Village Baker is one of my favorite places to have lunch or dinner and not just because they make the best snickerdoodles around. I'm hooked on their turkey cranberry sandwich (on squaw bread of course) and the pebble ice in the drink machine pairs perfectly. I've also tried both the veggie and Italiano pizzas--so yummy! Sadly, it appears all Draper and the surrounding areas have to offer are businesses like Village Baker: devoid of charm or character but designed with a corporate cookie-cutter-style looking restaurant in a strip mall. We went here to get a bite after my niece's college graduation and were met with crappy, canned and processed food served with toxic and environmentally-unfriendly disposable plates, cups and eating utensils. They also got a simple order wrong twice. I would recommend avoiding this place and find a local eatery with more charm and character. read more

Amazing! Everything I love all in one place. I got half a turkey avocado sandwich on a French roll with a mango chicken salad. Both were perfection! And I had to get an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Since they are so big I thought I'd only eat some and save the rest for later but it was too good to stop! I will be back to try all the cookies. And pizza. And other salads. Unbelievably good. Maybe that's an exaggeration, but not much. I had a custom sandwich (salami & Swiss + ham, that's it, no dressing or salad, on a hotel roll) and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good enough that -- even though I had half a sandwich to take home I got another piece to go. The sandwich was outstanding. So sad that I feel the need to post this. I emailed the location to give them an opportunity to shed some light on the situation/s and had even asked to speak to a manager when I called and got zero response, it's been almost 2 weeks. Pretty bummed but we won't be coming back to this location. This is the email I sent: Hey there! I'd like to preface this with the fact that I don't usually complain about my food/service unless it's really bad. We are extremely upset with both the food and service that we received tonight, 2/12/19 at the Sandy location. I ordered my food around 5:30 pm for a 6:20 pick up. As (almost) always, I ordered 2 small pizzas. 1 Baker's Choice and 1 Buffalo Chicken, with sides of ranch. 1. My husband arrives on time at 6:20 and waits for 20 minutes to be told that it will be another 10 minutes. That in itself is annoying but doesn't warrant me calling 2 locations to track down this email. 2. My husband gets home (not knowing what pizza I ordered for myself but who cares at this point because we wouldn't want him to wait another 30 minutes for another pizza to be made) and my pizza ends up being a BBQ Chicken, not Buffalo, not the end of the world as it's my usual choice any way. 3. We're extremely hungry and... our pizzas are barely over half way done, they're raw. Non-edible. We had to start our oven to cook our pizza. 4. I call the Sandy location back to verify what I ordered to have it confirmed that it was indeed a Buffalo Chicken. I ask the gentleman on the phone if there is a complaint email/phone number/contact and he says he has no idea. I complain that my husband waited 30 minutes, I got the wrong pizza, and the pizzas are raw and that it's unacceptable. He's likely very new to the work force as his skills with what to say in dealing with such a situation are lacking. I think we spent most of the call in complete silence (with some occasional "Yea, I don't know." from him) before I just hang up. We probably eat at Village Baker once a week, I've turned all of my family and coworkers on to VB. I've been eating there for at least 12 years. You're so much better than this. read more

I really don't get the appeal to this place. My extended family raves about it as well as my neighbors. My Mom can't say enough about their bread. We decided to give it a try last week. I was really not a very good experience for us. Our experience was our first and our last. When we walked in it, there was that classic smell of a pizzeria. My wife right off the bat decided she was going to get a small pizza. I turned out to be one of the most expensive small pizza's we have ever purchased, $18! The Pizza has a base price of $8 for dough sauce and cheese, then they charge you between $1.25 and $2.05 for toppings. Keep in mind that this is a small 10 inch pizza. We counted 5 pepperoni's on the pizza ($2.05). That equates to 41 cents per piece. We counted 12 pieces of green pepper ($1.25). That's about 11 cents per tiny piece of green pepper. CRAZY! I felt absolutely ripped off!. Pizza tasted decent, but it was not anything special. I ordered a turkey and provolone sandwich on sourdough. I asked them to hold the tomato but add bacon. When the sandwich came out it had tomato, but no bacon. I had already taken a bite out of it before I noticed. I went to the counter to let them know of their error and asked for new sandwich. After five minutes, they brought me another sandwich. This one had bacon, but no meat or cheese or lettuce, but they added avocado. A bacon avocado sandwich. Again, not what I ordered. I returned to the counter and the girl was pretty short with me as if I had the problem. I explained to her again what I wanted in a very specific and detailed manner. Finally, I got the right sandwich after waiting another 5 minutes. It was horrible. Barely and meat, one little slice of cheese, tons of lettuce. There was more mayo on the outside of the bread than inside the sandwich. I had to wash may hands after to get all of the mayo off of them. Bread was not very good, despite what my Momma says! We also ordered a cinnamon roll that never came out. When I went to counter the second time to return my sandwich, I reminded them that we need our cinnamon roll. The young lady said that she could not give me a cinnamon roll (thinking that I wanted one for free because of my trouble). I reminded her that I PAID for a cinnamon roll and to bring it out with the sandwich. When the young man arrived with the third sandwich, no cinnamon roll. I asked to get me one and bring it back. He told me "just pick one up on your way out." I said, no, go get me one and bring it to me. He brought one to us, but I was so pissed off that I just wanted to go. We boxed up the pizza, I left my lettuce sandwich that I took three bites of and left. When we got home, we tried the cinnamon roll, except it wasn't one, it was an orange roll. It was dry, stale and should have never been sold for consumption. Maybe the employees gave me that deliberately. My parents and sister are friends with the owner of this location, Dow Jones. Dow, you have got some serious problems with the competence of your people. You need to check your prices and stop ripping people off. Your food and service is just simply not worth it. As I see it Dow, you owe me $38. read more

The best place to grab lunch! (Or dinner) They have great pizzas, amazing soups and sandwiches. And their desserts are so good! Lunch time you can order pizza by the slice so it's fast and delicious. Order a sandwich on Squaw Bread! It is one of there best breads. Sometimes there's a line but it usually moves pretty quick. This location has quite a bit of seating where the West Jordan store has none. If there is a wait it is worth it. read more

Love this place for quality and fairly quick food. The ingredients are fresh and their selection is pretty large. I don't eat meat so I was glad to find vegetarian options available. My kids love their cookies too! Their kids meals are well priced however it only comes with the main and a juice box, so I was a little bummed about that. So I love the food here but the past few times my family has eaten here our orders have been incorrect and incomplete. Tonight my grandfather went to pick up food and a pizza we ordered was thrown out after my grandpa waited for quite a while for it. The workers claimed to have called his number and he didn't here it even though he was sitting a few feet away from the counter. The manager did rectify by offering some free desserts though. Another problem we had was a chef salad that was ordered came half completed. We specified no olives and yet we only got tomatoes, mushrooms and croutons. The salad was missing more than half the ingredients. I really love the food here and I want to continue to support the restaurant but the quality control has really tanked. read more

Found this yummy spot while traveling from Idaho to Southern Utah. What a find!!! We stopped for dinner and I had a half sandwich (turkey, avocado w/provolone) and a cup of broccoli soup. It was absolutely delicious!! Husband got a vegetarian sandwich and Kids ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Everything tasted great! The decor was urban, country. Super cute environment. The staff was so nice too! The best if it all was the bread! Oh my... heaven. Each sandwich was a half size but it was the size of a full sandwich!!! We spent almost a week in Sandy while on our way to the Grand Tetons. Found this little gem by accident two nights before we left.
