The service was amazing! George reminded us of the waiters in Paris, who take their job seriously and absolutely love what they do. The pesto dipping sauce is incredible with the warm, crusty bread. Try not to eat much though because you really want to save room for the incredible meal you are about to be served. (Plus, you can buy a jar of the homemade pesto and bring it home, yay!!!) Your meal comes with soup or a salad. I had the pasta fagioli which was made with chickpeas instead of pinto beans. What a marvelous switch! It was so much brighter than the traditional. My husband had the salad. We recommend you ask for the dressing on the side. Main entrees, I had the steak Diane. Wow! The steak cut like butter. It was the most tender piece of meat I have ever had. My husband had the seafood pasta with pomodoro sauce. It was extremely fresh and the seafood was cooked perfectly. A hidden gem in a small jewelry box--this is the best way to describe Scott's on Fifth. We have passed by this restaurant many times and did not know this treasure existed. A little note: enter via the parking lot for a beautiful entry to a lovely experience. The inside decor transports you to a quaint little restaurant in Europe. The food? Wow! The food was amazing. We had the escargot, my husband had the gazpacho soup, which I tasted and we both loved. Our entrees and desserts were just as delectable. My husband is a big foodie snob, and it is very difficult to please him, but he enjoyed this birthday celebration at Scott's. To us, the servers make or break the experience, and we had a very nice gentleman, Charles Eduard, attend to us. He made us feel right at home instantaneously. The other two servers were amazing as well. We met the artist Scott in his kitchen, and he was also very friendly. Oh! And don't forget your phone when you go to the restroom. We went here to celebrate a birthday. The service was terrible from beginning to end! We had a reservation but still had to wait 45 minutes for our table and no one ever came by to see if we wanted something to drink while we waited. Then for the rest of the meal, there was an average 15 minute wait on everything the server did. Dinner itself was another 45 minute wait. I felt like we were being held hostage. We were there for 3-1/2 hours. And unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. I ordered the seafood pasta. The crab meat was actually cold and the shrimp overcooked. My friend got the steak diane which she said was okay but nothing special. From looking at the reviews, it looks like this place was once very good but is hit or miss these days. Whenever I'm In Florida it's usually a special occasion for my family which this week it was. I was visiting my family for my father's birthday and decided to bring him here for his 70th birthday. The other reviews did not disappoint!! The place was absolutely amazing, fantastic ambiance, from being greeted at the door to finishing our meal everything was fabulous. Scott the owner heard it was my dads birthday and personally came out to make sure everything was great. Our server George was attentive caring pleasant and wonderful!! 10/10 would recommend either for a special occasion or just a nice night out to eat!!! read more

Scott did amazing once again. Had a bottle of petite Syrah decanted before we arrived. Started with the mussels with that tangy broth and made great for dipping bread. Of course, you have to get the pesto with the bread service, which happens to be available by the pint to go. I chose the steak Diane, which was amazing: 2 tournedos of beef tenderloin with that savory diane sauce accompanied with a vegetable medley, and those awesome garlic potatoes. Beef is cooked a perfect medium rare. I was trying to save room dessert but it never happens. Apparently our table wasn't appreciated by all the guests and a couple left and made sure to let Scott know that our behavior was over the top apparently. Scott comes out of the kitchen and tells us that was the first time that happened and he gladly didn't charge them if they would kindly go. Really, my only criticism, was hanging dust on the ceiling which was adorned with all kinds on hanging glitter and gems. Don't look at the ceiling and enjoy a wonderful dinner. Someone please tell the owner about the smell! From the moment I opened the front door. The smell of sewer. Yuck. I was persuaded to be positive, so we stayed. I really had a hard time concentrating on the ambiance with the smell. I bet the waitress thought I was a grumpy guy with an attitude. She was fabulous, Kaylee I think was her name. Great service. Appetizer started with a play on nachos with tuna and shrimp. Good. Salad was enjoyed by all. Grouper looked fabulous, white, flakey topped with shrimp. Good. I had filet. Cooked medium rare. Fabulous. Chocolate espresso brownie for desert. Overall, a very good meal. Honestly, I don't know what we paid, I'll bet it was a little expensive, and if it wasn't for the smell, maybe it would have been ok. But please, someone do something about the smell! It's obviously not a new thing, look at reviews. Something is up. And it makes you wonder about the sanitation. I guess I'll find out over the next few hours and days. Would I return. I don't know, if I'm invited. There are plenty of other Resturants around that I know are nicer inside. I mean it's cute. But it looks like it's been the same for many years. Don't just judge by what's listed on their menu because Scott offers a lot of specials. Every single item I've ever had has been fresh and soo yummy. Their pest appetizer is one of my favorites. The decor in the restaurant seems eclectic but if you take the time to ask, there's typically a story behind every item making it interesting. This place is absolutely amazing! I can't believe I found such a gem in Melbourne. In town for business and my customer couldn't join us for dinner but recommended this place. Everything is home made and outstanding. I had the hunan meatballs which were tremendous with a unique sauce that was delectable. Also splurged on the angel hair pasta with bolognese made with filet. Perhaps most impressive was the bread. I'm not sure if it's homemade, but it was every bit as hearty, hot with charred crust and doughy interior was every bit as good as the Italian bread from south Philly. The deserts was all home made and delicious. The homemade coconut ice cream with shaved toasted coconut, vanilla Sunday with crushed Oreo and key lime pie were all tremendous. Easily the best restaurant in Brevard, and run by the kindest souls in the state. The venue itself is intimate and just full of charm. We visited around Christmas time and it was very elegantly decorated for the holidays. Scott's is as classy as it gets. We were greeted promptly and warmly by our server Pepper. The service at Scott's is a cut above any other restaurant- thorough and attentive while managing to be remarkably unobtrusive. A true testament to artful service. We started with the pan fried provolone- a tantalizing and generous hunk of melted provolone with a vibrant pomodoro sauce, as well as a bowl of the world famous crab bisque. Anyone who has been to Scott's know that the crab bisque is an essential part of the experience- deep and complex in its flavor, you will find it hard to have only one bowl. I had the bone-in veal chop and it was divine. It arrived at the table cooked exactly to my specification. The quality of the veal itself was remarkable, the flavor imparted by the grill and the wonderful porcini sauce will have me daydreaming for months. My wife had the picatta, and my mother had the stuffed snapper, I'm salivating now just thinking of both. The snapper was so fresh, cooked to absolute perfection. After the seemingly endless waves of mouth watering dishes, they will tempt you with dessert. Though you'll be stuffed at this point, under no circumstances should you turn down dessert. Go for the "Polynesian Dream", a few generous scoops of homemade coconut ice cream topped with a blissful warm pineapple-brown sugar-rum sauce. You will be glad you did. Scott's on Fifth- Indialantic- 3.5 Stars After being slightly let down on the entree my last visit to Scott's on Fifth, I returned to give one of our local celebrity chefs a chance to redeem himself. Upon entering the place looked the same as the last time I was here. The panorama of potent potables stuck cork side down lining the wall behind the mixology station brought a slight tear to my eye. To just sit here and taste those for a few hours is cause for another visit in and by itself. Returning to the mission at hand, after being seated and given ample time to go over the menu, our table was approached by the kind of server one can expect in your fine dining establishments. Iman was top notch all the way and was exceedingly knowledgeable about the day's offerings. I asked Iman if he could please bring me an order of Escargot to start, a Caesar salad and for the entree, I requested one of the evening's specials, the bone in Veal Chop with a reduced demi-glace accompanied by a cup of fresh Gazpacho. Within a reasonable amount of time, Iman was soon seen returning with our mouthwatering morsels fresh from Chef Scott's kitchen. As one can see by the pictures, Chef Scott continues to wow diners with the presentation as each dish was a work of art in its own right. Beginning with the appetizer, the Escargot was the right place to start as it was one of the best I have had. The snails were lovingly brushed in fresh garlic butter, placed snugly in their baking dishes and baked in the French manner. Finally, a great dish of Escargot! The Gazpacho was unlike any I have previously enjoyed as it had a depth and complexity of flavor unparalleled in the world of chilled soups. Everything was fresh, succulent and melded together as smoothly as if Spock had mind melded everything into one. The Caesar salad was on par with the Escargot and Gazpacho as it was also extraordinary. The made to order dressing contained extra anchovies making it some of, if not the best, Caesar salad dressing I have partaken of to date. So far, Chef Scott has lived up to expectations and everything was out of this world. However, this was also the case on my previous visit. The appetizer and the sides were exemplary, the entree not so much. Putting that experience out of mind, I turned my appetite toward the entree and proceeded to taste away. Let us begin with the reduced demi-glace. This was exceptional. Obviously, Chef Scott makes his own stock in-house as the sauce had an intricacy of flavor one only finds in freshly made stock. The sauce, with this kind of beginning, only got better as it was reduced while sections of unsalted butter were whisked in by a saucier on the top of their game. Plated lovingly atop this bed of scrumptious sauce sat a bone in Veal Chop that looked like it was going to be amazing on the palate. Sadly, once again, I was slightly let down by my choice of entree. While it was cooked to a James Beard approved medium-rare, it was either not USDA Prime or it was old as I found it almost impossible to cut and chew. The veggies de jour and red bliss potatoes alongside were to die for. The veggies were roasted and seasoned with obvious care and lent a nice addition to the flavor of the demi-glace. The mashed garlic red bliss potatoes were fresh, creamy, riced and had just the right amount of garlic to be pleasant on the palate without leaving an overpowering aftertaste in the mouth. With flawlessly executed apps and sides, my slight dislike of aspects of the entree must be on me. I can't for the life of me figure out how I could miss, but apparently, miss I did. Twice. Chef Scott is well known and highly respected in the state and rightly so. His menu is intriguing, adventurous and complex without being intimidating for the novice fine diner. His staff is on par with the finest eateries in the world, and so I am perplexed, loyal Biggie (dedicated Big Boy Dining Out fan). How could I be batting 0-2 on entrees? It seems I must go into the breach once more! Had dinner here the other night and I really enjoyed the quality of service they offer. To start I enjoyed their asian inspired soup. It was simple, tasty, with a touch of heat sealed the deal for me. The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked and very tasty. I found the sauce it was paired with to be the weak link of this dish. Dessert was their old fashioned sundae which was very good. Dessert seemed limited to too many ice cream dished though. It would have been nice to see some baked goods. I feel really bad doing this, but I do not want anyone to have to experience what we did. The wait staff was very kind and helpful, and I wish them the best. However, the meal my family and I had at Scott's on Fifth was a nightmare. We walked into the restaurant and were immediately inundated with sensory overload. The music was SOOO loud we could not hear anyone on the opposite end of the table. Then there was the smell... At first it just smelled like a barn. However, after sitting there for five minutes the smell of feces just got worse and worse. Normally, people would've exited the restaurant but my family stayed strong in hopes the food was worth it. Cut to us getting various appetizers. They were okay tasting, but they were covered in glitter... I said weird but okay. Then I realized EVERYTHING was covered in glitter! Still not sure what that was about. We got our food in a timely manner, but as one of our plates was brought out, we were attacked by a new horrible scent. One of the steaks, a large bone-in ribeye, smelled like a soiled bathroom. One bite of the steak was eaten before it was immediately spat back out - rancid meat. They replaced the item, no questions asked. However, I was surprised the chef didn't come talk to us as I had seen him speak to other tables. Anyways, the price of the food was definitely not worth the experience. I sincerely hope this was just a cluster of bad coincidences hitting my family that was celebrating an event at once, but if it is not I hope someone else will speak up or leave as my family did not. I am giving it a 2 star because for the price and quality of the food. The fish dishes were wierd tasting and the mashed potatoes had an odd flavor that we didnt eat. They had one server for about 7 tables and bar because the other server walked out, ha ha only in Florida would that seem not so odd. The men liked the beef dishes. I'll start out saying Scott's On Fifth was one of my favorite local restaurants. It's one of the very few places in the area that consistently has both fantastic food and top notch service. You can count on fresh, creatively prepared seafood (and more), and servers that make you and your party feel not only well cared for, but genuinely valued. Unfortunately, after years of patronage to mark special occasions or dates-to-impress at Scott's, tonight's visit was so bad that I'm still in disbelief. Earlier, my girlfriend and I stopped in for a nice evening of cocktails and a small bite. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was extremely pleasant and serving their always-fantastic martinis. But not long into our first drink, my (difficult to rattle) girlfriend was visibly upset. Shockingly, the two men sitting at the entranceway table were denigrating her physical appearance - discussing the size of her breasts, and remarking how they'd, "Get lost in them". My gut reaction was no way, but the mortification written all over her face left no doubt. Shortly after she explained what'd happened, one of the men (who I thought was a host, but apparently is a part owner?!!) stepped over to the bar for something, and while across from us, cheerfully asked how our evening was. I answered that it'd been fantastic... up until the point when he decided to discuss my girlfriend's breasts within her earshot. Quite sadly, his oh-God-you-heard-that!? response was to deny saying anything. Which may be true... perhaps he was only agreeing with his table mate's appalling commentary. Either way, no apology, just a quick retreat to his table where he muttered something to the other man who responded with an, "Oh well". Either it still didn't register that she could hear them, or they Just Didn't Care. I understand making mistakes, and saying inappropriate things. However, an establishment owner not only feeling entitled to discuss his patron's breasts while sitting a few feet behind her, but to display not the slightest bit of remorse when it's brought to his attention that it was loud enough to be heard, is classless and reprehensible. I've had revolting food, horrible service, and even both at once. But now, at the most unlikely of places - Scott's on Fifth, I've just had my worst restaurant experience. The saddest part... is that it was much worse for the beautiful woman sitting next to me. read more
