Overall the food was good. Fresh oysters, crispy calamari, well-seasoned seafood boil. Even though their crawfish and shrimp were both frozen (which is usually fine but I just like to know to adjust my own expectations), I couldn't really taste that much difference in the quality of the meat so was impressed. My favorite was actually their lobster bisque, so creamy and full of flavor! A few things I wish were different: -I called earlier the day to confirm a reservation at 7pm for 7 people. I wish our table was ready by the time we came. The restaurant itself wasn't that busy but I had to wait a bit just to speak with someone after we came in. Then they only just started cleaning our table and getting it ready. -While ordering, I asked if the shrimp were head-on and they said they were but we noticed they actually weren't when they came out. Still tasted good so didn't see the need to send it back but did want to mention it for others for future reference. Also for some reason, the crawfish to shrimp ratio for my boil was close to 3:1. Was hoping to get more of an equal distribution. -We were surprised by the 5-scallop appetizer costing $20. At first we thought we were mistaken but after checking the menu again we realized they didn't explicitly say how many scallops there would be. Jasmine was our server and she was super friendly and very patient with our indecisiveness. The restaurant is a very cute place with a quaint feel to it with older jazz and artists like Patsy Cline playing softly in the background. I was a little disappointed in the price/portion size of the grouper however another waitress brought me out an extra piece before I had a chance to say anything because she noticed when she walked by. It was super sweet of her to do that. My husband loved the clam chowder and my son devoured the Captains Choice (I think it was called.) The food was delicious.... This was one of my favorite spots a few years ago and for some reason I just stopped going. I am so glad I decided to go back and revisit! The grits are my favorite grits at a restaurant, I like them spicy. I had the Grouper Bowl with Fried Grouper and it was SO GOOD! We also got the Beachside fries spicy and they cooked fresh and perfect! My husband had the Grouper Platter Blackened and enjoyed every bite. Love dining in, they have a waitress to take your order and the service is great! Inside there are tables to stay cool in the summer heat! What a great meal! I had a low country boil with Lobster and Shrimp with spicy butter. WOW! It was plentiful and not terribly expensive. My husband had a bowl with rice and beans and shrimp - spicy and good. The hush puppies were hot and fresh and different with a remoulade sauce. Our server was very upbeat and professional. I have had my share of shrimp boils, and after having it here I have realized that all of the other places have overcooked my shrimp! Awesome place had some awesome food I ended up writing a review for the wrong place . My girlfriend and I came here and had some really good sea scallops, fries , crab cakes and crab legs . I travel FLA for work and love a good grouper sandwich. As I travel, I seek out a great grouper sandwich and have had hundreds over the years, but this was top 5. The fish was perfectly done. It's still juicy and tender, but it's done. The bun was toasted crispy on the flat top. Then, the tarter sauce was obviously made in-house with a bit of dill. Sooo good. The surprise was the coleslaw. It's not weighed down with too much mayo, but it has a nice tang. Again, definitely made in-house. Service was promt and not overbearing. Food came out timely, and everything was hot. I don't repeat visits in my travels often, since FLA has so many great restaurants, but I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more

Stopped here for a light dinner after a day on the beach. We chose a table outside as the weather was so enjoyable. We ordered a dozen raw oysters, blackened mahi bites and a pound of peel & eat shrimp with a side of garlic rice . The oysters were fresh and had a nice mild flavor to them. The blackened mahi bites were the star of the meal. They were perfectly seasoned and came with a side of a cilantro crema type of sauce. The peel & eat shrimp was dusted with old bay seasoning. I think they were slightly over cooked and wish they had deveined the shrimp. We asked for a side of butter & spicy butter to give the shrimps some life. The garlic rice was also very tasty and paired well with the mahi bites. I'm not sure if I would come back again as I'm not a local and would want to try other seafood restaurants on my next trip to Melbourne. The Bang Bang Shrimp (only 5 shrimp!) were coated (or drenched) in so much sauce it was hard to taste the shrimp. The grouper sandwiches were just OK. The cuts of fish were thin and we could not really be sure if it was grouper or perhaps the fish was previously frozen. The service was just OK, for a restaurant was not very busy. I searched Yelp for nearby restaurants and almost all the seafood places were closed on a Sunday afternoon but Beachside Seafood was open so I thought I'd give the a try. They were great... I was greeted with a friendly hello by Emily who turned out to be my server. The restaurant seemed clean and orderly and there were 3 or 4 other tables being served at 2 PM on a Sunday. I scanned the menu and was going to order the "hand battered" fish & chips but then spotted the Low Country Boil section. I hadn't had any LCB in a good while so I went with the Shrimp & Scallops with Andouille sausage boil and the spicy option. The presentation was very good and the portion was generous. I know I was hungry but dang that was good. One of the best Low Country Boils I've ever had. I had to try out their homemade Key Lime Pie and that was just as good as the entree. My wife and I were looking for a seafood restaurant we could bring our Chihuahua to on our way to Patrick SFB. I called to double check and the person on the phone confirmed. So Beachside Seafood was chosen. The outside dining area sure ain't fancy. Painted picnic tables were shaded by hanging tarps rather than individual umbrellas. But it was fine. The was a nice breeze coming off the beach, which was just across A1A made it very comfortable. We had white sangria, fried calamari, and two bowls, one grouper and one shrimp. We were impressed. The sangria was light and refreshing. The calamari with banana pepper rings was served with some of the best marinara I've had. And the bowls were delicious, especially my wife's grouper. I want to give a better review of this restaurant. I just cannot. The ambiance has so much potential, however with music blaring from the 50's and 60's and a sprinkle of the 70's they lose a star and additional business. I eat out everyday and would probably come here at least every other week. Instead I come about once a month. This restaurant could be a solid 4 and maybe a 5 for the immediate area. From what I understand the owner will not change the music even though she doesn't live here. Too bad. Upon arrival we were glad to see the restaurant was very busy, this means the food is typically good! Inside is a smaller dining area with roughly15 tables? All the tables were full upon our arrival we had to wait, which we were fine with. Once our table was ready we sat down and looked over the menu. We waited quite a while to put in our drink order. We then ordered the smoked Mahi dip. The dip was great! All of our crackers though were broken. I then ordered the lobster and shrimp boil. Now please know, we live in Florida and visit crab boil restaurants frequently. Typically the boils come out I. Their steamed bags, so I was a little disappointed when it came out on the plate. I was really looking forward to the lobster tail but unfortunately it was over cooked and chewy. The sausage was also over cooked and very dry. Overall a very solid seafood option in Melbourne/Satellite Beach. Ordered takeout so can't speaking to the ambiance, but my pick up order was quick and ready on time. I got the Cajun Shrimp and Crawfish, it was an alright sized portion, perfect for lunch but probably not enough for dinner. The crawfish were frozen not fresh despite it being crawfish season, but they still tasted alright. Got the spicy garlic butter seasoning on my seafood, it wasn't spicy but it tasted good. I also ordered the beachside fries but I would pass on that. Fries didn't taste fresh and it was a huge greasy mess, basically a half inch of grease/oil on the bottom of the container, all the fries were soggy with grease, not appetizing at all.
