Sand on the Beach has been better each time we go. Three of us went on a Friday evening to go for some seafood. When we arrived, the bartender greeted us and let us know that we would be seated shortly. A lovely woman walked over asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs. We said downstairs, and she sat us. We ordered the calamari with jalapeño and it was very tasty and perfectly cooked. We then ordered shrimp quesadilla's which were the best I've had. They had great flavor and came with pico de gallo and sour cream. Great dish and overall, excellent experience while having a beautiful beach view.

Traveling south on A1A we stopped in for a beverage and the view. Little did we know, being a patron there's access to enjoy the beach as well. The bartenders were very nice and the beverages were tasty.

I come here often for brunch, lunch and dinner. Great location with amazing views of the beach. A place where locals and visitors come. When you enter you will find a bar and plenty of seating overlooking the beach. If its too warm out you can head upstairs where you can dine inside in the air-conditioned dining room. There is also outside seating. They have great raw oysters. Love the fish and chips. Love the lobster reuben Very good attentive service.

We were seated and our order was taken, but only half of our party's order was recorded before the server walked away without asking the others. We had to call her back to take the rest of the orders. Another server then spilled sauce on the floor and table, which splattered into someone's eyes and all over our clothes. Our main server didn't even ask if we were okay and seemed unconcerned about the situation. Service was very slow overall, and we repeatedly had to wave down the server for assistance. The food, however, was good.

Honestly, I was surprised this place only has a 3.0 rating. The food was great, the view was awesome, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Definitely an awesome spot.

The ambiance is perfection! Who wouldn't want to eat here with this view. Our server was friendly enough. I was disappointed in the plating of the tacos - downfalls of having a chef in the family. Tacos were tasty. The Parmesan fries were plain - garlic butter would have been awesome. The tuna medallions were very tasty but the grits were just plain. The oysters could have been shucked better. Not in pieces- whole oysters please!

This place is right on the beach. Outdoor seating. The cheesy grits were great. The Parmesan fries are crisp and delicious. The wings were tasty. It's a little pricey for bar food but you also get the sand, the sun, and the sea plus nice staff.

Views=5 stars Food=3 stars Sand on the Beach has an awesome upstairs seating area, where all of the seats directly face the ocean. This is a perfect place to come enjoy some drinks and the view. We had lunch downstairs, and the food is very average. The tuna wrap seemed to be missing the mango aioli, and the side of arugula was not dressed; I'm not sure who eats raw arugula with no dressing. The onion rings were pretty good. Service was fine--not overly friendly, but fine. Overall, come for drinks and views, and skip the food.

Ducked in with the family for a a happy birthday party and it was a fine time, here's why: * Excellent location, sat right on the beach. * Free parking, but spots are kind of limited, so be advised. * Well staffed, at least while I was there. Excellent service from Francesca! * Pretty good food, loved the Quesadillas and the garlic parmesan wings!!! Chef kiss! * Excellent view. Patrons go to the beach through the spot. * Excellent older aesthetic to the joint that resonates. I like the vibe. * Downstairs no A/C, upstairs has A/C, and may be a bikini bar? I must return. * Appropriately priced drinks. Good stuff, see you there! I need to possibly add them to my food tour operation. Cabeza OUT!

This one is difficult. If we rate just the food, which we generally do, it is 5-stars. Fantastic…read morefood. Everything else was certainly noteworthy. Here is how it went down. We arrive on time for our reservation. We are greeted, if that's what you want to call it, by a tall older man. I swear he looked at us like, can you really afford to eat here? So the initial interaction was rather poor. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so maybe he just had a bad day. Yeah, apparently not. The place is very pretty and certainly airs of a higher end establishment. After Mr. Snooty took us to our table, we were greeted by, ready for this, and even more snooty lady. Think Mrs. Howell. It's kind of like going on a date with a psychiatrist, knowing that they are judging every word that's coming out of your mouth. Lol. So after getting a lay of the land from her, we ordered some drinks, which were fantastic. Then the first course came and it was fabulous. We had the escargot and the oysters Rockefeller. Yum. The Escargot was buttery and soft. The oysters were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We tried a lobster bisque and it was so so good. The touch of sherry was perfect. As for the Caesar's salad, this was the star of the evening. It was one of the best I've had and is what a Caesar salad should taste like. I am seriously considering going back there just for that salad. For dinner my wife had a lobster tail. She reports it was excellent. The snooty lady wanted me to try some special they had, but I went for the lamb chops. Again, perfect, medium rare. Winner. Snooty lady went uber obnoxious snooty after I didn't pick her choice. I was scared for the rest of the night. Overall price to food value, negative 100 billion. Food was fantastic. $250 for the portion sizes not worth it. Then again, even if they were bigger, not worth the price. Like I said, go for the salad and pass on the rest. Make you car payment and go to a more reasonably priced place that won't treat you like you need to have a credit report or occupation that they might approve of. Oh and they had some nice live music. That was good. Too bad, the staff put a damper on the birthday dinner.

The entire experience was substandard with one exception; the cocktails were superb. But that's…read morewhere it ended. First, our server Michael was the least skilled of any I have been in contact with over my 69 years. He showed no interest in us, had no personality, acted indifferent, and was borderline rude. He constantly reached in front of me without the courtesy of "excuse me". He didn't bother to come back to the table after serving our entree and inquire how the food was. For that matter, we never saw a manager the 2.5 hours we were there. Second, while the appetizers came in a reasonable time, the entrees took over 45 minutes to arrive. Michael apologized once and said they were plating our dishes only to return 15 minutes later. This was likely not his fault but D'Jon's had an opportunity to make it right with us but did nothing. I had had to tell Michael a second time that "this wait wasn't working for me". Third, I don't mind paying a premium price when receiving value. That is not available at this establishment. The portion size of the Tomato Salad was laughable. As was our search to find the Salmon in the seafood pasta evening special. Typically we give a business a second chance knowing that everyone has a bad day. With everything that went wrong, we will not return. The service, the food, and the wait were a complete let-down.

This cute bar/grille has an ocean view no matter where you are sitting. There's even some tables on the beach itself if you wanna take off your shoes and sit a spell. Our waitress was helpful and lively. And the food was surprisingly amazing! We only had nachos and drinks because we didn't want to ruin dinner later. But I watched as people Ordered these sky high smash burgers. They looked so damn good! I also zoomed in and took a photo of another persons wings.. they should be called "wangz" because they're so huge! Decent beach bar, but a little too kid-friendly for my taste…read more I came here hoping for dinner on the water, good music, the sound of the ocean, and maybe some friendly conversation with the locals. Instead, one of the main seating areas was partially taken over by strollers, toys, and other kid gear. I understand that restaurants can't control every family that visits, but the overall atmosphere felt more like a playground than a relaxing waterfront dining spot. To the staff's credit, my server was kind enough to move some of the strollers and toys so I could get a seat. Unfortunately, it had just rained and the chairs were still soaked. While I appreciated her making room for me, it would have been nice if someone had also taken a moment to wipe down the seat before it was offered to me. Instead, I had the unpleasant experience of sitting in a sopping wet chair and spent my evening here with a soggy backside, which definitely put a damper on the experience... Pun intended. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was good, although I was a little surprised to receive it in a plastic cup. Maybe that's standard here, but it wasn't what I expected. For dinner, I tried the mahi tacos after seeing them mentioned in several reviews. The fish itself was good, but the tacos were absolutely covered in sauce, to the point that it drowned out the taste of everything else. Also, thatsynot what they looked like on the reviews I saw. If I knew they would have so much sauce (or any sauce actually) I would ordered it on the side. I ended up removing most of the sauce-drenched toppings just to taste the fish. I also requested a side salad and was told the only option available for a side salad was a Caesar... despite several salads being listed on the menu. I guess it was too hard to toss some salad greens into a bowl with a side if vinaigrette The parking situation is also very confusing. All the spaces indicate that parking is for guests and there is signage along the fence threatening to tow anyone who parks along the fence. I had to call the restaurant to confirm where guests could park (along the fence, as long as it is not overnight or just to go to the beach) and fortunately my car was still there when I returned from dinner. Overall, the food was decent and the waterfront location is nice. If you're looking for a casual, family-friendly beach bar, this may be a fit. However, if you're hoping for a quieter place to unwind after work or enjoy a peaceful dinner by the water, you definitely want to look elsewhere.
