and spoke to Mike. He gave me an estimate for cost and amount of time it would take. The brakes were changed quickly, and I have no problems with them, and it was actually LESS than the estimate he had given me! (When does that happen?!?!) I know nothing about cars, and I get very nervous going to new places as a result. If you have a transmission issue, go elsewhere. We had a seal that went out in our transmission and 35 days later the transmission fluid dumped all out again when I got the truck after being told it was ready, I get home and there is a hole on the bottom side of my tranny next to the bell housing. Still waiting to get an explanation on that. The repair order had no description of what was done, no parts breakdown, and no phone call after they started to work on it to let me know roughly how much it was going to cost me. All around, a bad situation which is still ongoing. I expected way better than this from Viking. read more

Went here for front brakes and an oil change. Quoted me 165 to start had another place say they would do it for 150 they matched it. Convenient because it was right next to my work and they had good reviews. It is under new ownership and the people seem nice. Didn't try to upsell me anything and they said the rotors were good. I hope they are and I will update if there is anything good or bad about the work. read more

This was my first time using Viking Automotive. It was an absolutely amazing experience. I'd driven down to Palm Springs from Lynnwood, Wa on one of their HOTTEST DAY (120 degrees!) without A/C in the car. I had two children with me and very little money for repairs. I didn't know what to do. I'd gone to several other places before literally stumbling upon this place. Instantly I was told they'd help me. Not only did they take their time to diagnose my problem, (for free) but they were able to find the issue and fix it quickly. I was given one heck of a deal for the A/C repair and recharge. Turns out that my AC was too full of Freon and also needed a new relay switch, which they were able to fix super quickly. They kept myself and my children entertained while they fixed it and treated us like we were family. They were absolutely AMAZING! Thank you Mike and Martin! I am so thrilled to have met you! Our trip around Palm Springs and back home to Lynnwood, Washington was MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE with COLD A/C! These guys are the real deal. HONEST, RELIABLE, AFFORDALE and just plain good guys. I was told it would cost me much more at other places and told it was an electrical issue. Mike found the problem and I literally paid 1/10th of what the other places around town wanted to charge me. Luckily, I was able to get on the road after a visit from AAA. Called Mike to let him know - said to give him a call if same thing happens and he would check it out. Unreliable quality of service,had to go back multiple times in triple digit heat weather for AC maintenance; the time I went back was charged for a part that they broke ,was told to wait 25mins for process to be completed but that turned into 90mins. read more

I will never go to vikin automotive again. First, they over charged me for an oil changed and had to wait there 4 hours until it was finished. During this time the female owner was completely rude and did not have any profesional standards. She also left me alone in the office and went somewhere, I am not sure just drove off, her worker tried to approach me and get my number. Like pretty much everyone else in the civilized world I dread having to take my truck to a mechanic. It's usually expensive (or at least more than you think it's going to be). I don't know enough about mechanics to know whether I am getting screwed. And I have not had to go to one often enough to have developed a trusting relationship with any one mechanic in particular (thank you Ford). So when it was time to have my brakes serviced I was glad to get a friends recommendation for Viking. They did great work without an appointment and only had my truck for a couple hours. Best of all, it was way less expensive than I expected, and even less than their initial estimate. A few weeks later I took my truck in to have the steering and fan belts belts replaced and again it ended up costing a fraction of what I expected. Viking rocks! read more
