wow cant believe villa maria pizza joint on eastchester ave in the bronx is still around but it still is and the only major changes are the menu as they added burger , fries and other food items which is the norm in most pizza shop now. i went old school and ordered 2 cheese slices and a bottle of diet coke . the pizza is still as good as i remembered but the guy who owned this place back in the day is long gone. overall it was good to visit the old hood and memories last forever , just like a good slice of pizza . 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more

Overall their pizza is pretty good, comparable to other pizzerias in the area. A standout is their chicken and tomato pizza which is a no-cheese marinara pie topped with (surprise) chicken and tomato marinated in a mild vinegar blend. Their calzones and rolls leave something to be desired. The cheese calzone lacked flavor and the chicken roll was sloppily put together and kinda mushy. Normally I would bypass Villa Maria for better options, but I will order from here if I want something quick - they have fast delivery and are willing to come out even in inclement weather. I do order from Villa Maria pretty regularly because they have free delivery, but I've gotta say their pizza is subpar in taste. It's never hot enough, one, but more important than that, it always tastes like it's been sitting around for a while or it's been reheated one too many times. Also, their calzones are "made to order," so you can add any ingredients you want, but it's actually just pizza dough rolled up with cheese and said ingredients. The ends aren't even tucked it so that when you pick it up, all the innards fall out from the other end. Messy. And not delicious. Their beef patties, however, are pretty good. I have been going to this pizzeria for 20 years and the last few years they have hiked up there prices, they've changed the amount of garlic knots from 4 for a dollar to 3 for a dollar and when ever you want to get a slice with toppings they'll add other toppings on to it to get you to pay more. This place has gone down hill and there only good for one thing............. a plain slice and that's only when they decide to let the cheese actually melt. read more

If you're planning to eat here. PLEASE GO TO NORAS PIZZA NEXT DOOR. Firstly the food in Maria's is very very good. But the problem is the staff that run it. It's not the whole staff it's just this one guy that talks to aggressively. One time me and some friends were seeking to take out, while we were on the line suddenly this guy screams, "Move out the way let the old lady order!" Me and my friends were like "Okay?" He clearly didn't have to be an asshole doing this and the restaurant was confused as why he had to scream so loud. Another instance of this guy unnecessarily doing shit is when one of my friends had an electric scooter. Now while we were ordering and paid, he came up again and said "PUT THAT SCOOTER IN THE BACK GUYS" My friend with the scooter insisted on arguing with him due to another way of him being an asshole with his attitude. I'm just saying this pizza joint can be 10x better if this guy calms down. He treats us like some dad disciplining you to put away something but 10x louder for no reason. This has been my go to Pizza place for many years. The pizza is good and the service is timely. I call ahead and it's usually ready within 10-15 min. My only observation is that of late, the large pies seem to have gotten smaller. I recommend thIs place. read more

The pizzas aren't bad, but they highly lack on customer service and courtesy. The owner isn't as bad but the other guys just don't care about anything but getting rid of customers asap. Be aware that if you pay using a credit card they inform you that they have to charge you tax.... if you use cash they won't charge tax. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now but as of today I was charged $1.50 more than any other time for a sandwhich and the skinny dumb Mexican just kept insisting that it's the price so I asked for the old Pr man and he said the prices went up .50 cents but the sign was still the old price.
