Being from Southern California I've had a lot of good pizza. On a recommendation, we tried this place. Other then amusement park pizza, this was the worst pizza I've ever tasted. Both the dough and the sauce were flavorless. I never salt anything, but had to salt my pizza just to tolerate it. They messed up our order several times and even refunded most of our money. That's why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. However, considering I've had better pizza from a chain (and they don't rank high with me), the food is a clear disappointment. read more

Delicious pizza with a crunchy crust. My husband and I loved it. We each just got a slice which you can customize to your liking but ended up ordering a whole pizza from how great it was. One of the best experiences I have had in Solvang! I telecommute and needed to work on a Friday night from 4-9pm while spending the weekend in the area. If you've ever been to Solvang, you'll know that the whole city basically shuts down at 8 so I was nervous about finding a place with wi-fi open until 9 where I could work. Thankfully, I found Tower Pizza. I called in advance because I felt weird about hanging out in a restaurant to work a five hour shift without making sure it was okay. The manager, Monica I believe her name was, was SO sweet and welcoming and told me of course it was okay if I worked there. She was just as warm and friendly in person as she was on the phone, and even told me it would be okay if I didn't order dinner there-- I was welcome to work and use the wi-fi. Incredibly generous offer but of course I wanted to have dinner there. What kind of jerk would leech wi-fi and table space for FIVE HOURS and then peace out without buying food?! Not me! :) The whole five hours I was there I received fantastic customer service, even though I wasn't even a customer yet! The other two employees on the shift came over to check on me continually, offering refills on my soda and making sure I was comfortable. One employee even told me I could shut the door if I was cold! So sweet. After my long shift, I was so happy to order dinner after smelling all that delicious pizza, so tantalizingly off limits!! I had their newest menu item, beer-battered pretzel bread cheese bites, and OMG it was AMAZING!! Seriously I am so upset I can't have it again until the next time I head up to Solvang. I also ordered the combination pizza, which was totally loaded with lots of meats and vegetables. It was a little pricey for the small-ish size, but Solvang in general is a little pricey, so this should be expected. It was absolutely delicious. It certainly hit the spot. It was really great pizza! The toppings were plentiful (which is my favorite part of any pizza!) and the crust was perfectly crisp without being burnt. A+! To me, customer service is as important as the food itself, so this was an all-around great restaurant experience for me. I will be a customer for life. Love the pizza here. You can smell it from a distance. Hidden in the back. Tastes amazing like New York Pizza. People are nice. Had it twice today. Update: Customer service was amazing! There was an error with the to-go order. I had ordered 12 wings but they accidentally gave us 6 wings. I was staying a short distance away and I called the pizza place to tell them and I think it was the manager but he walked over to the hotel to refund the full wing order that was incomplete. I had high expectations as this is a highly rated restaurant in Solvang. I want to clarify, the pizza was delicious. The experience was very poor. Ordering the food was frustrating as I was told items were out of stock and other combinations could not be made. For example, the restaurant was completely out of pasta. That is rough since it is an Italian restaurant. Secondly, I tried to order a spinach and feta Stromboli. They were out of spinach and feta. This did not help matters. Next I was told I could make a Stromboli with any toppings. So I tried to order a Stromboli with ground beef only to be told I could not get ground beef because the ground beef won't cook in the Stromboli. So I think it would have been helpful to cross out items not in stock and have a list of ingredients that can or cannot be used in a Stromboli. In addition I ordered 2 salads that never came until we finished our meal and after 2 friendly reminders. I ordered a small Caesar salad and a small antipasto salad. They explained they forgot. One member in my party asked for ranch. The cashier brought the ranch but dropped it in the ground and instead of saying I'm sorry and throwing that one away and getting a fresh one, she put it on the table and said here's your ranch. There were just too many factors to give this establishment anything higher than one star. Let me repeat, the thin crust pizza was excellent and the pepperoni was generously applied to the pizza. I never raised my voice and I did not complain but we won't be coming back here when we visit Solvang next year. Frustratingly wasted $80 here. FYI, the coke machine is awesome. read more

If you're ever in the Solvang area this pizza place is a must have. They have delicious pizza with fresh ingredients. They have a great salad bar with plenty of greens, veggies and dressings to pick from. They have an arcade section with games and machines. Our favorite is the pac man game. If you don't have quarters they're always happy to exchange some for you. There is plenty of tables and chairs and the place is nice and clean. They accept debit and credit cards with no minimum purchase. All the employees are very nice and they have great service. read more

The salad bar is super unsanitary. They don't instruct you to use a different bowl when going back for seconds so people are using the salad tongs to put ingredients in used bowls. The toppings are set far back in narrow containers with no labels of what they are, making it difficult to see them and the only way to get them is to reach your arm way too far back to make this sanitary. On top of that, the spinach and Romain was barely stocked and very frozen at the bottom. I think it's mostly because the staff was very overwhelmed and I assume understaffed. I felt bad for them but that salad bar was so gross we couldn't even eat it. Also-the pizza wasn't even a redeeming feature. We didn't finish it; just ate enough to not be hungry. read more

First visit and was looking forward to eating here based on reviews. I currently have a restricted diet and ordered the vegetable pizza and salad. Their veggie pizza had a thin crust with tomatoes, artichokes, and some other veggie along with minimal sauce and cheese but lacked flavor. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item. Also, staff would hand food items (fork, bowl, contaimer for dressing )and put their hands all over the portion that goes into your mouth or put food on instead of the handle or edges. read more

Stopped by Tower Pizza today for lunch with my family, including our dog. We sat outside and our server, Monica, came out right away and gave us menus, a treat for our dog and asked if she could get some water for her. My sister in law got a sandwich and the rest of the family had pizza (vegetarian, Italian and cheese). The pizza was awesome, the service was even better. Four stars for the amazing service. The woman who helped us, got our dog water and milk bones. She also rearranged tables and umbrellas outside so our whole family could sit in the shade. They have a super fun drink machine where you can pretty much make any kind of soda you could ever want. I would give them 5 stars if the pizza was a bit better. The food and the service were horrible. We waited for a long time to our food and drinks. When we finally got our food, it so cold that it tasted as if it had come out of the refrigerator. told the waitress about it, she just stood. We had to tell her to take the food back to heated it up because she did not offer to do it. We did not get our drinks either. My mother who had surgery on her right arm got up to get our drinks. They did not even offer to help her carry them. When we told the manager about it, he gave us free buffalo wings and ice cream. the Buffalo wings were microwabable and tastesles. Stopped in at Tower Pizza. The ambiance was good for what it is. It's a sports pizza place, so there's monitors with sports and various sports banners and decor. They still maintained a kind of old-style pizza place, with the checkered tablecloths and all. It smelled great when we entered. We decided to try their Stromboli which is like a calzone but you choose two toppings for inside. We ordered three and one of them was wrong. As soon as we said that, Monica came over and apologized. She brought us some garlic bread to apologize, which was really good! It was on freshly baked ciabatta! She really felt bad and went out of her way for us. My three criteria I consider are always ambiance, food, and customer service, and for a sports-themed restaurant they hit it out of the ballpark! read more
