Found this yummy spot while traveling from Idaho to Southern Utah. What a find!!! We stopped for dinner and I had a half sandwich (turkey, avocado w/provolone) and a cup of broccoli soup. It was absolutely delicious!! Husband got a vegetarian sandwich and Kids ordered the chicken salad sandwich. Everything tasted great! The decor was urban, country. Super cute environment. The staff was so nice too! The best if it all was the bread! Oh my... heaven. Each sandwich was a half size but it was the size of a full sandwich!!! The bread was a little dense yet soft and moist, so good!!! Will make sure we will come back next time we drive through!!! read more

We spent almost a week in Sandy while on our way to the Grand Tetons. Found this little gem by accident two nights before we left. We ate dinner ( pizza, meatball sandwich and turkey sandwiches) and loved it so much we came back for dinner the next night. Pizza and Carrot cake is some of the best in the valley. Have been coming here for years now. Service is always friendly and fast. I came here with a colleague for lunch. She loves the place and had been here many times before. We came into to a pretty long line, to be expected since it was lunch time, but they moved quickly. I ordered a Village Veggie pizza after about 15 min it came out with sausage on it. They offered to remake it, but since I was on lunch break, I didn't have time to wait. I got a veggie sandwich and it was pretty good. I asked for a refund for the difference of the pizza since it was more than the sandwich. I was surprised to see that they refunded the entire amount. Quick and dirty: This place has become my go-to for lunch. It's clean, the food is fresh and flavorful, and their baked goods are just what a girl (or boy) needs on occasion. The Long of It: I'm in love with the chef salad here, and in its "half" form is perfect for a lunch portion. They use deli sliced meats, which is amazing, all thinly sliced instead of chunks. The turkey and provolone is tasty. The most delicious bread, and I am not a bread lover. I've also had the go-to cheese pizza slice deal. Greasy like good pizza should be. I've also tried a couple of the soups, avoid the Wisconsin Cheddar. Texture was odd, the flavor even odder. As for desserts, stay away from the rice crispy treat. Always pick up the orange rolls. Ordered a pizza to go tonight and it was quite good. Asked for different stuff on each half and was pleasantly surprised to find the pizza just as ordered. It was fresh, hot and cheesy with plenty of pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers and onions and sausage on each half. Tasty crust too. Not too thin and not too thick. I generally have always liked this place, but it's a joke that I ordered to dine in before multiple people, and surrounding me people who ordered well after me continued to get their food. I went up to the counter the first time, and was told that they were behind on pizza orders (why not tell a person that when they are ordering something they know will take longer than normal?), but my sis also ordered a pizza a few patrons after me, and got hers (which is why I went up to ask in the first place). Then as we waited, all these other patrons who had just sat down continued to get their food. I went up again, where I was told by another employee who apologized and said they were going to "put it in the oven now".. so the other employee I talked to first lied by saying "it's in the oven now"?? We had to be somewhere and couldn't wait for them to start my order that was initially ordered over 40 mins ago. I asked for a refund and they gave me a little slip of paper that said the payment had been voided, but couldn't tell me when the money would be back on the card. Here's to hoping they really do give me my money back. read more

On our visit on 7/27/18 at around 4:30pm, the place was dirty and unorganized. There was no rush and they only have a couple tables full of people. The tables did not get wiped down, the carpets needed vacuuming, there were no forks, and there were no napkins. These things are hard to overlook no matter how great the food is. I think this is a result of poor management and lack of proper training on the employees. I have been to several Village Baker restaurants and this is by far the dirtiest. Please make an adjustment on your management staff and train your employees properly. read more

Pretty annoyed with this place. The food was okay, though not up to the hype I've heard. The annoying part wasn't the food, though... I had ordered a toasted [hot] pastrami sandwich then stood to the side to wait for it. At least 5 people that ordered food after me all got there's and left. I thought, "Ok, maybe since they had to cook/toast it, it's taking longer." Nope. I get my food and the pastrami is cold and the bread isn't toasted. Even said on the receipt that it was supposed to be toasted. Didn't have time to give it back and have them fix it for another 20 minutes. Not sure what happened here, but doubt I'll be wasting my time going back. read more

This place is a joke. First they got my order wrong, even though she double checked when I first ordered. Then they took 20 minutes to get my coworkers meal and all he ordered was a bread bowl (which they already have pre wrapped in the kitchen) and all they have to do next was put a scoop of soup into a styrofoam bowl to be poured into the bread bowl. I came here with my two children and we ordered a delicious bbq chicken pizza and a grilled cheese for my daughter. The manager came out to inform me that they are a little behind on my order, so they gave me a free dessert for the extra wait. Love, LOVE Village Baker! Their pizzas are my favorite in the valley and that's saying a lot. The Pizza Italiano (with red sauce instead of white) is one of the best. They also have a delicious BBQ chicken pizza (without pineapple;). I also love their sandwiches. Their bread is amazing! Especially the squaw bread. Every sandwich I have tried is delicious. The bread slices are an entire inch thick, which makes half a sandwich a meal. Often I ask for the bread thin sliced, which means normal thickness. Their cinnamon rolls are huge and yummy. So happy they expanded their seating into the space next door so you can actually go and enjoy sitting down to eat your food. It's a nice space inside with great food!
