The ambiance is warm and inviting, and one thing that really stood out was how the waitstaff worked together as a team to ensure everyone had a great experience. Tyler, our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. Be sure to make reservations! They open at 5:00 p.m., and because they're located near the beach, the restaurant fills up quickly with both locals and tourists. Three people in our party ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Piccata and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you choose the angel hair pasta, I'd recommend asking for a little extra sauce since the pasta tends to soak it up. I ordered the Blackened Seared Shrimp and Scallops Alfredo, and it was outstanding. The Alfredo sauce was rich, creamy, and silky smooth, perfectly coating the pasta and seafood. From the excellent service to the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere, Villa Palma is definitely a restaurant I'd recommend for date night or any special occasion. We recently dined here after making a reservation and had a solid, but not standout, experience. The ambiance is super cute--definitely one of the highlights. It has that cozy Italian feel that makes you want to settle in and enjoy a good meal. They're located in this strip mall, but walking in the restaurant made you felt like you were transported somewhere special. They started us off with fresh bread, olive oil, and Parmesan, which we appreciated. One thing I found a bit unusual was that salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes aren't automatically on the table. They do provide them, but only upon request--and it's a standard salt shaker with fresh cracked pepper. Not a big deal, but it feels like something that could have came out with the oil and Parmesan. We started with the calamari, which was nicely fried--crispy on the outside and mostly tender, though a few pieces leaned a bit chewy. The marinara sauce was straightforward and a bit plain, nothing that really elevated the dish. My wife ordered the shrimp pasta. It was decent overall, but when I asked if she would order it again, she said no--which kind of sums it up. I had the clams and linguini in a white wine sauce. The linguini itself was cooked perfectly, but the clams were rubbery, which usually points to being overcooked. The sauce leaned too sharp and acidic, lacking that balance you expect from a proper white wine sauce--typically finished with butter to round it out and bring everything together. That richness was definitely missing which added to a poor experience for me. Service was slower than expected. It took about 50 minutes to receive our main dishes after ordering, which felt long--especially for a reservation-only restaurant and we ordered seafood dishes which doesn't take long to make. Pricing also felt a bit high for what you get and sides are all à la carte, which adds up quickly without a noticeable bump in portion size or overall experience. If the food and service matched the ambiance, this would have been a much stronger overall experience. As it stands, it was decent, but it didn't quite meet my dining expectations given the pricing and reservation-only setup. read more

We ate there twice during our five day stay in the area. First night, began with Caesar salad and strattecelli soup (Spelling). Entrees were clams and linguine and Chicken Picata. Both outstanding dinners in their own right. Tender chicken sauteed to perfection. Lemon caper wine sauce was perfect. the Clams were cooked just right, 13 pieces in a delectable broth. Dinner two: soup again and tomatoes caprese followed by veal parm and eggplant rollatini. The red sauce on each platter was so delicate ad flavorful. Again, very tender veal and crispy fried. Restrooms could work, that would help. Posting a sign below eye level at the hostess stand is really not helpful and then letting us know (table of 7) after we were seated was pretty crappy. Menu is incorrect and the waiter wanted to argue with me until I asked him to read it to me and clarify, then he apologized. He did not realize he was the waiter that somehow got a $42 tip on our tab a year ago on our credit card after we left a cash tip. Very surprised to see he still worked there. read more

First time back to Villa Palma, since the extensive renovations, which I have to say transformed this into a much more upscale, beautiful restaurant. The service was very good including the hostess to the servers. The food was very good, especially the Rock shrimp appetizer prepared as if it were calamari and very light and not at all greasy. Friend had the muscle muscles which were terrific. I had the scallops and shrimp piccata and they were very good. The Caesar salad was a good salad, but it's not a Caesar dressing. read more

The establishment has seating in booths, half booths, tables and at the bar, all were full on a Friday night at 6pm. The staff here is lovely, attentive and knowledgeable, today our server was Aubrey and she was terrific! When seated fresh bread, herbed oil and Parmesan cheese are brought to the table along with a dinner menu and some specials. The menu is extensive and categorized separating proteins from pastas. We choose to have chicken parmigiana and Cioppino fra Diablo. The parm was served with penne in a traditional red sauce and was delicious. The Cioppino was filled with mussels, clams, scallops and shrimp in a spicy broth over angel hair pasta and was som of the best I've ever had. Right after we were seated, the waitress brought us some bread and a small ramekin of Parmesan cheese, garlic olive oil, and crushed red pepper flakes to help ourselves to. 5/5 taste My friend and I ordered fried ravioli for starters. It came with a side of spicy tomato sauce. It was fried just right, crispy but stuffed with ricotta cheese inside drizzled with spicy marinara sauce. 5/5 taste I chose the chicken carbonara pasta while my friend chose the tortellini. My chicken for the carbonara had the option to be grilled, fried, or blackened. I chose blackened for more flavor. When I received my pasta, it looked amazing! The pasta was cooked to perfection, wasn't completely drowning in sauce, and you can clearly see the prosciutto inside it along with green peas. It's a fantastic flavorful dish, plenty to eat and I even had to take half of it home. Taste 5/5 My friend's tortellini was also very delicious according to her!!! We ended the girlies dinner with a salted caramel cheesecake. Even though I'm not a big fan of sweets, this cheesecake was light and creamy, topped with a brulee kinda topping. Presentation on the plate could be a bit better for the dessert, but that really didn't matter. I would definitely recommend anyone to come try out this restaurant. Everything here is absolutely delicious. From the free bread, olive oil, spices, and cheese that they give you, to their entrées and appetizers. I can't speak to the desserts as of yet. I have been here three times already! Ever since they've redone the inside, it has been nothing but upscale and a better experience overall. I love the dim lighting, and it makes it very romantic, or even just a casual elevated place to go. You would never assume this place was as nice as it is if you saw it from the outside. The only thing that could be better is the service. Every time I have gone, we are typically waiting a long time before seeing our servers for any reason. Whether it be to put in our first drink orders, or to get our check at the end, there was normally significant amount of time and the service overall was very slow as far as that is concerned. However, I would still recommend this place, leaps and bounds for the food. Hopefully they hire more people! read more

Visited here for the first time. I had the Bolognese. It was delicious. Our service was great. Sherry was our server. She's fantastic. The ambiance was perfect. Don't let the strip mall front fool you. This is a top class restaurant. Although we were seated without a reservation, it's probably best to have one. Our visit was enhanced by an older couple who were just, shall we say, hard to deal with. The staff took it in stride and showed way more patience than I would have. Don't be like this couple. I enjoyed the old Villa Palma but I also enjoy the new Villa Palma as well. Much more updated and I think it will bring in a new crowd of people. Villa Palma has undergone a stunning modernization & renovation. Gone are the wobbly tables (a personal pet peeve, if you're counting), replaced with sturdy, elegant ones that encourage ordering the whole menu in true American Italian dining style. The escargot, which was so good, made me question why I don't eat snails more often; I mean, I'd still cook them, but... Each bite was a garlicky, buttery delight that transported me straight to a Parisian bistro. The calamari followed suit, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside - the kind of calamari that makes you forget any chewy, rubbery experiences from most restaurants. The bread service was actually a separate course that was useful for the others (American Italian cuisine requires bread to get all the sauce (or gravy), served with olive oil, garlic, and cheese; it was the kind of bread that dreams are made of. If carbs are the enemy, then consider me a double agent, because I could not get enough of it. Maybe they need to get pizza, and I can sleep under a table. We shared the eggplant rollatini because I'm already fat. It's a dish that could convert even the staunchest eggplant skeptics. It was cheesy, savory, and downright delicious--quintessential American-Italian comfort food at its finest. During our visit to Villa Palma for a birthday celebration, we asked our server (Lindsey E.) if we could bring a cake inside and have it served. She confirmed this and offered to cut the cake, which we accepted. At the end of the meal, we were presented with a $20 cake-cutting fee and a CCSF of $3.18 per guest. Our party included 11 people, and the CCSF was charged to each guest without any prior disclosure. We had no issue paying the fees and did pay them upfront; after paying, we asked why the fee hadn't been disclosed earlier. Lindsey replied, "well now you know and maybe next time you should asked," which came across as rude. We were disappointed for her behavior and lack of professionalism. Transparent disclosure of additional charges is important for respectful customer service. We hope Villa Palma, as a locally owned business, will train staff to be more transparent and to handle such matters professionally, to help nurture better guest relationships. read more

Tonight I went back to Villa Palma. It was the last place I got to have dinner with a beloved family member before losing them this past August and this was the anniversary of that dinner so I wanted to recreate that night. The staff were incredible. My waiter Jack recommended combining the 2 dishes from last time and it was even better than I imagined. He also did a fantastic job describing 2 wines I was trying to decide between. Through my dinner I saw it becoming busy so I offered to finish my wine at the bar so my table could be turned where I met a bartender Lisa that has such an outgoing spirit! There was also a staff member (that I didn't catch her name) but she helped with bussing tables & made sure a water glass was never less than half full. The place has gone thru a major interior renovation and looks very contemporary but the food is still the same, Amazing! We visited last week for my daughter's birthday and all enjoyed a fantastic meal! The bread is outstanding, what a crunch! We had calamari, mussels and fried ravioli for apps. Dinner, rigatoni alla vodka, which is second to none, shrimp and sun dried tomatoes which she and I shared. The boys had carbonara and chicken Marsala. Only the girls went home with left overs but everyone was overly full. Did dessert disappoint, no! Peanut butter mousse, yum and of course cannoli. We definitely rolled out of there. My first review of Villa Parma was in 2013. Since then I try to visit at least once a year from out of town. although we like to try different places we know Villa Parma will have consistent food and service. Sure prices have changed and the complimentary salad is gone they still offer great value. Locals should appreciate what they have in the authentic NY-style Italian food served up at Villa Parma. An absolutely A+ dining experience. From entrance to exit (last to walk out at closing time) the night was wonderful. We stumbled onto this gem hidden in a strip mall last night. It seems to be reservation only but we arrived late so all reservations had been filled. We were seated quickly. The atmosphere was very Italian American for sure. The waitress was wonderful with our wine bottle table service. The appetizers of fried ravioli was cooked perfectly. The fresh shredded parmesan topped everything off well. Main courses came out absolutely delicious. This is the best meal we've had on the island since moving here. We will return with others for sure. A must try while in the area. read more
