Very strange it was so fast in less than 5 minutes. I am sorry to say the pizza was horrible. Soggy crust and dry pizza, not sure how that is even possible. Crust and pizza in general had no taste. I had this strange feeling the pizza might be premade and maybe they just add the topping for your order I don't know. Overall, it was very much a tale of 2 cities. Iffy service and horrid pizza. We're relatively new to the Edison area and didn't really know where to go for Italian. Yelp reviews for this post looked good, it was a quick ride away and the price point was spot on. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were impressed with how clean everything was. We were looking for an easy and casual Italian restaurant on a Saturday night and found the perfect place. While we did make reservations, the restaurant is quite large and can easily take walk ins. The service is extremely friendly. Our waiter was quirky and friendly and made sure that we were never wanting. We ordered the Zuppa di Pesce and Veal Toscano and both were delicious. The clams were extremely fresh and not overdone and the tomato sauce was just right and not too salty. For dessert we had the tiramisu which they make in house. Yum. We are definitely coming back here again We look forward to many more meals at Villa Gennaro. read more

Long time, old school, established friendly Italian eatery that has a variety of tasty traditional style Italian dishes. First came here a few times a couple of years ago, tasting the Linguini and Clams, Chicken Parm, Pizza, etc. but a recent job relocation has increased my visits significantly. Gennaro's has a wide variety on it's menu, so you can eat here a few times a week without getting bored. We have been coming to Villa Genarros for over 10 years, and it just keeps getting better. We recently celebrated my mother's 65th birthday in their private banquet room, and it was amazing. Tony and his team made sure the party was a success. I came in with some friends to celebrate a birthday and we were delighted with everything! This was my first time here, needless to say, it won't be my last. The service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive and helped me through the menu to make the right choice for an entree. Her enthusiasm showed that the staff here really cares about their customers!! My friends ordered specials that were not on the menu, I went with the braised short rib which was recommended by the waitress. The short rib was cooked to perfection, it was very tender and came right off the bone. The sauce was excellent, you could tell they put a lot of effort into creating this dish. I recommend Gennaros if you are in the middlesex county area. I live further up in jersey by Bergen county and Had the pleasure of attending this restaurant on Mother's Day with my mom and dad. Our server Leslie was friendly and made it a really nice meal, she took very good care of us and accommodated the dishes we ordered to our liking. ( she also gave my mom a cute rose which put a smile on her face) My mom and dad are not huge fans of Italian food but we got excellent recommendations of seafood dishes that both of them very much enjoyed. Their banquet hall downstairs is very cozy and made us feel at home. They accommodate you with which ever seating arrangements you prefer. Besides there great ambiance and decor, the food was absolutely fantastic. While booking my party I was amazed with the selections and different packages you get to choose from. The owner sits you down and goes over everything with you on a personal level. There is no room fee which was very appealing to me and my wife while making our decisions. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. My family from out of state was coming for a memorial service. We had to reschedule two times, the owners we incredibly understanding, and accommodating. When we finally had our luncheon the staff was waiting for us, the table was set beautifully, and the food was incredible. One dish after the next was perfect, hot, fresh, and beautiful presentation. I cannot say enough good things about how we were treated, and how good the food was. This may have been the best meal me and my girlfriend ever had. She had the eggplant rollitini, I had the cavatelli and broccoli. We split a caeser salad for an appetizer. The eggplant and cavatelli in particular were each our favorite meal, probably ever at any place we've been out to. Our waiter, Joe, couldn't have been a friendlier or nicer guy. We've been to all kind of restaurants from chains to fancy to random places... NOTHING tops this place. We will 100% be going back. It was my first time here. The food & service was excellent. Friday -Sunday they have delicious specials that are not on the menu. My server Jasmin was very knowledgeable and knew how to sell these specials. My husband got a delicious rack of lamb from this verbal menu( we had to take another one to go). We came to this restaurant on the ride back from Connecticut and we ordered the Garlic shrimp, the bruschetta, the eggplant pizza, and the Margarita pizza. Everything was amazing. Everything. It was so good that while having a fully packed car, we still ordered another large margarita pizza to go. My office go-to place for pizza & salad. Their pizzas are made just right, crust is not too thin, not too thick, sauce is delicious, cheese is not salty, pizza is not greasy. The salad is great and dressing is so good! We've had our holiday luncheon at the restaurant and the service was impeccable. The food was tasty and plentiful. Im kicking back right now with my feet up huge smile on my face . I just ate at Vila Gennaro's . Tony always goes out of his way to make sure I'm happy . I started with a specialty salad that he makes for me only , well he makes me feel that way but I'm sure it's on the menu . After waiting an hour, the order finally arrived... but the sandwich was missing two of the main ingredients. No ham, no salami, even though I was charged for them. When I called, the manager offered either $5 off or to deliver the missing meat (which "could take a while"). I've been a loyal customer of Oakwood Pizza for years, but over the past year, I've noticed a decline in both quality and customer service. Calls are now answered with just a "hello," without even identifying the business. The last time we ordered, the wings were overcooked and dry, and now this. It's disheartening to see a local restaurant, one that's been part of our community for so long lose sight of what made people support them in the first place: great food and genuine service. As local businesses struggle to stay open, I truly hoped Oakwood Pizza would rise to the occasion, not fall behind. Sadly, after this experience and the rudeness shown today, I can no longer support this establishment. I always try to root for small businesses, but respect and care for customers should never be optional.
