My husband had the carne asada burrito and I tried a variety plate with a hard shell taco, chicken enchilada, and ground beef tamale. Everything was very good and affordable pricing. I would consider myself new to Azle, and my husband and I are always looking for new places to try. We came across this restaurant and I'm glad we did. The first time we came, we were treated very well by a waiter that is no longer their. Cody was his name and he is missed. The second time we came during the same week (that should say something) we brought my sister and her family. We learned that happy hour was until 8pm which was a plus on a Friday evening. We had from carne asada fries to our normal Mexican dishes both times we tried it out. It is very busy and sad to know they are understaffed so be patient when you go. The service we got was lousy . My sister and both ordered Chicken Fajitas and wanted corn tortillas, the waitress (was an older lady) I figured she might be good . Wrong, she brought us flour tortillas and never came over to refill our tea glasses , in fact I had to find her to get more ice tea, when I did find her , she was rolling silverware . It can get busy but even when I've been on time crunch the waiter pulled it off so I wasn't late for another engagement. Always friendly. Celebrating my fathers Birthday, we called and asked if they let people make reservations and they do for a deposit. Which is awesome. They give 2 options as a deposit. First is a 50 dollar non refundable deposit. Second is a 150 deposit that you can get back if the total bill is more than 250. We reserved for 14 and put us in our own back corner which was nice. This review breaks my heart, but right is right. We have come here so many times because the service is great, the food is AMAZING, and the prices are fair. BUT- On Wednesday, we saw an ad in the paper for Enchiladas and a Drink for $8.50. It sounded great, so we packed up the kiddo and went out to dinner. My hubby and I both ordered the enchiladas and tea. When I asked for half queso and half chili on my enchiladas, she told me it would be an extra $1. If it is half and half, it is not extra, so I am not sure why I was charged for "side sauce". We let that slide. When the bill came, both my hubby and I were charged $10 for the meal and an extra $5 for the two iced teas. So, we asked the server, who was in a rush to run the credit card without listening to our issue, why we were charged the extra $8 total because it was the Wednesday special. The server told us it was only her 4th day and she had no clue there was a special. So we had to almost beg her to go get a manager. A few minutes later, she returned (no manager in tow) to tell us that the manager is the owner's son and he is at the bar. She told us that he had never heard of the special either (as she is giving us the already processed credit card receipt without the special). So my husband pulled the ad up on his phone. The server took a picture of the ad, then returned to her manager to show him the actual ad for the special. Again, she returned (STILL NO MANAGER IN TOW) to tell us that he had still never heard of it. And that was all. Not one time did the manager ever come to us to speak, attempt to make it right, call his dad the owner to verify, or anything. So I have now spent the past 48 hours calling the restaurant to talk to the owner/manager about this. I have been making sure to call during non peak hours to have the time to talk to him, but I have gotten no return call, or have been told that he is not available or is busy. One time, I was put on hold and nobody ever came back to the phone. The sad part is that we would have been happy to pay full price for our dinner. The way we were treated when we spoke up is what ultimately needed to be addressed. So unfortunately, like most people that get ripped off and ignored, we will not return, and we will tell everyone within ear shot that not only were we ignored, the managers were apathetic to the customer's complaints, and falsely advertises in the paper. In a town with SEVERAL Mexican restaurants to choose from, this type of behavior usually leads to an empty building waiting for the next restaurant to fill it. It is seriously heartbreaking to mark such a great place off of my "go to" list. read more

Came here for lunch after reading some of the reviews while passing thru Azle. The service was fast and friendly. The server was very attentive and quick to meet our needs. On top of getting bent over for average food....I got there to pick it up, they got the order wrong....I ended up waiting 20 mins longer than quoted for them to fix it....all around awful experience. This is the second negative experience in 3 visits so unfortunately it's a trend at this point. I mentioned my experience to the "manager" and he immediately got defensive and said "well you got it now" and completely dismissed it and didn't even apologize.
