the treatment of their employees is very rude. One of their employees was fired for no reason 3 hours before her shift was done and was told she would not receive her pay nor her 5 days vacation that was owed. She was always on time, never missed a day of work. The only explanation was that she had given a customer a discount which was clearly stated in their flyer. Very rude. Will not be going back here. Not only are they very overpriced, their customer service is lacking. Went in for a simple hose (which I know they have because I had been there the day before but forgot to bring the adaptor so I went back the following day) and was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by an older employee. He asked to see the adaptor and then insisted he didn't have what I needed very rudely. So I left and went to the Walmart down the street and found it in seconds. Like I said, having been there the previous day I knew they had what I needed because they have a whole section of them but I wasn't going to argue or be treated so rudely by him so I left and took my business elsewhere and will not be returning in the future. read more

Huge selection of hardware (and other related items) at this conveniently located business. While needing some plumbing replacement parts, I stopped in here recently and was immediately greeted by a few employees wanting to point me in the right direction. They led me to the right aisle, but unfortunately, didn't quite understand what it was that I was looking for. Not their fault, though...I wasn't explaining myself very well. Anyway, I found what I thought I needed and was on my way. Prices are a little inflated compared to big box stores, but it's still worth visiting because of the selection, service and in-town location right off the main drag. read more

This store has exceptional customer service. They will take their time and listen to what your needs are. I'm African American, this area is not a place where there are a lot of minorities and some stores it's evident they have a bias against minorities. This store treated me just like a store should, a customer. They took their time, smiled and very helpful. I'll give this store 100. Thank the owner/manager/employees for doing a good job. I truly want to shop at this store, who does not want a bakery afterward accross the street, but for the last 3 months have not. I now drive to Rural King or Menards. No one wears masks (employees and customers). It is so dangerous to shop. The sandwich has already had to shut down 1 place to eat because they had COVID 19. I will not go back for a very long time. Wearing masks is a respectful thing to do for your employees and your loyal customers. Your prices are so high, but worth it, if you can get the support and get in get out with what you need. It is too risky now. An extra 8-minute drive is safer for my family. I have a father who is very frail, a wife with cancer and a daughter in law who grew up in Sandwich with that are vulnerable. Even my grandkids are able to get this. I am very scared to go here. I am disapointed there is no concern for safety to the public. I realize contractors do not always wear them, but employee should I would think their life and safety should matter. I would think a contractor would be worried if they get COVID how do they help their customers? It just is scary. read more

Good people and great service. They pack a lot of product into a small location so you'd be surprised what they do carry. Pricing is the one draw back. I've lived all over the country and I've seen Ace Hardware be competitive with the big box retailers. This Ace Hardware is not though. If I need anything more than a $20-$25 purchase I drive up the Yorkville for menards, Home Depot, etc. read more

They're convenient and local...customer service is pretty good...but way too overpriced on their products. I wouldn't mind paying a little for the convenance.m and it being local...still can't justify spending more when I could get it cheaper. read more
