Just as Villa Park is known as "the Hidden Jewel" so is Villa Park Pharmacy one of its most valuable gems. Hardly ever a long line, with many supplies like packing tape, pens, ample counter space, slips all at the ready to help you ship your packages and mail with ease. The pharmacy next door doesn't have a lot of sundries or drugstore type items in their inventory, but their pharmacy counter is brisk and efficient. The gift shop is well-stocked with seasonal gift items and a mini-Hallmark/Papyrus card shop. Truly a one-stop shop for many of your errands! read more

Typically, I love supporting local businesses but not in this case. This place takes advantage of the fact they are in a nice neighborhood with a number of elderly people. I went in recently to pick up a full-price prescription for my mother and was charged $200 over what the major pharmacies wanted for the medication. I asked them about price matching and they refused. I then presented them with a valid manufacturers coupon that would have allowed my elderly mother a small discount. After telling me they would check into it, I was then told it was not valid in California. I pointed out that the coupon itself states it IS valid in California if we pay list price (which we do), they held their ground and refused to honor the coupon or provide any discount. Most of their personnel are at least friendly with the exception of Celeste who is frequently rude, especially if you ask her to do work of any kind. She acts like she is doing you a favor if you ask her to contact a doctor or follow-up on a prescription. This is not the level of customer service I would expect from a pharmacy charging over market prices. It is disappointing to see a neighborhood institution take advantage of their residents in this manner. Shame on them. read more

This is so convenient to all in the Villa Park/North Orange area. It was a great little pharmacy with amazing staff. There is a fabulous post office inside that can ship or send anything you need (you can buy stamps too). There is the most fun craft and shopping area in the front of the store that has the most creative and unique Iran's that go with every season, holiday and occasion. Such a gem. read more

I wish I could give more stars!! Although I have never used this pharmacy, this review is for the little gift shop attached to the business. This is the best hidden gem in Orange County. There used to be a few cute boutiques but over the years they have gone out of business... so sad. I am so happy that this one is like a little secret tucked away in the pharmacy along with a little post office. The prices are super affordable and they carry everything from a small hostess gift, to a baby, bridal or just because present. The selection is always impressive and not the same ol same ol. Cute dish towels, jewlery, baby items, specialty glasswear, holiday items and sitabouts. Everything is darling!!! They also sell stamps, lotto tickets and do gift wrapping. I came in to mail a package. They were still open, but closing in a few minutes and refused to mail my package. Sent me away to drive over to a different post office 4 miles away. This is for the post office. I walked in with a pre-paid package to drop off. As soon as I entered the gift shop area of the pharmacy, someone caught me and said their scale wasn't working. I let them know it was prepaid and I just needed to drop it off. So I head to the back and I'm told "We actually don't take those, but I'll take it this time". HUH?!?!??!? I appreciate you helping me out by taking my prepaid package, but your website states the following: "Avoid the long lines that you find at the USPS Offices, and come into our community pharmacy contract station. We offer all national USPS services, and international letter shipping services" I give 2 stars because everyone was friendly and they did help me. I was so taken aback by the fact they told me they don't normally take packages that I didn't even look at anything else in the store which was crammed pack of fun stuff! I might go back later, but I won't utilize that post office for fear they might not be able to help me. read more

They are always super helpful both in the pharmacy and post office. You can't do Amazon qr returns here but there is a ups right next door. Lines are always super short here! And they have the cutest gift shop. read more

Thank you for my home town no bs VP Pharmacy You never no what can happen when your "big drug store" .....cvs.....pharmacy decides to string you along for days and then has no resolution...For years I was a CVS guy, until I needed help refilling a prescription that was out of stock. CVS sent me a text saying we are out of stock but will be refilled soon. Soon turned into 2 days, then 5 days, then 7 days...When I was getting down to my last few dosages I grew concerned as you can't just stop this med cold turkey...called cvs and the usual happy crew at the Anaheim Hills location decided to blow me off with we can't help....tough...au revoir...don't care...u r on ur own...I have been going to this cvs for 24 years...I guess when they heard the med I was calling about they knew it was an issue and decided to cut me off before asking questions...zero compassion for a med that because I have taken for years can cause some terrible cold turkey side effects..I know poor me ....cvs literally blew me off...and to add insult to injury it was by cvs staff that I laughed and chatted with when picking up meds..the cvs staff called me by my first name...we were friends or so I thought we were...ENTER CELESTE AT VP PHARMACY...Told her my situation...She explained that yes the med is hard to come by...She asked if I have ever used VP Pharmacy before...I told her no but my parents have lived in Villa Park for nearly 30 years and my late father used them in the past...I currently am a caregiver for my mom in her VP residence. Celeste could of told me cya later bum....but she did not. She put me on hold and got back on with me..Told me to my get doc to send a new prescription and they will fill it! I was nearly in tears that someone would help out a fellow human in such a way...Celeste you are a life saver...Celeste you take your job seriously and it shows...You listened to a customer and you helped...Needless to say moms and my prescriptions are going to my new small town pharmacy! read more

I just moved recently back to the OC area after many years away. I remember coming here ever since I could remember since I was a tot. Brought back many memories. I came in a couple of days ago to refill a prescription, and totally forgot that it would be more than I normally pay, since it is the beginning of the year. It came out to over $600, and I completely but calmly freaked out, and inquired as to why it was way over what I would pay, and that's with my insurance. They also felt that it was shockingly high, and they decided to do a little online research to find a coupon or something to bring the cost down. Low and behold they found a co-pay program voucher from the pharmaceutical company. In the end, I ended up paying just $5.00 for it. What a pleasant shock that was!!! The fact that they took the time to find this for me spoke volumes. I am more than pleased with their service, and I will definitely return and recommend them. read more

Friendly service, never more than 1 person in line in front of you, extremely convenient and there is a supermarket and a post office within walking distance. This is now my preferred pharmacy because they make everything so easy! I had issues with my insurance and there was a delay in getting approved for my medication (blood pressure / cholesterol) and the pharmacist actually cared about by well being and covered me a couple days until my insurance kicked in. My gripe is not with the pharmacy but rather the post office. I understand people have bad days and as a result, take their stress out on their customers, but i've experienced bad service with Bettie, the owner of this particular post office, three times. THREE TIMES. I let the first two slide because I know what kind of stress the post office employees go through, but on the 3rd strike, I can't hold it anymore. She is extremely sarcastic and plays with the limit of "acceptable remarks/voice tone". She flirts with what can be said and accepted. She's quite a smart lady because she knows if she goes beyond those boundaries, she'll get in trouble-so she stays within her limits to play it safe and gets away with her comments. I'll provide two examples: 1) I was a minute late when she was closing up, and she said, "we're closed!" I responded, "Oh really?" She says a cold reply, "yeah really". Is this really necessary? To respond the way she did? I'm trying to stay objective here. 2) She expressed her unhappiness when i purchased two stamps with my credit card. Now if she said it in a way where I felt comfortable about what she was saying, it's ok.. But she was downright condescending and made me feel like i'm less human because i didnt' have cash. I've waited about 2 weeks to write this because I didn't want to write out of anger, but rather take a objective point of view. Take it for what it's worth as it is only my experience with her. I've used many other pharmacies, but Villa Park Pharmacy is by far the best. Not only are they in my neighborhood for convenience, but their staff is awesome. They make refilling my monthly prescriptions an easy process. I call them, and I can pick up my prescription that same day. A great hidden Post Office hidden within this location; perfect during rush-hour when you want to dodge the shady crowd at the main Tustin Street branch. I love that Bettie at the Post Office here "got to" someone else on Yelp. She has an amazing knack for that, but she means well (I know that doesn't make any sense). You've just got to be as sharp-tongued and quick-witted as she is, in order to keep up with her. It's scary at first, because she's an older gal, but don't let that stop you... or think that she'll have mercy on you, either - she's awesome like that! Truly though, know that under that hard shell is a nice person and a really funny character who really cares about Villa Park and likes to converse with the people that come into this location. While she may never break your $20 bill for some stamps, she will listen to you gripe about the BS in your day better than most bartenders at a good whiskey bar. It took me a while to find this out, and at first, I too wanted to file a complaint because I was getting some off-color remarks from her every now and then... but after I figured out she can take it right back, I didn't hesitate and dug right back into her... it was all in good fun. She still mailed my packages and provided a great convenience to me, as I used to live right down the road. I wish that the soda fountain was still located in this drug store, but as I grew up, I moved on to Wayne's Liquor in the same plaza lol. Quick tips for the Post Office: go in a few minutes before closing as they start getting in the groove early on, bring cash and small bills... if you don't have small bills, change them with one of the kids at the register in front. Oh, and don't forget to pick up your "pills," this is a pharmacy after all. read more

I adore this pharmacy! Old school service. Never a wait. Became an convert after CVS, Walmart and Vons were all out of a medicine I needed, but this little gem had it. I love the little store/pharmacy/post office. It is so quaint and so convenient. But the service is lacking. I can't tell you how many times I have walked through the front door to never be greeted. The girl says nothing or she is texting while sitting behind the desk. The postal lady is hit and miss. Sometimes nice, sometimes not. Twice I have ask to speak to the manager to complain about the young lady behind the desk who never greets but is texting. The manager was not there both times, supposedly. read more

Wow, the post office personnel here is terribly rude. I understand the main employee is an old lady, but if she hates customers why is she working for a public service station? She gave me a hard time for not having a package needed to ship a return product ahead of time, even though they only sell them at the counter. She almost refused to help me even after I waited in line and was happy to pay for the package. She literally told me she's "too busy to deal with me now." Last time I checked the post office was a mailing/shipping service for everyone. I'll pay the $10 to FedEx next time. No wonder USPS is going out of business... read more

They told me last night they could fill my prescription after an array of questions. Said "oh I just need to confirm with your doctor some icd9 code. About a year ago, I changed from CVS to Villa Park pharmacy after learning that it had reopened with a new pharmacist. The service is outstanding and it has that small town pharmacy feel, with the backing of a large pharmacy (Good Neighbor Pharmacy). The personnel who work at the counter (Sarah and Victoria) are extremely nice and work hard to get your prescriptions approved and filled quickly. If it anytime they don't have a certain medication, they go and get it from another pharmacy instead of making you wait like CVS. I am thrilled to have Dr. Bollenbach as my pharmacist. He cares about the patient and gives the patients the ability to choose the maker of their prescription medication. The prescriptions are completed promptly and there is good communication between the staff and the patient. Overall, I am extremely happy. Also, I have no idea why someone would write a negative review about a pharmacy, but only include the mail kiosk. read more

I love this pharmacy and the staff. Between myself and my children I visit 4-5 times per month. They are always very friendly. They know me and my kids by name. If I have any questions, I always know I can call and get my question answered quickly. I previously was a customer of a big chain but after my initial encounter at VP pharmacy, I transferred all my prescriptions to them and if I ever move out of the area I will definitely seek out a small pharmacy because of my experience with VP pharmacy. read more
