Definitely bringing my car back here for any and all issues with it. I brought my car in because I needed an oil change and I noticed that one of my tires had low pressure. When I back to pick up my car they let me know my brake pads were running super thin. This made sense, I hadn't replaced them in over 40k miles but it just wasn't something I thought about at all. I have never had a better experience with an automotive shop! I am from out of town and when I realized my radiator was cracked and I'd need to replace it ASAP, I was very anxious about vetting a trustworthy auto shop, about the cost of the repair, and about the time commitment to get the repair. I went in ahead of time, so they could officially diagnose the problem and I immediately got great vibes from the entire crew--they were good listeners, they didn't try to up-sell me, and they actually seemed to try to give me the best price possible. I left my car behind and they did a test drive and put the car up on the lift.....and told me I needed to replace my front CV axels and boots. I could not afford the repairs so I picked up my car and asked a friend if he recommended anyone. He said call Patrick at Viking Automotive. IN LESS THAN 1 HOUR FROM MY PHONE CALL TO PATRICK...he had my car up on a lift in his shop and discovered what was making the noise. LOOSE LUGNUTS on my front wheel. He saved me spending hundreds of dollars on repairs I did not need by being honest! Patrick made it a priority to get my car up on the lift and get me out when I showed up. I happened to find myself at this place. I was visiting a store near by. I had a problem with a tire loosing air quickly. It was snowing and no other place could look at it. I walked in Viking hoping for a small chance if they could help me. They had jobs going on but didn't make me feel less important. They pulled my car into an available bay and hosted the car up. Their service was top notch and I started thinking they way they were acting that this was going to expensive. I believe I was dealing with the owner or manager. Super nice yet making sure his shop was proficient and in task. He found a problem with the tire and told me I was in a super dangerous situation. I expected a sales pitch. But he referred me to 3-4 stores for a new tires that he trusted. Tires ain't really his thing but he said if any of those stores charge more than "X" dollars to call him back and he could order some. He lowered my car carefully and told me to be safe, NO CHARGE! but referrals and good information on my safety. Incredible service I had ever seen at a shop. I felt I dealt directly with manager personally for a minor issue. But he made me feel it wasn't minor. This is where I go now if and when problems happen. I was reffered here by a friend, and when my power steering fluid was low I decided to give Viking Automotive a try. I scheduled an appointment over the phone and they were able to get me in first thing the next morning which was nice for me. When I arrived, my reservation was already printed and ready for the mechanics to being working on my vehicle. They were pretty upfront with me about cost, which I appreciated because some places will tell you it's one price then nickle and dime you until you've broke the bank. After leaving my car there all day they called me to tell me what the diagnosis was, and told me how much each part would be to fix. I decided just to have them replace one thing, but they topped off all my fluids anyway! The price was fair, and they were very informative about the service provided. This is the best auto repair service I've seen in the area in the thirty some years I have lived here. Very thorough and very honest. They checked out my car completely and even looked at another item that a repair service near here said had to be done asap and said that particular problem was fine and did not need any repair. After not changing the oil on my car for over a year they were able to save my engine and in turn, save me $3000 in the process. I can not say enough how great this company is to work with! We decided to use Viking for a pre-purchase inspection for two used cars we were considering. For the first car, Patrick didn't even charge us because he ran a quick diagnostic on it and determined it likely wasn't worth spending the money for a full inspection. That first interaction told me he was knowledgeable and more importantly, honest and fair. I brought him the second car a few days later and they ran a thorough inspection (called a Blue Star Inspection) and explained the issues in layman's terms so that I could negotiate with the seller. Aye. The rub. $100 diagnosis fee. The fee that pretty much takes 10-15 minutes to eyeball and listen to a car to find any causes. Well if they spent an actual hour on the car thoroughly diagnosing problems then fine but a quick 10-15 min. We got what's wrong but you don't get a discount because it took much less than hour.
