I ordered the same pizza as the last couple of times (18" Supreme) but I just need to add a couple of small updates. For one thing, the 18" pies are now $2 or $3 more than the 16" ones. No big deal for a bigger pie, actually. One thing I neglected to mention about the toppings on this thing...they are fresh! No canned mushrooms or soggy pepper chunks on this bad boy. Again, the veggies are plentiful and there's enough protein (sausage, pepperoni and mutz) to keep the flavor going. I know Westshore just up the street uses canned veggies on their pies...yet another valid reason to stay away from there. Now here's an interesting side note...I made the call to place the order. For a split second I thought I dialed the wrong number. A lady with a thick Asian accent answered and I had to slow down a bit to make sure I understood her and conveyed my own information properly. When I get there to pick up, indeed an Asian lady (Vietnamese, actually) was behind the counter running the place. I usually get the owner himself, but he wasn't anyplace in the small store. This time, meanwhile, their newest menu was plastered onto the pizza box. One of the oddities I noticed in the appetizer section of their menu is "Vietnamese Egg Rolls." I'd seen it previously but thought nothing of it. So putting two and two together I figured out that Mrs. Owner was in charge today! Now the egg roll app makes a lil more sense! So the big thing out of all this is what I'd said previously...I am glad to support these local "little guy" operations. I'm particularly proud to do so when I see a hard working couple running an operation like this rather than filling some third party's pocket. She was a very nice, polite lady, much as her husband is a well mannered man. Both are friendly and solicitous, and they know how to make a mean pie. I highly recommend them; I would just get it to go, because the shop itself wins no prize at all. read more

Always on the hunt for 5-star pizza, I was in the area and decided to try Mamma Mia due to their excellent Yelp rating. Unfortunately, I was left rather disappointed. While the NY-style crust was excellent, the sauce was a bit too sweet than I prefer, and they were quite frugal with the pepperoni, my only topping Maybe I caught them on an off night? The service was also not very friendly. I was just given a total, then handed my pizza. No "Hello," or "Hey, thanks for your business." Hmmmmm... While I was optimistic visiting here, "Mamma" did not give me any good reason to return. Oh well... read more

The food is fantastic! The antipasto was delicious fresh greens and tasty dressing. We had the Marguerita pizza as well as the meat lovers. They place the fresh basil on after the pizza is cooked .. delicious . I cannot rave enough about the calzone.. baked with tasty seasoning to perfection. The restaurant has about 7 four tops and t for convenient dine in experience. Restaurant is clean. Would definitely recommend Great customer service! We've been wanting to try a new place. This one had great reviews. The garlic bread was good. We added cheese. The pizza did not have many toppings the crust was good though. Idk if id try them again or not, there are too many options & this was just ok tonight. The crust was fresh & tasty but the toppings tasted frozen & flash cooked which resulted in a tombstone pizza taste. Sadly we ended up throwing it away since no one wanted to eat it again. read more

I came across this place via the Uber Eats platform and decided to give it a try. The pictures are really what captivated me, but I vividly remember thinking to myself how I sure hope that the pics were real and not stock images. I ordered a large 18" meat lovers pizza. It was a very short wait time and the order was ready upon my arrival. Staff was friendly, although he didn't really say much at all. Not even a smile, but that's ok. The pizza aroma filled my car on the 9 minute drive home. By the time I got home, I was craving that first bite. Oh my it was soooo worth the wait. This is by far my new favorite pizza. Everything about it was just perfection. It wasn't greasy at all - which is something I've found to be very routine at other pizza joints but not here! The dough was also perfect. The crust was just the right size and cooked perfectly. I even had leftovers the next morning and ate it cold (the ultimate test of great pizza) and it was just as amazing! My new favorite pizza place - so much so that I'll drive the 6 miles to get it. read more

I was visiting relatives in the neighborhood and we decided to get a pizza. I knew there was a Pizza Hut storefront location just next to Publix on East Bay, so I tried to order online and discovered they were closed. My "Plan B" was to ask Yelp to recommend the "Best Pizza in Largo", and Mamma Mia's was one of the "Top 10". I prefer to patronize independent businesses anyway, so I looked at their online menu and decided to give them a try. There WAS an online ordering system, but it was through a third-party provider called "Slice". I'm reluctant to trust third-party providers, so I ordered the "old-fashioned" way, picked up the phone and dialed. The phone was promptly answered by a cheerful individual who took my order and told me that it would take about 20 minutes. I waited about 10 minutes and drove over. "Mamma Mia's" is located in a small strip mall on East Bay, just west of Wendy's. There's plenty of free parking, and the restaurant is easy to get in and out of. The restaurant itself is smaller, with seating for 18 people. Decor is simple and utilitarian but it's probably not a place that I'd want to dine in. There just wasn't any atmosphere. That said, I was greeted in a cheerful manner. I told the counter person who I was. He checked the orders and then reported that my pizza was almost done and would be ready in just a few minutes. (Note: I ALWAYS plan to arrive at a carry-out location about 5 minutes before the food is supposed to be ready. That way the food doesn't have to sit under a heat lamp if I'm delayed by traffic , which is always a possibility! If I DO arrive early, I tell the host "I'm early, never know about traffic" In just a few moments, the counter person told me my pizza was ready. He opened the box for me to confirm that it was as ordered. (I don't blame him. I've read other reviews from people who claim that their pizzas were not as ordered, damaged, partially eaten, or missing slices. If I had to guess, there may be a surveillance cam right over the checkout. It's sad that business owners have to defend themselves from people who want a "freebie") I paid, and headed for the car. (Note: leaving the restaurant, you can only turn right on East Bay. If west is the way you want to go, that's great, but if you need to go east, you'll have to go down a few blocks and hang a U-turn. A way around this is to turn left, exit the parking lot on Pine Forest Drive between the strip mall and Wendy's, turn left and then take a shortcut through the Publix parking lot where there's a traffic light.) It was only a few minutes drive, and the pizza was still piping hot when I got home. Everyone agreed that it was tasty. The veggies were freshly cut, the pepperoni and sausage were good, the crust had just the right amount of "crustiness" and was just a really good pie! (Note: This was a thin-crust pizza, which is the only crust they offer. My preference is a crispy thick-crust "Detroit-style" pizza, but I've got to admit, the Mamma Mia's thin crust pizza was absolutely delicious!) I'm glad that I discovered Mamma Mia's, and it's now #1 on my "go-to" pizza list when I'm in the area. You should try it, it might be on your list, too! read more

I thought everything was pretty good. I'll be honest the other photos of the cheese pizza looked better than what ours looked like today. Even though it didn't look the same I still think the pizza was pretty good. 6.8 on the One Bite scale. Wings were crispy and alright, a better sauce would have made a lot better though. Wings were great, the sauce was just ok. Not a lot of sauce or flavor. The price was very reasonable. They had a weekend special for a large 1 topping 10 Wings and a 2liter for $25, I was pretty impressed with the food for the price. If I go back I'd skip the extra cheese, and probably get the wings plain and toss them in a little Frank's and butter myself. Def worth a try. read more

Don't let the size of this great pizzeria fool you....nothing but great big delicious flavors waiting inside. We had a meat lovers pizza, a salad, and a cannoli. Each item was great. We like our pizza well done....the chef made it exactly per our request and to our liking; their pizza crust is tasty.
