Lomo Saltado
Michael T.

We came mid afternoon, it took a few minutes to get seated. Juan, our server was awesome, attentive and professional. We had a great steak starter to share and my wife had aji de gallina and I had Lomo Saltado. Both were excellent but the steak starter was a little salty. The seating was comfortable and the place is big but cozy. Nice place and we will certainly be back. We both had lunch sized portions but as you can see they're both a full meal. Lovely place

Excited for Anticucho!
Trevor C.

Peruvian food here is absolutely amazing! I especially love their Anticucho--it's hard to find in Tucson, and they cook it to perfection. The restaurant also has live music, wonderful friendly staff, and excellent service. The atmosphere is beautiful and vibrant, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Peruvian cuisine and a great dining experience.

We went to the bar and we had an appetizer and pisco sours. Drinks are delicious. Great service and atmosphere.

Great ambiance, very classy. Our server, Sebastian, was super attentive and amazing! The ceviche definitely lived up the reputation; if you like very lime-y ceviche, it's for you!

Arroz con Pato

This was my second visit in the past month, and while I was pleased with the service, food, and ambiance overall, there were several issues each time. One of my guests ordered the Peruvian paella and was disappointed to find that, despite the menu listing octopus, none was included. When we brought this to the attention of the staff and owner, they did bring out a separate bowl of octopus, which we appreciated. My wife was unhappy with her Lomo Saltado during this visit noting that it was too salty and served at a lukewarm temperature. The ceviche was just okay, and the Pisco Sour was also average. My guests were happy with the Aji de Gallina and I was pleased with my dish, arroz con pato. Considering the higher price point, I would expect better consistency and higher quality across the dishes. Additionally, they had run out of both Pollo a la Brasa and Picarones. It took about 20 minutes for them to inform us that the Picarones were unavailable. They had also run out of Negra Modelo, although they did obtain more later. This gesture was appreciated. Overall, while there were still positive aspects, the experience did not fully meet expectations for the price.

Peruvian Lobster Roll

Went to Villa Peru during the Lobster Festival. When you first pull up they have plenty of parking in a shopping strip next to several other restaurants. They have bar seating, indoor tables, a large private party room, and outdoor patio seating. I have to give this restaurant 2 stars primarily for the food and service. Overall, the prices were high and the food/service was just average. The server never once asked about drink refills. The lobster roll did not actually include much lobster and the molten lava cake dessert was disappointing. There was no molten chocolate whatsoever and it more like a microwave chocolate sponge cake. Pisco sour is normally one of the my favorite cocktails and even that was mediocre. Lastly, the entree dinnerware was chipped as pictured, which is a safety concern.

I came here for dinner in April and then again last night. In April, I tried the Tequeños de Queso--tasty, but a bit too fried for me, so I could only eat one. I believe we ordered the Causa Acevichada and loved it. The sea bass was good, and the Churrasco a lo Pobre cooked medium rare was really flavorful. The sangria, unfortunately, was not good. I also tried the pisco sour flight and requested no ginger, so they substituted the Ambassador. The Ambassador was just okay--still pretty bitter. I really enjoyed the strawberry flavor, and the rosemary was pretty good. The spicy one was tasty but very spicy. Last night, I ordered the sea bass again, but it was very fishy this time. Thankfully, they kindly substituted it for the Tacu Tacu. The rice in that dish was a bit salty, but overall still enjoyable. The beef in both the Tacu Tacu and the Lomo Saltado was well done--next time I'll ask if they can cook it medium rare. The Tiradito ceviche was really good, and I loved the strawberry pisco again. The rosemary was decent, and I also really liked the cabernet we ordered--I believe it may have been from Argentina.

Five stars to everything; the ambience, food and service. Our first experience with Peruvian food and Juan was very helpful in his recommendations and knowledge of the cuisine. Going back tonight!

My new favorite date night destination.Went for their ceviche fest and glad I finally made it in. Ceviche was delicious and very refreshing. Service was exceptional and you could see they worked as a team. Everyone we encountered were well trained and knowledgeable. It was a very enjoyable experience and we will be back to try other menu items. We let our server guide us with suggestions and was pleased with what we ordered.

The food here is excellent and I didn't try the ceviche this time. It's supposed to be one of the best ceviche restaurants in the US. They had so many different ones and it's Oyster Fest, so they had ceviche with oysters. The place is really cool with the bar in the back. A heads up, the front door is very large. The service was good. We did get hit with a 20% tip for a large party. Definitely eat here.

Perfect wine pairing with the lamb

We started with the ceviche Trio which was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the villa Peru ceviche... During Ceviche Festival, which occurs one week a month, they have a large variety of ceviche. With the trio you get to pick three kinds.. I really enjoyed all of ours which were recommended by our amazing bartender and server Asia. I also thought my braised lamb shank was next level. The sauce was almost like a mole , but different . It had a very unique and delightful flavor profile. The only reason I did not give five stars was because the fish dish that we had was very dry and lacked flavor or spice. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It is very cozy , warm and inviting and I will definitely be back.

Beautiful restaurant. The food is amazing and we tried a variety of dishes since there were 4 of us in a party. Ceviche ají verde is a very flavorful starter. And we topped it off with a beautiful molten lava cake. Service is a bit slow. Even though we went there on a Tuesday night it was pretty busy. I think reservations are pretty much a must.

This was my first time in the new expanded space. It's really lovely, but on a Saturday night just before a holiday, also very loud. The service wasn't quite as good as usual, but I'd chalk that up to being there at the same time as two 12-15 person parties vs anything more serious. Cocktails were great as always. I didn't have an appetizer this time, but my dining companion was very impressed with the Tequenos de Queso. I was about to order ceviche for dinner, when a server brought a gorgeous rice dish topped with seafood to a nearby table. I asked about it- while in the menu it's described as a Chinese style fried rice, it was really more of a paella. It didn't disappoint as my entree- it was amazing, and the seafood very tender. For dessert I went with my staple flan and it was delicious as always.

That was even more special as the birthday gal loves mariachi. They were good. Despite hosting a wedding reception that took a good portion of the restaurant, our service was excellent. Never felt neglected or forgotten. Drinks and chips came quickly. The drinks were reasonable and not watered down. I had a Tesoro margarita. It was spot on. A mixed drink was ordered and so was Modelo on draft. Love the full bar. When it came to the food there was a delay caused by our party. Many good selections, we took a while to order. Despite that our food still came up timely. Every one was served at the same time and everything was the perfect temp. It was nicely presented and tasted just as good. Even the hard to please were pleased. Generous portions. Great taste. It was fun listening to the mariachi and watching people dance and have a good time. Far as desert. Who had room. Still the to go flan was excellent once eaten. I would definitely consider coming here any time for happy hour. For dinner. Or. To celebrate any occasion. It was a good time.

Once my husband and I arrived, at 7 o'clock on a Friday a couple weeks ago, we were sat immediately. I ordered a Horchata, I found their take on it, refreshing and unique. The pistachio coconut rim was so different, but good! I ordered the chef board appetizer ,which comes out looking like a work of art. I believe there were four different cheeses/spreads, and multiple arrays of fruits and sides. I loved it! My husband liked his pork belly appetizer too. Our meals were both phenomenal, with my husband, choosing the salmon dish and I had the chicken piccata dish. Fries taste fresh and had the perfect crisp tothem., well, though I didn't expect the olives with my entree, they really helped him make the dish! Even the leftover was amazing. My only complaint from this visit was the $14 curry I ordered which was severely lacking. I love curry and order it often at different places. This one could've used more flavor, and I really wish it would've had more than just potatoes in it. I definitely took it home to work on it. This place is pretty pricey , and boosts are very small menu, but they did have some nightly specials to also order from. I may have never tasted anything more delicious. I took home more than enough for a fabulous lunch. The hub wasn't as thrilled. He's not that much of a seafood guy, enjoying ribs or steak previously, but he decided on the fish and chips for this outing. He's used to cod for battered fish and noted that hoki didn't hold together well, breaking into small pieces, some with breading and some without. The fish and the coating were under seasoned and bland. He wasn't happy with the fries, either. He expected regular fries as our server specified, but received shoestrings, some of which were overly crisp but the ones under the fish were soggy. He did praise the cole slaw. Although neither of us could finish our meal, we did order dessert. We shared the pecan caramel cheesecake and it was ridiculously delicious: smooth, tangy, and not too sweet. Just perfect. We managed to finish it and mentioned to the manager/owner? how good it was. He laughed and said no judging if we licked the plate. The ambiance of the dining room is elegance, almost vintage, and feels special. The restaurant was very busy, which I am thrilled to see, but quite noisy. We were so lucky to grab a parking space in the small front lot, because I have limited mobility. I would love a rail on either side of the small ramp because it is a little steep.
