We went here after seeing a lobster Reuben on the menu. And it's right on the beach. There are multiple levels to the restaurant, and I think we dined on 2. The area was open and we were seated at a 4 top. I had a beer which was pretty good, and we both enjoyed the lobster reubens. The sandwich was big and had lots of the lobster meat mix. There was one other table and 2 kids were running around the dining area next to us, tho the table kept telling them to stop. It was a relief when they finally left. There's a path right to the beach at the back, which is great for sunset viewing. We drove about 20 miles from our hotel to dine here, and overall it was a good experience. read more

Sand on the Beach has been better each time we go. Three of us went on a Friday evening to go for some seafood. When we arrived, the bartender greeted us and let us know that we would be seated shortly. A lovely woman walked over asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs. We said downstairs, and she sat us. We ordered the calamari with jalapeño and it was very tasty and perfectly cooked. We then ordered shrimp quesadilla's which were the best I've had. They had great flavor and came with pico de gallo and sour cream. Great dish and overall, excellent experience while having a beautiful beach view. read more

Been there several times the past 2 months for breakfast. Don't recommend for breakfast. Small menu and you have to ask to have butter so you can butter YOUR own cold toast. Waitresses don't bring condiments to table or napkins. No fan's outside where you eat with the flies. You have to basically ask for everything (water, napkins, ketchup) they don't compare to Grille's. This place has been around along time and it's starting to show on the inside and out. read more

We were seated and our order was taken, but only half of our party's order was recorded before the server walked away without asking the others. We had to call her back to take the rest of the orders. Another server then spilled sauce on the floor and table, which splattered into someone's eyes and all over our clothes. Our main server didn't even ask if we were okay and seemed unconcerned about the situation. Service was very slow overall, and we repeatedly had to wave down the server for assistance. The food was tasty but overpriced. This location is not accessible. They have an elevator which worked on the way in but not on the way out. The elevator never came and didn't feel safe anyway. Had to help my disabled wife down a huge flight of stairs. If she had a wheelchair instead, she would have been stuck. read more

My wife and I ordered the lobster ravioli and the shrimp fra diavolo. We weren't disappointed. Both dishes came out hot and tasty. We also got a bucket of Bahama Mama. Plus a shot of peach schnapps. There are not many options for beach bars on that side of Melbourne Beach, and we love location and the views (also we love that we can bring our dogs on the first level). We come here every year when we are on vacation and years ago, I thought the food and drinks were amazing. However, for the past couple years, it's more of a tradition to go there rather than me truly enjoying the place. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular. The cocktails tasted ok, but felt very weak and didn't really give a buzz. I usually do one cocktail and have a few options I choose from, and Margarita is one of those cocktails that usually hits me harder, but after having one here, I didn't feel like I even had a drink. Other people at dinner felt the same way. Also, I know the prices are going up everywhere, but I found cocktails to be quite expensive compared to other places. For $15 at this place I would expect something fancier than a simple margarita. read more

Excellent service from DaMiley. (Loved your curls!) we grabbed two seats outside overlooking the beautiful ocean. (This was from June 2022-not sure why it never posted live??) My friend ordered a hamburger with bacon and cheese. I got the seared ahi tuna tacos And a cucumber crush cocktail. Nothing but a laid back relaxing experience here. The menu has a pretty big variety of seafood, salads and rice bowls. They also serve breakfast til 11. Today (10/2023) we went here just for drinks. It is a nice upstairs bar and good service again. This place was garbage. We decided to go there as our daughter was meeting friends a the beach. 15 minutes to get menus. My food came out 40 minutes after sitting there, my first and only drink came out 10 minutes after my food. Other tables that got there after us had their drinks and food way before us. The food and drinks were overpriced and not good at all. My tacos had red peppers all in them which I can't eat but no one came back around so I just didn't eat my food. There were two servers there that waited on us. One never spoke a word, just stood there not saying anything. She's also the one that brought the check. Again, just stood there, not one word. Loved it ! Great service very attentive servers, the ambience is beautiful. You're right on the beach and very comfortable seating. The food came out fairly fast around 20-30 minutes. The food overall was good. I got the breakfast basics and it was quite yummy, if you like gravy I would recommend adding it on the side. My friends got the burger, she mentioned it could use some more flavor but overall it was good. My other friend got the lobster soup it came out cold but the flavor was amazing once it was reheated! I was very excited for the keylime pie but it was way too sour for my liking. I hope to try the cheesecake next time I come read more

A group of four of us had lunch yesterday April 14th. Two of us were seated right away. We mentioned to waitress that two more would be joining shortly. For whatever reason we were given two menus. The other two friends joined us shortly and we passed the two menus between the four of us waiting for the waitress to return. We finally got up and found two more menus. It was a small thing but a little irritating. The service was scattered at best. With waitress had a condescending attitude on top of things. But main complaint was the Mahi Tacos I personally order. The two tacos that were serve looked nothing like the tacos pictured in the menu. The mahi was served on two tortillas shells with none of the usual taco fillings or anything else that might have gone with Mahi. The order was nothing but Mahi and the shells. I personally would would have been embarrassed to sit that down in front of someone. I was getting ready to try and find the waitress when a friend offered to share some of his playe when he saw what I had been served. I let the problem with size, portion and the lack of looking anything like tacos go instead of bringing it to the restaurant attention. We were all tired but I'm disappointed with myself for doing that. That order never should been what it was. I will never eat at Sand On the Beach again or suggest to anyone else that they should try the restaurant. read more

The taste and quality we experienced were quite good. Of course the menu prices seem to tax guests for the view... the quality of the mahi wrap and beach burger was 4/5 or better. They charged enough to include fries, but all sides are above and beyond menu pricing. Considering 5 ounces of fries costs the restaurant less than $.20. It reflects poorly. Service was good and we enjoyed our meal. The ice cold cocktails were tasty. I will return for sure! read more

As I sit at Meg O Malleys writing this review, I'll never go back to this place, immaculate views or not. I can get immaculate views of the beach anywhere around here, but as I tried to eat food there this evening they turned us away. Apparently the 10pm advertised close time means they close their kitchen well before 9pm. Honestly them turning us away well over an hour before close was a blessing in disguise because the place is a shack that serves drinks to people that reek of marijuana until they're piss drunk. Would not go back based on the sticky floors and stale beer smell. read more
