I've passed this place many times and in all honesty I was headed to another restaurant and mistakenly came to Villa Italia by chance. I didn't even realize that there is an upstairs dining area as we wound up sitting at the outside dining area. The service was friendly and prompt. My fiancé and myself ordered the meat lovers pie with mushrooms and it came out in a very short amount of time. The pie was cheesy and piping hot and very tasty! There was a generous amount of toppings and the crust was enjoyable as was the entire pizza itself. We will return again when the pizza urge comes up! I wish I took some photos hopefully next time I will remember to add some. read more

Ordered here because of the 4.4 star review average, and BOY were we disappointed! The pizzas were flavorless. Hawaiian had a tiny amount of ham (which is very small cubes, not what's pictured on the website) and an overcooked crust. The veggie was just... meh. Couldn't taste anything on it. You should be able to tell that there's an olive or a jalapeno in a bite. Also got garlic knots, which were okay. The marinara sauce is too thin and too sweet. This little slice of Italy, was amazing! The pizza dough is fresh and was thin and delicious! The meatballs you can tell we made in house, they were good size and the sauce they were in were amazing! We got two 18" pizzas, two meatball subs and spaghetti and meatballs for the group of 7 and we had a whole pizza left over! We sat outside on the patio and it was so much fun because it's a lighted patio and it was just a change of pace from sitting inside. The staff were friendly. My only complaint is that you have to buy bottled water, for someone who drinks a lot of water during dinner that was a huge issue for me. read more

Extra Charge for Salad Dressing?! Villa Italia is a small pizzeria with a few basic Italian dishes besides pizzas. Its main business seems to be take-out. Inside the spare interior there are a few bare tables. Most tables are outside, but it was a bit cool for me to eat outside. Service is confusing. Are you supposed to order and pay at the counter or sit and wait for a server? Apparently, it's a little of both. Several people were waiting for to-go orders and a couple of them remarked aloud about how slow it was to get their food. On the specials board they have a lasagna entrée liste--twice. It's also on the menu at the same price. So, what makes it special? Maybe they were just pushing the lasagna? I ordered the lasagna and was told they were out of it. Huh? I got a side salad with Italian dressing and it was fine--nothing special. I also had spaghetti and meatballs. Again, just fine. The tomato sauce and the meatballs were rather bland and needed a lot more seasoning. When I went to the counter to pay, I had to specifically ask for a detailed check. I hate having to ask for something that should be delivered automatically. I was a bit shocked to find that the salad dressing on my salad was an extra charge. Will they start charging for the lettuce on the salad or the parmesan on the spaghetti? I see no reason to return. read more

Who doesn't love a family owned Italian restaurant. A hidden gem among the area! The owners are beyond kind and gracious, and the service is super fast. I ordered Togo on a Friday night and had it in less than 30 minutes for an order for over 5 people! Now to talk about the food! I ordered Togo and it was still super hot and delicious when it got home. I ordered the cheesesteak hoagie and buffalo chicken pizza and prosciutto pizza they were both fantastic options. I highly recommend the hidden gem of prosciutto pizza! It was slightly sweet and savory and light and filling all at the same time! It's one of my new favorite spots and I highly recommended anyone and everyone trying it out. read more

Love the outside seating. All of the employees were awesome and Bogo beers hit the spot with good pizza. The jalapeño peppers hit the spot too. Mozzarella sticks were cold inside out from fryer but marinara sauce was good. Service was great and brought everything to us outside. read more

This is easily in the top five pizza restaurants I've had in Florida. It was perfectly cooked! We (my family visiting - fellow pizza snobs and former bakers) - had pepperoni and plain - both delicious. The wings were also fantastic, great sauce! This is a family owned spot , and the service was superb. They were very accommodating and attentive to our party of 7. Thank you for a great lunch! Always in the hunt for the best pizza in the area, I decided to give them a try. I got a pickup order for one 18 inch pepperoni pizza. They gave me no total over the phone when I ordered. At the counter, even though I paid in cash, the total was several dollars more than the posted online menu price. (If I knew this, I would have just gotten my favorite from that popular "I am Brooklyn" joint on Ulmerton). As for the pizza... I thought the crust was good, but the rest was nothing to remember. The sauce had no punch, no zip. The whole pizza was rather bland and quite greasy. I expect a pepperoni pizza to be greasy, but this was just too much. We had to "blot" it with paper towels. Maybe I caught them on an off day, as it seems my opinion is in the minority? I'm not sure I'll go back, as the difference between the online price and the actual cost was quite large for just inflation and a lack of a menu price update. read more

We came to Largo visiting for the holiday weekend and found this little gem the night we arrived. We were immediately greeted by the owner as we walked in. She was so friendly and inviting it was as if we were family being invited into her home. She was so accommodating and happy to serve our party of five. The pizza was delicious too! Then she offered to cook up some fresh zappoli for dessert and we couldn't resist. Everything about this place from the ambiance, to the service, to the food was top notch! We like our pizza on the thin crust, well done side. The pizza here was not quite up to par. The dough was too doughy and there was not enough sauce. There was one very good highlight which was the starter salad. It was fresh had a variety of ingredients and was accompanied by a delicious homemade dressing. Honestly, we like Paisano's in Saint Petersburg, but if I'm ever up this way again, I'll give it another shot read more

First of all - their pizza is amazing! I've also had their lasagna and that is also killer. Very reasonable prices ($20 large (specialty) pizza, $5 glass of wine) making it a great date night option. My wife and I stopped by during our daughter's practice. It's just a couple minutes down the road, so we thought we'd give it a try. Is an older place with a chintzy charm-- lots of fake flowers with a couple of withering live ones thrown in for good balance. They do have a nice patio, though it was too cold the evening we went. The interior is small with a few tables and the counter opens to the kitchen. We ordered some mozzarella sticks and a 12" pepperoni--just looked like the kind of place where a traditional order world be best. We also splurged and got two cans of Mountain Dew (we rarely get cokes these days). The service was good and the cheese sticks were excellent; however, the pizza was disappointing. I guess it was supposed to be New York style, but I couldn't say for sure. The crust was decent, but the toppings were pretty much a soggy mess. It was foldable, and that's pretty much the only way to keep the toppings from sliding off in an amalgamated mass. The food was very good. The pizza was excellent. The wings are well cooked with crispy skin. The meatball sub was good. The only issue is they wrap the sub in a paper that sticks to the cheese.
