    Fun Alcohol bottle aisle

A fun little shop to venture in for snacks, food, items not commonly found. The haul: Poppyseed bread rings: a nice alternative snack if you don't want to go for salty pretzels; it has a subtle/light sweetness Condensed milk ice cream: there was caramel in the center so it tasted very caramely and delicious. Rosehip, hibiscus, herb tea: personally didn't like because it looked and tasted like cough medicine to me. They also have things that aren't European that are cat cocoons, pants, etc. just fun to come in and try a bunch of stuff.

An Eastern European shop without any Jaffa cakes or the Polish knock-off "Delicje"? You're joking, right? The shop has a little bit of everything, but it's not filled to the brim with goods. Maybe because I went there a few days before the Holidays? Also, selling a box of Ptasie Mleczko (Bird's Milk) - light, fluffy marshmallows covered in a thin layer of chocolate - for $7 is *way* overpriced. The same product, in five times more flavors, can be found for about $5 in any Russian grocery stores in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of SF. Nothing else stood out price-wise, but I was there primarily to stock up on Polish sweets and was a bit bummed by the meager selection.

I've known about this store for decades, but this is the first time I went in. I was looking for some specific Italians cookies. They didn't have the cookies I was looking for, but I did pick up a box of Russian cookies. I have to say those Russian cookies are some of the best cookies I have eaten, lol (picture attached). If you've never been to Euromix, you have to go. Browse around, guaranteed, you won't come out empty handed. They even sell Russian butter. That will be the next item I pick up

The perogi (ricotta and sauerkraut) and OK Polish beer, compliments of Euromix and minimal elbow grease.

Great to have a store like this on Piedmont Ave. Wonderful selection that allows one to experience a range of flavours.

We shop there occasionally (three-four times a year). Can't say much about owner(s) or employees as I never interacted much other than "in out, bing bang" and that's it. I didn't notice or experience any rude or "strange" behavior, neither from customers nor employees, otherwise it would've been one star just like all those other reviews (I rarely give five stars to businesses). Also I noticed during my brief shopping visits that other patrons at that moment were from different cultures, speaking different languages, and from different ethnic backgrounds. Truly a diverse and multicultural environment. Finally to Abigail C.: Maybe you should take your rowdy, sugar hopped-up kids to the park to play or spend more time teaching them good manners. Don't be shifting your shortcomings as a parent to others around you. *I am not related to this business owner(s) and am not an everyday/"regular" visitor but reviewers with low self-esteem and an inferiority complex should consider some kind of therapy or even learning a thing or two about different cultures, or perhaps learning a different language before labeling people as racist, bigots, homophobes or any kind of "phobes".

The pistachio cream cake and ricotta and pistachio cake sound good too, so many desserts. They also have Mitchell's ice cream. Although there is a sound effect that goes off when you step in the door so the owner or staff must've known when I came in, and they also looked up when a few other people went in and out of the store, I was standing at the counter for about 5 mins before they realized I was waiting to order, so that was awkward. I realized the register is set up for grocery store and not like a restaurant so there wasn't a way to enter a tip for the drink order when paying with credit card; they only have a jar for cash tips. It says minimum $5 for credit or debit or they will charge you $0.50. The owner/employee is pretty no nonsense in demeanor. I ordered a $5 hot mocha for 16 oz. The prices are pretty good for hot drinks. For some reason, for iced drinks, which have a smaller selection, the price jumps up significantly between the 12oz and 16oz size. You can get up to 20oz size for the hot drinks. The coffee itself was pretty good, though, and I liked the amount of chocolate in it. Not bad for drinks, you just might have to try to speak up to get the owner's attention if they are busy washing dishes or not looking your way / not at the register.

I remembered a place on Jackson Street that I had gone to 5 years ago that had a tremendous selection - looked it up on Yelp and it was no longer on Jackson, but was listed in Castro Valley. So we went thought we'd go by and give it a try. Great decision! The "new" store in Castro Valley is much brighter, cleaner, nicer than the old location. I think the old location had more stuff from Eastern Europe, but this new location seems to have a broader selection, with more stuff from Western Europe and the Middle East. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful - always willing to answer questions and even give tips on how to use the products that they sell. And his recommendations have been great - we asked him about which tahini and zaatar to get (they have many different brands/types of each...) and the ones he recommended have been way tastier than any of the brands that you find in most markets. Especially good was his recommendation on lebnah - he said that the brands they carry are all good, but they have some that they package in-house that was special. I tried it - it was less expensive than the other brands, but was the very best lebnah that I have ever tasted! Richer, creamier, with just the right amount of tang. Wonderful stuff! Anyway, Crossroads is a nice, clean, well-lit place with a great selection of unique products, and friendly, knowledgeable sales staff. Well worth a trip!
