Vik's Market is conveniently located attached to Vik's Chaat so after getting something to eat you can head here to stock up on groceries by catching two birds w/ one hand & later set them free. Vik's Market is a decently stocked Indian grocery store. They have various types of dried legumes, rice, & countless spices. There are many packaged snacks & frozen items as well. Really you will find all you need to stock a kitchen to do some Indian cooking at home. I enjoy doing Indian cooking at home & a good place to start for recipes would be to pick up a copy of Vegan Indian Cooking: 140 Simple and Healthy Vegan Recipes by Anupy Singla. This book features many authentic recipes & the rarer harder to find spices she recommends in this book can be found at Vik's Market. One of the most unique things about Vik's Market is they have some produce & highly recommend the bitter gourd that they carry. Although it is very bitter as the name suggests it is a unique vegetable w/ many healthy benefits.

Car broken into, owners don't care

The market is a fun atmosphere and the food was great. But there are other factors that impact one's experience at an establishment, such as safety and security. Our rental car was broken into and items stolen within the 20 minute period we were parked in their lot. They have signs posted noting they're not responsible for loss. It's true we should not have left any valuables in our car. But a business should do their due diligence to ensure their premises are safe and secure. They have no lights in the parking lot, nor any security guards, and told us this happens all the time. Looking at past reviews, you'd think they would invest in some spot lights or security cameras over the past couple years. But they haven't, and shame on them. We will never come back here--that is not what you want a customer to remember about your store.

Its good for lentils and other not easily perishable items. Its the 3rd time I bought the fresh coconut and it turned out to be in a gross state. When I mentioned it to the sales person, and told that most of the coconuts have visible black fungus on top. I hope they remove these; and have better quality control.

There was fungus on the goodies. Those black spots in the pic is fungus. Ewwww. Liked this place and frequently visited it until this happened.

They don't have everything but they have enough. Plus the restaurant is in the same building.

I recommend going on a Sunday so the 90 minute street parking doesn't apply. We were easily able to get a table for four without reservation. But it was inside. Most people were sitting out on the patio. The back patio is such a cute vibe. It's like a lush garden with mature trees and shade and string lights. I wish they had a separate entrance for it though. I saw a couple people walking their dogs through the restaurant to get to the patio. The market actually has a pretty big selection of items! They even have several large refrigerators. I've never seen so many types of ramen outside a 99 Ranch. We ordered the palace rice cakes, beef cold noodles, spicy tofu, both fried chicken appetizers, and the jang pasta, and drinks. They have a nice selection of drinks that I haven't seen commonly offered at other Korean restaurants before like several types of Korean tea. Everything was delicious! My personal favorites were the jang pasta, palace rice cakes, and the cold noodles. The noodles were perfect to help cleanse the palate from the heavier and spicy menu items. Ur was tasty even without the vinegar. They were very generous with the amount of beef in the rice cakes. It was more beef than rice cake! The cost wasn't bad either. For four people it came out to $145 before tip. The only other suggestion I have is they install an air curtain or mesh curtains to help keep flies out. I really enjoyed Korean Superette and want to go back and hopefully get some groceries too!

Love the easy grab and go concept, although the rice could have used some work…read more There is a huge lunch rush, so it's best to arrive right at opening. The refrigerated display was fairly small while the back wall was lined with shelves of Asian snacks. The sushi section was only wide enough for three or four people, so guests frequently had to reach over one another to grab their selections. The staff at checkout were friendly and packaged everything neatly. I also appreciated that the chopsticks were noticeably higher quality than standard takeout utensils. *Tuna Avo Roll: good balance of tuna, rice, and avocado. The avocado was slightly underripe, giving the roll an overall sharper, tangier profile. The tuna had a pleasant texture, though it was a touch fishy. The rice was at its best in this roll compared to the other items I ordered. *Omakase Nigiri: an incredible value for the quality and generous portions. Each piece was topped with thick, fleshy cuts of fish. My set included three tuna, two salmon, one scallop, and one ikura nigiri. The tuna was the standout and nearly melted in my mouth. The salmon was solid but fairly standard. The rice, however, was on the firmer side with only subtle vinegar seasoning. *Salmon Aburi: the beautifully torched top looked promising but surprisingly lacked any noticeable smokiness. The salmon was over torched, leaving very little of its natural raw richness and rendering away much of its fattiness. The rice was firmer and even more bland than the rice used in the other items. I really appreciate the reasonable prices and convenient grab and go setup, but the rice needs more consistency in texture and seasoning. Perhaps the refrigerated display contributes to the firmer texture, though the seasoning also varied noticeably between the three items I tried. Fortunately, the seafood itself was fresh, well cut, and generously portioned, which was enough for me to round this up to 3.5 stars.
