Trying to make an appointment for an oil change,...... good luck i try online to schedule and message says they will get back to me in 30 minutes, but they never do, i have tried on 3 different occasions and they have still answer any of the appointments requested in different days and different times, and then you call and line are temporarily busy ALL THE TIME....... I had a 8:30 am appt, vehicle went on the rack at 8:35 am and stayed on the rack for nearly 2 hours. I mean a GD oil change and tire rotation takes two hours. you won't get my repeat business! I called the business woman said she was backed up on appointments asked what I needed an oil change ill take any appointments time u have she said 1:30pm . Was there at 1:20 waited waited an hour later my car still sitting hasn't been moved. I told the associate I had a 1:30 appointment she said " oh ya I got a guy on lunch I'll get someone in it . I waited and waited after seeing that there was no movement and employees walking in and out with no service I walked up asked for my keys and left . 1130am appointment. On the rack at noon. 1215 one manager says the manager james needs to talk with me in 10 minutes. James shows up an hour later...1pm and wanders around seemingly doing nothing. He calls my name at 115p. He shows me some damage on the motor fan....the farthest part of the car from the muffler. I told him 3(THREE) times to just fix the muffler. Each time he diverted the con versatile to the fire risk thr manifolds this and that...how does the car sound after driving awhile etc. He had only took pictures and sent them someplace to find out what my muffler might need. I didn't know they have zero inventory. Original manager I checked in with gave me a 90 minute turnaround. When james called over....with a head jerk saying (followme). He also flirted with customer about her nice presentation and then stated she was to look at as opposed to all the homeless smelly people that come in. There were five customers within earshot. Some obviously poor. After affirming they had touched the car for almost two hours I shut the hood and drove out. Deceit. Lazy. Poor professionalism. That's midas that's james. read more

I went in for an oil change and even though extremely busy were prompt, efficient and friendly. I cannot remember the name of the lovely front desk girl but she was informative and very personable. Coincidentally had a problem with my key fob within a few days and James was awesome. Told us to bring it by and he would look at it which he immediately did. Although he couldn't fix it, he made an appointment for me with someone he knows that can (not a dealer). I made an appointment for an oil change, since they had a $20 off deal. Arrived at the place 15 minutes early, passing by the Jiffy Lube down the street. I don't often go there because I don't like to sit and wait in the car, when there is a line. Well, here I was, 15 minutes early to my appointment and I was checked in fairly quickly. And, I was told it would be ready in an hour. An hour..... one I saw my car done, nobody came to get me. After 15 minutes I went to ask what's up. They couldn't reset my change oil light. No worry, I told them I'd do that myself. I pulled around the corner and did a sock YouTube search. Done, in 3 minutes. So, I can't recommend this place for an oil change, it takes too long even if you have an appointment. The other services, which I didn't get, I might go here to have done. So, it's slow and busy. Yet, the staff was all very nice. And I didn't feel upsold or pressured to buy anything. Yep, give them a try. read more

In my opinion, don't go here for a vehicle inspection. Even if you make an appointment, and your car is less than a year old, it'll take 45 mins for them to start and they'll take another 30+ minutes lifting the car up and sending you all kinds of photos and info to try to upsell you. If you want to save time and be more efficient, go to the Indio Midas and ask for Tony. He understands good business and knows how to take care of people. read more

Go here for car and tire service. This is the best, most honest garage I have visited in 35 years. Midas went above and beyond attempting to diagnose a transmission light issue. Even though the issue is still a mystery, James and the technician (whose name I can't recall) performed a thorough inspection of the vehicle. Free. Of. Charge. Who the f*** does "free" in the 2020s!? Midas on Ramon Rd. The details: my 2009 Mazda (low miles) has an intermittent/random transmission light for ~15 seconds with gear slippage. During or after these events, there are no diagnostic codes to identify the issue. When I spoke with James at Midas, we scheduled time to come in for a free inspection as I didn't have full confidence in the previous 2 garages. I anticipated paying for at least the time beyond a routine diagnostic test. However, the technician spent 2 hours inspecting the vehicle. James discussed with me, and didn't recommend additional work because they didn't find anything, He offered other thoughtful options along with another test drive to try again to reproduce the issue. This kind of great customer and automotive service is a rare exception these days. These younger professionals were likely not even born when I last experienced service this honest. I want to thank James and team for being great at what they do. Midas will handle my future car service needs because they deserve the business and exceed expectations. read more

As a longtime customer of Midas, I tried using this Cathedral City location several times before. It never seems to work out. Last week I was within 15 miles or so called ahead explained what type of vehicle and was told because it requires synthetic oil and takes a little extra, it with the $20 off coupon it would be $79.00. which is what I usually pay at other Midas shops. So I made an appointment for an oil change and said ca mon in..! Great. When I arrived he printed out the paperwork, but then I noticed the total was almost double than what I was quoted on the phone and what I am normally charged from other Midas shops....! He would not honor his quote nor would he match what other Midas shops normally charge me. I tried but I won't come back. read more

This is a good spot if you have car issues. I had some car problems with a few different vehicles and the gentlemen there were very helpful to get me back on the road again. They are honest, which is hard to find in a car repair type of place and do good work. Prices are a little high but they work with you on what needs to be done. Just put on new tires. Yesterday dropped off our car at our appointment time for a simple aligned at 2.5 hours later we got the call it was complete. Today we are back as the steering wheel was approximately quarter off from being straight. It's been approximately an hour so far. Pricing is good, guys are nice-but is it good enough for time spent?? My opinion NO. They are unable to complete it correctly-full refund so I may go to the dealer. read more

I brought the car in for a simple oil change. They rotated tires and did an inspection. As soon as I drove away, I noticed the my 'miles to empty' started dropping significantly. I drove a mile and the reading dropped by 8 miles. It kept happening and up until Midas mechanics touched the car, this reading was accurate. Something somewhere was disputed, dislodged- they used a different oil than 2 other mechanics had been using. And basically told me they had nothing to do with the issue- even said I was using the wrong gas despite always using the same gas and never in 5 years have had this problem. Then the manager accused me of lying that this hadn't happened before. These people are sloppy and careless read more

I took my car to Midas Cathedral city because it was overheating. I took it in the morning and at afternoon they called me with the "diagnostic" and the price. I asked them if that will fix the problem? they said... absolutely it will be like new, so I told them to do it. over $1300 to fix it. so they called me to let me know that my car was ready to go, I went to pick it up and pay but driving to my house it was overheating again. by the way I live only like 5 blocks away from them. So I took it back to the shop. Next day "it was done" same shit. I took back again, next day same shit. Next day I called them and told them that they did fixed it. They didn't want to take my car anymore. After $1300 my car is still overheating and guess what?? Now I have no money to fix the real problem.. Sad to report that the friendly Midas team was unable to fix my cooling system after many attempts and days. In fact, their final solution was to replace the entite engine. No joke, they even started looking for a new engine. So i towed my car to the dealer where they said my system needed to be burped. 80$ and 30 mins later, the problem was solved. Great front office staff! Decent waiting room with TV playing and clean bathroom. One change I would recommend is to hire a dedicated person (who is clean) and only transports vehicles to and from the raisers, since they seem to take at least five cars per hour. That way, grease and grime don't get into the cars. I had to really wipe my car interior down. I used three Clorox wipes on the starter, the transmission, the steering wheel, the door, etc. (I admit I have some OCD, but those wipes were really, really grimy.) But if you come prepared to wipe down your car, it was a delightful place to get an oil change. I will definitely go back because the staff is so sweet. I know they all work so hard, from early morning into the evening, and I hope they are paid well!! read more

Wrote a nice review a year ago for recharging my car's A/C. Went back to get the radiator flushed and found I had surpassed their competence. Said they only have ONE guy who can actually work on Fords, guess they don't see many Fords. And he only comes in next week and goodbye! If you have a hybrid car, stay AWAY!!!! Went in today for what I thought was a quick oil change and they didn't attach something to do with air filter and this triggered my safety mechanism in hybrid. They were no help in matter either... I will never go there again. read more

I came to the shop on Wednesday morning on 8/31/22. The older woman that was working the desk was incredibly rude. I walked in explaining what I needed and that I was using my extended warranty and the lady rolled her eyes at me in annoyance right away. I'm not sure if she doesn't make commission off warranty work or if she just didn't want to deal with it. She then proceeds to walk to the office behind her and tell the other man working that I would be using my warranty and he couldn't be more annoyed either. I was being extremely nice to them and they made me feel so Uncomfortable as if I was being such an inconvenience. Prior, I called my warranty company and they told me Midas would just need to call them with the last 8 of my vin to submit the claim. The woman made a big deal that no she needed the policy number and she didn't know how to call them and was extremely rude about what an inconvenience it was. I told her, okay it's no problem, I have the phone number for you. I explained that they told me she wouldn't need the policy number, just the vin, but I called and got it for her anyway. I gave her the info as she continued to treat me like I was an inconvenience. The reason I am giving 5 stars is because of my experience picking up my car. I wish I remembered the guys name that was closing the store the next day on Thursday 9/1. He said he had just moved my Beaumont. He was SO nice and SO accommodating. He kept me updated on my car, assured me when it would be finished and exactly what was going on with it. He joked with me and made friendly conversation making me feel like he really cared about my business. If it wasn't for him, I would never be back to this location.
